    Go to the dollar store buy a nice size spray bottle. Fill with vinegar & dawn dish soap < if you use the blue kind > then put enough in that is looks sort of like the ocean. Now spray that on them greasy screens let sit maybe 30 min. I use this solution on every greasy thing I have , wipe most of the grease out then it makes clean up awesome. No bad fumes. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing eh :))

    How do you actually get food out between the two screens mine food is getting stuck in between nobody seems to be telling you how to get that out can you give me an idea on how to do that thank you

    • @CookingWithCJ
      @CookingWithCJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the oven cleaner on it. After I rinse it, if there is still food stuck, I’ll use the scribing brush that comes with the grill and push the bristles through the mesh.

    Would the oven cleaner work on the basket in the Ninja foodie?

    • @CookingWithCJ
      @CookingWithCJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure. I’d worry about the non stick coating on the basket.

    Not surprisingly, Ninja Foodi Grill doesn't recommend Oven Cleaner, although I think that is targeted to the unit itself and not the splatter sheild. Alternatively, you can place the splatter shield into a large pot of boiling water (cover the sheild), then slowly add a cup of baking soda and a cup of vinegar. Let it boil for 10-15 minutes, to losen the grease. Then you can use tongs to put sheild in sink and scrube with Danw Powerscrub and the brush. Since I also used gloves and my pot isn't large enough for the shield to lay flat under water (it tilts resting on side of pot), I was able to use the brush while in the water (after 15 minutes of boiling) on the shield. Much of the grease came off without too much effort.

    Are these screens resistant to being cleaned in a dishwasher? I have a similar screen for a 12" frying pan and a pass through the dishwasher does it just fine.

    • @CookingWithCJ
      @CookingWithCJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t use my dishwasher… I’m actually the family dishwasher. Lol but yes I they should be fine in the dishwasher.

    It works but unfortunately I accidently got some on a little of the bottom of the grill and it ruined the surface that it got on. Has anyone did this know how to maybe reverse the damages?

  • @bigjimfanning

    Can someone tell me how to clean the edges around the splatter screen (the metal part that is actually the underside of the lid and wraps around the heating element) This is maybe like 2 inches wide all the way around and has gotten that black and brown burnt grease look that an uncleaned oven gets after many uses. I have seen many videos that say DO NOT USE OVEN CLEANER. Most of the ones I look at say to use lemon/water or baking soda/vinegar/water.
    I usually have no issues with the air fry pan or grill but even they are getting that blackish/brownish look. Is this something that is inevitable after many uses or is it possible to make it look like the day you purchased the unit? I do clean the unit after each use but it still there. The only thing I know will take this off is SOS but they say not to use on the grill.

      Gabby Wilson honestly I have no idea. I’d be afraid it would harm that coating. That might be a question for Ninja Kitchen.

    Hi I have a question. Does this unit have a grease collector? I have a AG302 Ninja Foodi Grill

    • @CookingWithCJ
      @CookingWithCJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s a little reservoir in the back of the unit. Just wipe it out.
