i think it would help if when showing off the changes in maps from previous games, you showed what the map looked like in that game by comparing screenshots. it would help out a lot for people who never experienced the alternative Bluefin routes and don't know what the mag originally looked like.
Honestly I think enperry dualies having curling bomb actually deconfirms it having inkjet cause correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure despite there being so many reference kits there has never been a single one where the kit was an exact copy from splatoon 2. They all either have the sub or special replaced or substituted with its S3 counterpart. The closest we’ve ever gotten to a repeat kit was bloblobber and that was a mix and match between its s2 kits.

Not including the opening and ending of the video, there is roughly 30 seconds in the video that do not showcase any new content (mostly the Harmony parts). And listen I think this is one of the most if not the most creative and fun trailer yet but there is an obvious lack of content. Shouldn't there be two or at least one new main weapon? Where are the tableturf cards (not showing off because there's only 8 new kits)? Where are the new challenges? There's probably more they're not showing but it does have me a little concerned this season may be underwhelming. Although I think it's understandable to an extent because the devs are probably mostly focused on Side Order. At the end of the day at least they're not pulling a Gamefreak where they're repeating themselves in a 10 minute trailer with 30 seconds of new content 😭
Yeah, especially since Stingray was overbuffed, not under-nerfed like Crab. Its an entirely different situation and Crab is a MUCH healthier and better designed special, especially in its current state. It aggravates me to no end that not only are 3/4 kits with crab shooters (Dualies technically just being shooters with a dodge roll in everything but playstyle and accuracy), but we haven't gotten a new kit a whole year and 3 months into the game's life, yet the inarguably worse special for the game, Missiles, has gotten more kit variety and a new kit post-launch.
Im slightly concerned about the new special, The wall it creates is huge and can make the already cramped maps feel even worse, or make defending on clam blitz, rain maker, or tower control very easy. I also think it could possibly outcompete big bubbler because of the size of the wall, the damage dealt, and the gray scale.
But if they manage to un-botch the maps, then it’d probably end up being fine in the area-denial department. Also I’d be incredibly surprised if it had anywhere near as much health as B.B. Overall, I’m guessing that it’s gonna be less of a survival tool and more of a disruption tool, with the visibility obstruction along with the area denial capabilities.
i think it might play like a really extreme tent shield. My guess is that they're expecting you to throw bombs over the top to flush people out. Stuff like booyah bomb will be super useful for countering it!
Something that does concern me a little bit with the new special in regards to the grayscale is that some colors may be more distinguishable in grayscale than others, meaning that the effectiveness of the special depends on what colors are in the match, which imo sounds very unhealthy.
I'm glad nintendo is adding more support specials that ACTUALLY HAVE DEPTH even if some already in the game aren't completely support, but have support uses ie. Kracken protecting tower, chumps as walls, ect.
interesting how the side order DLC looks like a monochrome world to which we are gradually adding color and this new special is a wall that takes away color
Fast-forward to when the Splattercolor Screen becomes a major meta threat and every competitive player is playing with color lock on (the option the devs made for colorblind players that makes the ink colors always purple and yellow for maximum contrast)
Really hoping you can Squid Roll off the block near that new wall in Bluefin, though that'd still make that part a one-way unless they added another block on the other side
My guess is that the other side is inkable tbh EDIT: I actually looked into old Bluefin, and there's a hump where the blocks now are, which 100% makes me think it's a one way ramp on the side we don't see. Plus I'm 100% sure it'll probably be gone in stuff like tower, clams and rainmaker
As a Reeflux main, I'm personally hella hyped for this kit. I've wanted a more aggressive kit for a long time, and I was hoping for torpedo but this works well too. I'm looking forward to this.
It's really strange that Splatoon keeps on putting off long range kits. Out of the remaining weapons to get second kits there are very few that can be argued as a Shortrange weapons. It's going to feel really off if in one of the final seasons' trailers there will be a charger and splatling on both teams.

The greyscale wall is going to be interesting… The special itself feel like a disrupter of sorts, with the slowing effect being a similar, albeit weaker version of the S1 sub. The thing is, unless this is an HP special, i really dont think this special is gonna be that useful. The wall COULD be countered by point sensor/line marker(once again, if this isn’t an hp special). Then the smokescreen thing would be kind of useless. Yes, it can help a push or assist a defense, but a wall doesn’t matter if no one there is protected. If this IS an hp special, then we have a problem. Cause suddenly, we have a huge wall in a choke point completely blocking attacks and preventing the team without the wall from touching the team with the wall. i would imagine this would have 300-450 hp, 200-250 hp if we’re unlucky and that would require quite a few resources to even break(not the 200-250, that would be shredded in seconds). Not to mention that the enemy team is behind, hidden from view doing who knows what. However, as you pointed out in one of your previous videos, entire maps are choke point, meaning this special would be helpful basically EVERYWHERE. As an hp special, it would have a lot of versatility, and that is very helpful in a game like splatoon where you need to adapt to different situations. This special looks like it ignores that and says: “yeah i have no description. Just use me and im helpful.” I personally think that this special is either going to be amazing(with hp), or terrible(no/little hp). And the greyscale gimmick… I dont think its worth it. Like, okay, i get the reasoning behind it: “lets make it so that you can’t see colors in a color based game!” But the thing is, unless the shades of gray differ each time, players will just adapt and eventually learn what their gray ink color is. It would be disorienting, yes, but not that useful. And of course, there is the small percentage of people who play the game and are colorblind. I’m not, so I can’t say what it looks like, but just wanted to throw that out there as it crossed my mind. Anyway, this turned out to be a loooong comment XD. i may be wrong about this, the special obviously hasn’t come out yet, but i just wanted to get my view on this special out there.
Tbf, even if the opponent is using Wavebreaker or Point Sensor, I still think you can still get good value out of it as a smoke screen since one or two point sensors isn't gonna mark your whole team and although Wavebreaker can catch someone out here and there, again, it's not gonna mark your whole team. I think it only really struggles against locating subs and specials when you intend to use it as a purely selfish special and that's perfectly fine. I mean yeah, I don't think the grey-scale effect is gonna disorient people even a little bit but you do take damage from going through it so it's still a very risky move. I doubt they're gonna make it an HP special because it'd either break too easily or it would straight up out-class Big Bubbler but it's hard to say for certain but but as an non-HP special, it's perfectly fine and fits the Tsundere Brella really well.

It kind of hard to tell but looking at the footage from bluefin and comparing to the turfwar layout the spawn might be closer (on the 3rd layer instead of the 4th in the original) and the wall that was pointed out might be the way to get into base. Since alot of Turfwar layout in this game only really give you one route to get into base.
I really would like if they could add the past songs from the Chirpy Chips. Splt 2 had banger CC themes and would love to hear more from them. But still surprised they even ADDED the band
Saying this now, Enperrys are definitely not getting Inkjet. They have yet to repeat any kits from S2, and it feels weird for them to start now. (I think its a stretch to say Z+F is a repeat kit) Also, considering that the Side Order trailer showed a Dualies kit with Curling + Reefslider, I think its pretty safe to say thats its kit. I really hope its not that, we don't need a 3rd dualie kit with Reefslider, but it feels the most likely Oh also, if Enperrys do end up getting Jet or something else, I give you full permission to make fun of me.
why would they make an entire dlc where you have to use a weapon thats in the base game, rather than change it up considering the dlc costs money. it could be customisable in the dlc as well. i dont think its likely that we will get 3 out of 5 dualies with reefslider either
I've actually been hoping for Splash Wall and Booyah on Stamper. Would make it a monster at holding down routes. Main hope though is for chimney on Explosher.

Another possibility is that some subs got cheapened ink costs which i think is unlikely for the devs to do since they barely touch subs, but its nice to think about
call me crazy, but i'm super excited for Painbrush to have Angle Shooter. after the first kit feels like it was designed to run up to an annoying spot and hold it, what i really want the second kit to have is a sub and special that makes it really annoying from afar so that you either get forced to move near it or back up and lose space. since Painbrush is the hardest of the brushes to escape with the roll due to the windup and slow speed, i really want a kit that forces the enemy to move around you instead of the other way around, and i think Angle Shooter is a great start for that update: man..........
When Charas talking about the new kits like this it’s helpful to keep in mind that he is a top competitive player While Angle Shooter is a fun sub weapon casually (he’s even said that on stream) it’s absolute garbage in any competitive play, with the ONLY weapon with that sub seeing any use (and not even that much) is rapid pro deco. So yeah he’s probably going to be disappointed when angle shooter is added to a kit no matter how the devs intended it to combo with the main weapon lol. It’s just not a good sub
If you look at a few shots in the trailer, one of which is 50 seconds in, it shows you can go under mid on the new ramen map. it looks like there are 2 entrances, one on each side, into this bottom area, which is then connected in the middle with a wide inkable bridge. it actually looks like a semi/valid flank route especially with the mid of the map being pretty big.
I'm excited to fight Joe in Splatoon 3. Everything else is hype too, Chirpy Chips and Bluefin Depot returning is the definitive BUTTER to add to this game at the time.
Line marker on painbrush 👀👀👀 Line marker is slept on, it's my favorite sub. Idk how well it'll synergize with painbrush, but I'm just excited for a new line marker weapon, and on a main weapon I like too! :DDD
The answer is uh…unfortunately not very good news. Painbrush will already struggle to combo because of the startup, but marker does so little damage that by the time you go to follow up, even without sub defence they will have healed.
Another painbrush player here. And yeah, Line Marker would be awful. Even if you're a long range brush (by comparison), the swing startup as mentioned will hinder the combo. And as it is Not a Bomb, people will be more likely to pick you out and end you before you even swing once. If you don't want that, then you're poking from the distance and not positioned proper. Like, I COULD see it on something like inkbrush or even octobrush, but. Painbrush is just not fit for it. Which is why I want to be on copium and pray for point sensor instead.
I wasn't even thinking combos, but its utility potential. Line marker is a cheaper burst bomb that can ink multiple place with one use, as well as the location effect

chair hold missed that the plat is still fully connected, its just that the center is raised now and you can see there is a ramp on the right side(footage of painbrush jumping in, you can also see a ramp back up to spawn) and you can jump off the paintable block on the left side(footage of dualie on elevator)
Squeezers sub line seems to be slightly below 55% and closer to 52-53%, which is exactly a 60% sub + 1 main of Sub Saver Edit: Same logic goes for Undercover as well
There only being 8 kits would be awful, we've already had a slow decrease from people (in the first season) thinking we'd get as many (or MORE) kits as Splatoon 2, to now, people praying that 3rd kits exist in any form whatsoever. It's like a soft New Horizons moment, the devs promised 2 years but don't *really* care about updating it anymore other than the upcoming paid DLC.
As far as I know the remaining weapons with no kits are Hydra Splatling, Bamboozler, Squiffer, Explosher, Flingza, .52 Gal, E-Liter, Range Blaster, Glooga Dualies, Snipewriter, Nautilus So 11 weapons If we have 8 kits this season we're getting 1 less kit per season, and we have 3 more seasons of updates So next season, we get 7 kits, then 6 kits (2 third kits), then finally 5 third kits And the majority of it is probably gonna be shooters can we please have new devs that can make kits?

Bluefin doesn't look awful I think we do need to wait for the other 4 modes, because like Mahi, the stage changed a decent amount when comparing from zones/turf to the other 3
Personally, i think splash wall is a great pick for reef-lux, since you have to get pretty close to enemies due to your short range, it would be efficient to have some sort of cover while you aim at the enemy
I actually like line marker/angle shooter on painbrush. Its way better than curling bomb, curling just does not work for a brush. This is coming from one painbrush main though, but ive seen some people actually like this.
Unrelated to the splatoon trailer, surprised to hear anything about or from Mario sports mix, the music in this case. Bowser jr. Boulevard was certainly unique
I doubt we're getting more kits than the ones shown in the trailer. As far as I remember, every previous trailer has mentioned all their kits either directly or through a tableturf card. I really hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't get my expectations high... Also, can we talk about stringers having mist, curling bomb, sprinkler and wall (with bad synergy), while splatanas have torpedo, burst bomb, beacon (with good synergy) and potentially fizzy? I just want to play a bow with a good sub :(
Last years chill season trailer didn’t showcase all the kits, not even with cards. So there’s a chance there’s more buts it’s probably copium Also as a tri stringer main, I do believe both it’s subs to have good synergy with it. Mist slows opponents as you pelt them with chip damage and wail, while sprinkler, while not the best, is good at giving you time and paint to get away if you find yourself getting rushed down. Would there be better sub weapons for the weapon? Yeah sure but I think the ones it has works decent enough
@@aislynns4258 Yeah, I imagined that, if there was an exception, it would be that one or fresh season, since they were the earliest and fresh wasn't even a trailer. I'm still not convinced but we'll see. Tri stringer is also my most played weapon, and I agree with the weapon having decent synergy with both of its subs. I usually consider synergy more important than raw strength (i still believe sizzle season had the best kits despite not having any with bombs), but synergy can only push a weapon that far, and having the entire class with weak subs is sad, specially with the main weapons not being strong enough to carry their kits. The worse part is that they're not even the most synergistic subs for the weapon. The first kit would have felt really good with a true location sub like autobomb, torpedo, point sensor, even angle shooter. For inkline, sprinkler compensates its bad paint fairly well, but why does its paint have to be so bad to begin with? And if you want paint, can't it just have fizzy, which would also combo with its damage? It would be fine if their subs got better through patches, but sub weapon balance is terrible. The tier list has barely changed since launch, and the few changes are due to meta shifts rather than balance changes. I love the weapons and their kits are decent enough, but at this point they deserve something better than "decent enough", specially with all splatanas having subs that are strong AND synergistic

So I was thinking of specials and What if they made a squid friend. That is like a turret rooted into the ground. Kinda of like the octarian snipers. It can scare enemies off let your team cover an area. I was think you could have 1 big one that can shoot that shark beam in shiver’s fight or you could have several small ones that work like a better auto bomb launcher

Nintendo said they weren’t gonna recycle splatoon 2 kits beat for beat, the enperries aren’t getting jet. I’m rather confident that it’s Slider tbh.

Complete mystery to me why they didn’t just remove this sub from the game at the first chance they got. It sucks so bad and ruins every weapons it’s on

The special itself feel like a disrupter of sorts, with the slowing effect being a similar, albeit weaker version of the S1 sub. The thing is, unless this is an HP special, i really dont think this special is gonna be that useful. The wall COULD be countered by point sensor/line marker(once again, if this isn’t an hp special). Then the smokescreen thing would be kind of useless. Yes, it can help a push or assist a defense, but a wall doesn’t matter if no one there is protected. If this IS an hp special, then we have a problem. Cause suddenly, we have a huge wall in a choke point completely blocking attacks and preventing the team without the wall from touching the team with the wall. i would imagine this would have 300-450 hp, 200-250 hp if we’re unlucky and that would require quite a few resources to even break(not the 200-250, that would be shredded in seconds). Not to mention that the enemy team is behind, hidden from view doing who knows what. However, as you pointed out in one of your previous videos, entire maps are choke point, meaning this special would be helpful basically EVERYWHERE. As an hp special, it would have a lot of versatility, and that is very helpful in a game like splatoon where you need to adapt to different situations. This special looks like it ignores that and says: “yeah i have no description. Just use me and im helpful.” I personally think that this special is either going to be amazing(with hp), or terrible(no/little hp). And the greyscale gimmick…
I dont think its worth it. Like, okay, i get the reasoning behind it: “lets make it so that you can’t see colors in a color based game!” But the thing is, unless the shades of gray differ each time, players will just adapt and eventually learn what their gray ink color is. It would be disorienting, yes, but not that useful. And of course, there is the small percentage of people who play the game and are colorblind. I’m not, so I can’t say what it looks like, but just wanted to throw that out there as it crossed my mind.
Anyway, this turned out to be a loooong comment XD. i may be wrong about this, the special obviously hasn’t come out yet, but i just wanted to get my view on this special out there.
Tbf, even if the opponent is using Wavebreaker or Point Sensor, I still think you can still get good value out of it as a smoke screen since one or two point sensors isn't gonna mark your whole team and although Wavebreaker can catch someone out here and there, again, it's not gonna mark your whole team. I think it only really struggles against locating subs and specials when you intend to use it as a purely selfish special and that's perfectly fine. I mean yeah, I don't think the grey-scale effect is gonna disorient people even a little bit but you do take damage from going through it so it's still a very risky move.
I doubt they're gonna make it an HP special because it'd either break too easily or it would straight up out-class Big Bubbler but it's hard to say for certain but but as an non-HP special, it's perfectly fine and fits the Tsundere Brella really well.
Half of all the weapons they chose not to give kits I use this feels targeted

They announced the Snipewriter 5B with wall/rain on the JP twitter, so we're definitely getting more kits than what's shown.
For stamper I'm hoping fizzy obv and kraken or trizooka. But seen as booyah and crab should be on a weapon I wouldn't mind either of those
I fear that after Nintendo saw everybody immediately complain about crab during crab meta that they did what they did to stingray in splat 2 and just decided to never put it on another kit ever again

It kind of hard to tell but looking at the footage from bluefin and comparing to the turfwar layout the spawn might be closer (on the 3rd layer instead of the 4th in the original) and the wall that was pointed out might be the way to get into base. Since alot of Turfwar layout in this game only really give you one route to get into base.

Saying this now, Enperrys are definitely not getting Inkjet.
They have yet to repeat any kits from S2, and it feels weird for them to start now. (I think its a stretch to say Z+F is a repeat kit)
Also, considering that the Side Order trailer showed a Dualies kit with Curling + Reefslider, I think its pretty safe to say thats its kit.
I really hope its not that, we don't need a 3rd dualie kit with Reefslider, but it feels the most likely

why would they make an entire dlc where you have to use a weapon thats in the base game, rather than change it up considering the dlc costs money. it could be customisable in the dlc as well. i dont think its likely that we will get 3 out of 5 dualies with reefslider either
I've actually been hoping for Splash Wall and Booyah on Stamper. Would make it a monster at holding down routes.
Main hope though is for chimney on Explosher.

Made the protection from oncoming attacks and sub weapons constantly present for the duration the special during continuous stamp attacks, instead of only when the stamp hits the ground in the continuous stamp attack animation, to make it more consistent at blocking enemy attacks.
Decreased the radius of the area where a player can be damaged from the shock waves of continuous stamp attacks by roughly 35%.
Further improved the turning performance when doing continuous stamp attacks
When doing continuous stamp attacks, the stamp and the shockwaves of ink with be further displayed as translucent to the users screen, making it easier to see where their going.

Another possibility is that some subs got cheapened ink costs which i think is unlikely for the devs to do since they barely touch subs, but its nice to think about
call me crazy, but i'm super excited for Painbrush to have Angle Shooter. after the first kit feels like it was designed to run up to an annoying spot and hold it, what i really want the second kit to have is a sub and special that makes it really annoying from afar so that you either get forced to move near it or back up and lose space. since Painbrush is the hardest of the brushes to escape with the roll due to the windup and slow speed, i really want a kit that forces the enemy to move around you instead of the other way around, and i think Angle Shooter is a great start for that

While Angle Shooter is a fun sub weapon casually (he’s even said that on stream) it’s absolute garbage in any competitive play, with the ONLY weapon with that sub seeing any use (and not even that much) is rapid pro deco. So yeah he’s probably going to be disappointed when angle shooter is added to a kit no matter how the devs intended it to combo with the main weapon lol. It’s just not a good sub

If you look at a few shots in the trailer, one of which is 50 seconds in, it shows you can go under mid on the new ramen map. it looks like there are 2 entrances, one on each side, into this bottom area, which is then connected in the middle with a wide inkable bridge. it actually looks like a semi/valid flank route especially with the mid of the map being pretty big.

Line marker is slept on, it's my favorite sub. Idk how well it'll synergize with painbrush, but I'm just excited for a new line marker weapon, and on a main weapon I like too! :DDD
The answer is uh…unfortunately not very good news. Painbrush will already struggle to combo because of the startup, but marker does so little damage that by the time you go to follow up, even without sub defence they will have healed.
Another painbrush player here. And yeah, Line Marker would be awful. Even if you're a long range brush (by comparison), the swing startup as mentioned will hinder the combo. And as it is Not a Bomb, people will be more likely to pick you out and end you before you even swing once. If you don't want that, then you're poking from the distance and not positioned proper.
Like, I COULD see it on something like inkbrush or even octobrush, but. Painbrush is just not fit for it. Which is why I want to be on copium and pray for point sensor instead.
I wasn't even thinking combos, but its utility potential. Line marker is a cheaper burst bomb that can ink multiple place with one use, as well as the location effect
@@LamplightProductions Okay yes it CAN TECHNICALLY do that. But reality wise it’s still less than a burst bomb, and the best utility it has is inking a floor and wall parallel. It’s not going to have anywhere to ink a floor multiple times

chair hold missed that the plat is still fully connected, its just that the center is raised now and you can see there is a ramp on the right side(footage of painbrush jumping in, you can also see a ramp back up to spawn) and you can jump off the paintable block on the left side(footage of dualie on elevator)
Love that when you spliced the two 8-bit clips together, youtube decided right then was the perfect bit for an ad so it was split up anyways
Squeezers sub line seems to be slightly below 55% and closer to 52-53%, which is exactly a 60% sub + 1 main of Sub Saver

There only being 8 kits would be awful, we've already had a slow decrease from people (in the first season) thinking we'd get as many (or MORE) kits as Splatoon 2, to now, people praying that 3rd kits exist in any form whatsoever. It's like a soft New Horizons moment, the devs promised 2 years but don't *really* care about updating it anymore other than the upcoming paid DLC.
As far as I know the remaining weapons with no kits are
Hydra Splatling, Bamboozler, Squiffer, Explosher, Flingza, .52 Gal, E-Liter, Range Blaster, Glooga Dualies, Snipewriter, Nautilus
So 11 weapons
If we have 8 kits this season we're getting 1 less kit per season, and we have 3 more seasons of updates
So next season, we get 7 kits, then 6 kits (2 third kits), then finally 5 third kits
And the majority of it is probably gonna be shooters
can we please have new devs that can make kits?

Personally, i think splash wall is a great pick for reef-lux, since you have to get pretty close to enemies due to your short range, it would be efficient to have some sort of cover while you aim at the enemy

I actually like line marker/angle shooter on painbrush. Its way better than curling bomb, curling just does not work for a brush. This is coming from one painbrush main though, but ive seen some people actually like this.

I doubt we're getting more kits than the ones shown in the trailer. As far as I remember, every previous trailer has mentioned all their kits either directly or through a tableturf card. I really hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't get my expectations high...
Also, can we talk about stringers having mist, curling bomb, sprinkler and wall (with bad synergy), while splatanas have torpedo, burst bomb, beacon (with good synergy) and potentially fizzy? I just want to play a bow with a good sub :(
Last years chill season trailer didn’t showcase all the kits, not even with cards. So there’s a chance there’s more buts it’s probably copium
Also as a tri stringer main, I do believe both it’s subs to have good synergy with it. Mist slows opponents as you pelt them with chip damage and wail, while sprinkler, while not the best, is good at giving you time and paint to get away if you find yourself getting rushed down. Would there be better sub weapons for the weapon? Yeah sure but I think the ones it has works decent enough
@@aislynns4258 Yeah, I imagined that, if there was an exception, it would be that one or fresh season, since they were the earliest and fresh wasn't even a trailer. I'm still not convinced but we'll see.
Tri stringer is also my most played weapon, and I agree with the weapon having decent synergy with both of its subs. I usually consider synergy more important than raw strength (i still believe sizzle season had the best kits despite not having any with bombs), but synergy can only push a weapon that far, and having the entire class with weak subs is sad, specially with the main weapons not being strong enough to carry their kits. The worse part is that they're not even the most synergistic subs for the weapon. The first kit would have felt really good with a true location sub like autobomb, torpedo, point sensor, even angle shooter. For inkline, sprinkler compensates its bad paint fairly well, but why does its paint have to be so bad to begin with? And if you want paint, can't it just have fizzy, which would also combo with its damage?
It would be fine if their subs got better through patches, but sub weapon balance is terrible. The tier list has barely changed since launch, and the few changes are due to meta shifts rather than balance changes.
I love the weapons and their kits are decent enough, but at this point they deserve something better than "decent enough", specially with all splatanas having subs that are strong AND synergistic

So I was thinking of specials and What if they made a squid friend. That is like a turret rooted into the ground. Kinda of like the octarian snipers. It can scare enemies off let your team cover an area. I was think you could have 1 big one that can shoot that shark beam in shiver’s fight or you could have several small ones that work like a better auto bomb launcher
