Got ya beat. I had a gas grill I didn't use for so long that a squirrel turned it into a house. Packed it full of leaves. But I bet he was warm and cozy

This video makes me happy 😊 to see that the strawberry kamado gets a real clean-up great job Roel you know I was wondering if there's no green top to buy like the leaves on a strawberry 😉
    It would be awesome 😅

Love the simple setup with the concrete blocks. Where did you order them, if I may ask?

Hi Roel, what we didn’t see in your video was how you cleaned the slow roller and how clean you got it. I ask you this because mine is really filthy and as we know we can’t burn it clean… What is the best way to clean it? Many thanks in advance

My propane grill got cleaned last week. I went outside and fired it up to warm up while I went inside to prepare the meat. I looked outside and saw flames coming out of it. I guess the grease buildup was worse than I thought and it caught on fire and burned for quite a while. I went out and shut the gas off and cooked the meat on the grill grates using the fire underneath. Came out dang good, I must say. Anyway, it won't be happening again. I'll make sure it doesn't get that bad.
I also have a 100+ yr. old cast iron skillet that was my Grandma's, that I use almost every day.

Well done. Although i would have just cleaned everything with fire. Also the grill grades and the slow roller.
Btw i think of getting a Kamado for myself. Still not sure which midel exactly. How thick are the walls of the kamado joe you have in this video? I want something with thick walls...

Nice and cool video. I like your setup with the concrete blocks. What are you doing with the wood in the concrete blocks, because as far as i know a kamado joe should not be fired up with wood. Isn’t it?

I do a self clean on my Big Joe every spring. This year I noticed to chip out of the inside of the top near the hinge. About silver dollar size. Heated it up for two hours and when it cooled the next day I pulled everything out, used a scouring pad on the inside to know off the ask and dust, and replaced the gasket, even though it was still pretty good. it was over 4 years old so it made sense. I noted a lot of ash behind the fire box. Did eveyhting you di and it looks great. Can't wait to fire it up for a cook soon. I also noticed my firebox was cracked and split in two. Is that covered by warranty?

Do you use a regular vacummcleaner for the ash or will that break down the vacuumcleaner.

I used a fireplace vacuum machine. It's cheaper and better fit for the job.

However, sometimes the vids are corny and worthless.
    I'm starting the next vid - if, I don't like it - I'm gonna do a thumbs 👎down.!!!
There is no way a TH-cam chef is a 5* when there's NOTHING I buy is a 5*. I'm NOT going with the crowd anymore.!!!
However, I'm so into this video ...
... that IT deserves a thumb 👍 up.!!!

My Houston Nephew says that grill is just “broken in,” and to clean it is a total waste of time. In Texas, he says, the spiders and bugs are called “bonus protein,” but of course, these are people in Texas who love road kill, so…………….

No way, these kamados cost a fortune, anyone who let's one of these get to that state doesn't deserve one or is just mental, I'm not buying this, it had to be said.
