It won't do any good. It Scott's DNA is on the duct tape, he will come up with another unlikely excuse, 22 years after he had a chance to explain the duct tape the first time. If not Scott's DNA, then who's? It probably won't explain the why, when, where, method... I mean she was in water that was like a washing machine. Thousands of pieces of debris and garbage came into contact with her.

I think some will take slight "reasonable doubt" so far past immense "reasonably done it" just for sake of being able to.
That .001% of doubt is more important than the .999% of probability
I was 19/20 when this occurred - I remember it well. When I was that age I actually was one that had that benefit of the doubt for him. Back then I still believed anything was possible ... Now, not so much... I've learned a lot over the years about human behaviors and I believe he probably did this...
But it's something that should stand the test of time if it's true, and if a privately funded project wants to reexamine the case, by all means they should be allowed to do so.

    • @jasonhaynes2952
      @jasonhaynes2952 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

For those who think someone else dumped her there to frame scott...you seem to overlook these facts:
The SF bay is 90 MILES from Modesto. The "real killers" would have had to drive 2 hours away, rent or steal a boat, and then motor into the bay to dump the body. At this point, there were plenty of police around searching the bay. Seems a little risky when they could have just dumped her in the Modesto foothills, huh? It's worth noting that Scott's fishing trip wasn't public for a couple days after her disappearance. So I guess they had the body laying around for days waiting for Scott's alibi to come out? Also, they weighed down the body! Why risk driving for 2 hours to the bay, stealing or renting a boat, then going out and dumping her body over, if you're just going to weigh it down so that it won't likely ever be found? Again folks, critical thinking please! Does that sound reasonable? That some burglars are going to do all that, risk getting caught/seen/pulled over, just to frame Scott by weighing the body to make it less likely it's ever found? Again...why not just bury it in the foothills near Modesto? None of this absurd theory passes the logic test whatsoever. Burglars who unintentionally kill a pregnant witness aren't going to sit around with a body for 3 days, drive with it 2 hours away, get a boat somehow, go to the middle of the bay that is already full of cops looking for her, and dump it over and risk being seen. Honestly this theory is just stupid. If the burglars did it, they'd get rid of the body and all other evidence as quickly as possible

Come on, Gloria… the reason the prosecution didn’t want Anne Bird to testify is because she completely changed her stories. What she told the lead detective in this case initially, is the polar opposite of what she later tried to say. 🤥
Oh and Scott wasn’t “headed to Mexico”, he was headed north towards Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla to meet up with his dad and brothers. But way to keep that lame media talking point alive. 🙄. And as far as the “map” found in his car… it wasn’t a map to Amber’s home. He’d already been to her place several times. It was a non-directional map that had Amber’s work address on it… another place he’d already been to so he didn’t need a map to get there either. He needed Amber’s work address to mail back a book she had sent him (that she asked him to mail back to her) that was also found in the car.

She changed her (Anne Bird) story from what? The facts show she and others in his family were assisting Scott to evade anyone and everyone for months up until he was arrested, after all, he was family. However, the police knew where Scott was most of the time anyway because of a tracking device on his truck and his cell phone pings and wiretap. It was Anne's husband, Tim, who was angry at Scott, and who forced Scott out of their house that was 2 miles from the location of the bodies. The facts show Scott was on his way from San Diego to his sister's house when the dead bodies were announced. Anne was on the phone with Scott and let him know. Scott promptly turned around and headed back to San Diego; cell phone pings showed his locations. Scott then hid at Anne's parent's house, the Grady's, just as the Gradys left for a vacation. They didn't see Scott, but the house-sitter did see him and was quite surprised. Scott wasn't interested in being involved in the effort to sort out the circumstances of the dead bodies. He didn't call the Rocha family or anyone in Modesto, including the police to get a more detailed explanation. He didn't go on the news and plead for the killer(s) to turn him/her self into the police, or for anyone who knew anything to come forward.
Scott may or may not have been fleeing to Mexico, but he was evading police, nonetheless.
Over the next few days, Scott played a cat and mouse game with various law enforcement who were following him. He evaded police using a car and a motorcycle owned by the Gradys (I believe he stole those vehicles), and he visited his brother, John, who had bought his truck installed with the tracking device. He hid at his sister Susan's place and emerged in the red Mercedes he purchased days earlier. Then, he took the cops on a 160 mile high speed chase up to Orange County and back to San Diego where he was arrested with all that survival gear and $15,000 cash. The story about the cash is so ludicrous....how his mother "accidentally" withdrew it from Scott's bank, but didn't "accidentally" re-deposit it, and rather, chose to covertly meet Scott at an art exhibit, to hand over the "accidental" cash.
Yeah... so Anne protected Scott in the beginning, but after her husband and others realized Scott did not act like a grieving husband and father, but more like a single man interested in fun and games with other women, which included offers of "flirtinis," and was guilty due to everything else, she stopped protecting him, and urged him to come clean (at the expense of losing the love of other family members).

Does it make sense that someone else Killed Laci, drove two hours to the SF bay, got a boat somehow, drove to the middle of the bay that was already full of cops and media looking for her, then dump the body with weights to keep it from being found? None of that makes sense whatsoever. No one is going to risk all that just to frame Scott, but also weigh the body down, in an effort to keep the body ever being found. I mean, it makes a lot more sense for panicked burglars who unintentionally killed a witness to just dump the body in a ravine, bury it in the woods, place it in a dumpster, or some other nearby and more secluded body of water, don't you think? Even still, wouldn't it make more sense to just drive to the bay and toss the body near shore instead of sneaking it onto a boat and weighing it down?

FIRST OF ALL, KIDDIES, a court of law never determines an accused's "innocence." A court of law determines whether an accused person is found "guilty" or "not guilty." I've long been at odds with the way the Innocence Project throws that word around. It's at base emotionally manipulative and no defense attorney in his or her right mind would use the term. Second, the prosecution's case hinged on motive; the bodies surfacing when they did was a stroke of good luck and nothing more. With regard to motive, Mr. Peterson had plenty and he spelled his intentions out to his mistress in code, "My first Christmas alone," etcetera. Etcetera. But what never fails to astonish me is Ms. Peterson's alleged naivete--was she blindly oblivious to her husband's behavior? Did she never question his whereabouts? Was she threatening to leave him? None of this information has been made available to the general public. Ms. Peterson had a group of women friends--yet she apparently confided in none of them? What was really going on in that house and what finally led Mr. Peterson to carry out such an atrocity? While tabloid headlines screamed, actual, verifiable, intimate news reports never manifested. Diane Sawyer got zero information out of her interview that she hadn't had going in. This case has been deliberately made to appear tricky and confusing. Why?

DNA?? Wouldn’t his DNA be on his wife’s body, clothes, etc? They were residing in the same house, they were in close contact, etc.
while it might seem the inquiry regards the DNA findings of any other individual other then him, it seems strange to imply DNA testing alone as clearance of his already secured guilty verdict. Even so if there was DNA from a different individual found/discovered, it might not remove guilt, or declare complete innocence. It seems the court process and all those involved will have to review the review of the case/investigation and any additional findings. Hopefully truth based justice is served. Laci and the baby boy deserve justice in their name and honor, their families deserve justice. God willing Truth is the basis for Justice, in every criminal case, including this case.

If Laci's bood or DNA were found in the VAN that was seen on the 24th in relation to her disappearance, that completely exonerates him. It confirms what police already knew and refused to investigate.
      Harshman Grogan testimony
GERAGOS: And they have witnessed the incident, and don't know if they have called Modesto PD yet or not, correct?
      GROGAN: Correct.
      GERAGOS: Okay.
JUDGE: Does he say what time of the day that was?
      GERAGOS: This was at 10:08?
GROGAN: That would be 10:08 a.m.
GERAGOS: So, at this point, Mr. Harshman has called on the 28th at 6:50 said he saw a woman being forced into a van, gave a description of the van. Then approximately two months later a New York City police detective says, I have talked to, presumably, Harshman's wife who may have witnessed the incident, correct?
GROGAN: Yes. He got the information from a friend of Miss Harshman's, Mr. Harshman's wife, I believe.
GERAGOS: Okay. And specifically you contacted him on May 18th, 2004, correct?
      GROGAN: Yes.
GERAGOS: And he, when you contacted him, he told you that the same day he called into the police department. You put it down at 12:28, right?
GROGAN: Yes, based on that tip.
GERAGOS: I don't think you ever saw this. I'm just going to show this to you. When I went through the tip lines, at 14789, it looks like somebody called in, but the name that was written down was Thomas Harsh. Do you see that?
      GROGAN: I see it.
GERAGOS: Okay. You hadn't seen that before right now, had you?
      GROGAN: No.
GERAGOS: Okay. It says, reporting that three or four days ago he saw a pregnant lady being pushed into a van. Caller given to Detective Holmes. You were not aware that Harsh had indicated that it was three or four days prior to the 28th when he had actually phoned in; isn't that correct?
GROGAN: No, I don't think so.
GERAGOS: Okay. This is the first time that you have seen that, because when the caller, whoever took down the information, they just wrote Harsh as opposed to Harshman, correct?
      GROGAN: Correct.
GERAGOS: Okay. And he said that he, specifically, on the same day that he had called in, he had seen a van parked on the south side of Scenic, west of Claus, which he described as a 70s, American-made model, beige in color, correct?
GROGAN: Is that the tip that you are reading from top?
      GERAGOS: No. I'm at 4527.
      GROGAN: Yes.
