i leave all my programs maximized and instantly switch between them using the win+number shortcuts . switching programs is muscle memory now. no need for win+tabbing to search for anything. the number in the shortcut correlates to the order of the pinned programs on the taskbar. just win+4 and boom im in my terminal. win+1 and blam im in the browser. win+2 IDE.
Bro probably using WSL and doesn't have the clipboard set to "" in neovim config. It syncs the clipboard veryyyy slowly with default behavior, you gotta turn it off and use something like win32yank or something similar

Basically in your vim (or neovim settings) set the clipboard equal to quotes ("" or '') so vim knows not to sync the clipboard to the registers upon opening vim. You can actually set an AutoCMD in neovim to sync upon bufEnter for instance, and that seemed to fix the problem for me almost entirely. Setting the clipboard to "" is all you need to get rid of the startup time. My vim startup time is 30-50ms every time now and I use about 40-50 plugins

There is a utility tool from chris titus it has all the debloating tools u need for windows inlcluding getting rid of that bloated start menu with simple clicks
yup, and instead of editing these keys manually there are helpful tools like chris titus win utility (I use it, but there are alternative options) that do it for you
Finally a good video about Windows customization, if you search about how to customize Windows on YT you see many videos, but, all the desktop look the same, its always the same rainmeter widget, the same taskbarx or translucenttb, even the wallpaper it's similar.

Long time ago, I was able to play games on linux. Recently I installed and tried many distros, even garuda which is for games, nothing worked. I believe there is something wrong going on about graphics card. Linux cant detect it somehow. Also steam is adding another level to this problem. I havent given up yet but not much hope.
@@hakanakdag9491 if you have nvidia card then try downgrading driver versions, I think getting linux to at least detect the card should generally be possible (they take care of it, since all GPU datacenters run linux). The issues start arising when actually trying to run something under the gpu :D

For anyone getting annoyed by Bing in the Startmenu, just disable it in Settings->Privacy->Search or press the 3 Dot Menu left to the Copilot Icon when searching to turn it off. I love this Setup, I want to learn to use my PC with Mostly Keyboard only, but Browsing and Navigating Maps is most of my Work and takes much longer with the Keyboard than a mouse :(
I've spent a lot of time making my windows workflow as "linux-like" as possible while still being kind of vanilla. I've ended up with windows 10 taskbar with wide labels on the top of the screen and a massive auto hotkey script as a dmemu replacement and for all my shortcuts
this is sick! I personally use yasb (yet another status bar), I like it because it has a taskbar widget (shows running apps), and komorebic wm (does the same thing). Suck setup though, very clean!
to everyone confused about where to put the config file for zebar: as of the 2.0 release of zebar they changed how configs work and yaml configs arent a thing anymore so those will only work on pre 2.0 releases

What an amazing video. I was wondering with the raylib one, what kind of black magic you did to windows terminal to make it look like that. I'm glad you chose other emulator. its not as such. GlazeWM is just a program that runs over the top of explorer.exe and arranges your windows for you - you can't really remove the normal Windows functionality without massively messing with your system - but you can run lots of things on top to mostly achieve what you want
@@davesiarez7229 actually I found the correct way, you don't have to edit the css, you have to edit the json file, there is a value that says transparent: false, change it to true and that's it
If you're still looking to do this, I changed "transparent" to true in '.glzr\zebar\starter\with-glazewm.zebar.json', which I think gets rid of the background that is always there. Then you can set "#root { background: rgba(0, 0, 0, .15) }" in 'styles.css' or customize as desired
After using Hyprland for 6months and then going back to Windows, this will be nice :) Now to figure out how to change the keybinds to be just like Hyprland lol

I had a pretty bad experience with configuring powertoys run, it was slow, broken and buggy. Used flow launcher all the way until I discovered fluent search, which absolutely destroys all competition with the exception of being a bit slower.
im an arch user btw. i have windows on an ssd i plug in sometimes to play rust and i did a simular rice to this using fancywm and taskbarX. works okish. im a fulltime linux user so its pretty painful to put myself through that. i3 gang

task bar has the tiny use of even when hidden if you do win+[number] the number the application is order(left to right) in it it'll open it so you can make your workflow faster that way
how did brave turn out looking like that! I’m using zen browser btw. For my window, all i did was using revi os playbook. It turns out pretty good, and it’s probably safe. I only use my window for valorant so I have no concern. But it does strip out unnecesary thing like edge and make window search more fast? (cause it’s not showing web search stuff etc…) not sure if it was this specific thing i did though.

StartAllBack allows you to center the taskbar icons, but not the windows logo, I find it way cleaner that way(you just have to revert some default settings it creates when installing)

You should try some plug and play distro like bazzite to first isolate the problem you're having.

Besides, if all you want is to change the opacity, find zebar/starter/styless.css, and edit the #root bagrkound colour. Hope this helps.

Nvm, figured it out. the YAML is for configuring glazewm, which also configures zebar. It goes in ~/.glzr/glazewm/config.yaml
