The fact that you are having low appetite and zero food noise is great news! Its less than 2 months so it’s too soon to know how you will respond. You may end up being a slow responder, but that’s okay. Slow and steady is fine! Best of luck to you!
I'm a super-responder... I've lost 60% of my starting weight. 2.5 years ago, started at 405 lbs. and today 159 and still going down. I'm on Mounjaro 15mg. and have been for many months. I have gobs of skin, but it is a whole lot better than globs of fat. Interestingly, two of my kids have been super-responders with tirzepatide, too. I have a theory there is a gene or marker or something that creates some super/early/late/non-responders. We'll discover that in about 10 years. Great video, thank you!
Congratulations!! Yes, it is healthier to have extra skin vs extra fat! I would bet that you are right about responsiveness being tied to a gene. Thank you for sharing your success with us!
Thank you, I pay full out of pocket and have 2 months of 2.5 zepbound so I will make the best of my suppression with it while I exercise more. I did my 1st belly shot so let's see how that goes.
As of yesterday, at my weigh in and only on day 20, I have lost 9 pounds. I started at 176 lbs. and am now167. Today I have an appointment with another doctor for my diabetes. I plan to step on the scale again to see. I have noticed that I am eating only half of what I was before. I have massive cravings for sugar and constantly struggle with this. I notice now that I can barely eat. My example: I normally eat 4 tacos at dinner. Eating 2 was too much last night. I love having sweets after I eat my meals (sometimes even before). Instead of eating a huge candy bar or half a pint of ice cream, I had a handful of Reese's pieces. And even that seemed like too much. I also stay up late and read since I am on a 3 day overnight 12 hour shift. I find myself always eating late. I had a treat last night and it didn't even taste right. I threw some of it away. If this keeps going, I will definitely be one of those fast responders. I am excited for this potential. After getting sick with Lupus when I was 27 and being put on prednisone, I have been overweight, and I am now 55. I also am only 5'2 in height. I am currently on 2.5 and will start my 5.0 doses next Friday. Will post results as I go!
Congratulations! You are off to a wonderful start. Yes, prednisone does cause people to gain weight and often redistributes the fat to the trunk of the body vs arms and legs. Since your appetite is so reduced, it will be important to make sure you are getting enough protein. Without sufficient protein, your body will need to take the protein from your muscle and this can be unhealthy and difficult to reverse. The National Academy of Medicine recommends 0.8g of protein per kg body weight per day. For your current weight, it would be more than 60g of protein per day. Additionally, a way to signal your body to lose fat vs muscle is to do weight bearing exercise. I absolutely LOVE to read comments like yours! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. Please do update us. Others learn and benefit when we all share. Best of luck to you as you titrate to 5mg!
I am lucky to be a fast responder. 2.5 mg for 6 weeks and down 21lbs. 61yo F/SW 358/CW 337lbs. I feel bad for slow responders. I wonder if glp-1 and GIP are not the issue for them. There is a new medicine likely to come out in 2025 that has a 3rd type of agonist and that may very well be the key to slower responder weight loss. fingers crossed for you slow responders! ❤
Congratulations on 21 pounds down -and so quickly! I agree about the new medication, Retatrutide, which may get approved in 2026. The phase 2 trial looks promising!
In my 1st dose and 5 days into it my body dumped a lot of liquid I believe was mostly inflammation that was around my organs, joints. Do you have any inflammation on this effect on 2.5 zepbound early dosage?
The water loss in the beginning is not specific to Zepbound. This can sometimes happen to anyone that has just started a diet. When we reduce our food consumption, our body starts to use stored glycogen for energy. When the body breaks down the glycogen stores, it releases water. Over the next couple of weeks, you will probably notice that your weight loss slows down. This is normal and don’t be discouraged! This is the time that most people lose fat vs water weight. I am glad you mentioned in your previous comment that you will exercise more. This is so important! If you don’t exercise, then you risk losing muscle vs fat. That can be unhealthy and very difficult to rebuild. By doing weight bearing exercise, you can signal your body to actually hold onto the muscle and lose the fat. The fat loss is a slower process. Stay motivated and know this will be a long, slow journey -but very worth it.
I’m an early responder to me. This medication Has answered my prayers, slow and steady wins the race. That’s my advice to everyone in the three months that I’ve been on the medication I did gain 2 pounds. But a week later I lost that plus one more so now I’m down 40 pounds and still pushing forward.
I have been a very slow responder. I used Wegovy for 32 weeks and lost only 23 pounds. I stayed at the highest dose for 4 months. I switched to Zepbound to see if it might work better. I’ve been on it for 10 weeks and have lost nothing. I am currently on 10 mg. These meds simply do not suppress my appetite. I’ve been working out for 30 years (cardio and resistance training), so that’s not the problem. I need to lose another 20 - 25 pounds. Is it possible that I won’t lose anymore? That one can go from a slow responder to a non-responder?
I want to congratulate you on losing the 23 pounds and it sounds like you have been successful to keep it off! I can tell that you take care of yourself as you have been doing both resistance training and cardio -excellent! I am guessing that the 23 pounds lost was likely more than 5% of your body weight. If you can keep that off and never gain it back, then you will continue to reap the health rewards of that weight loss. Now, to answer your real question: unfortunately, it is possible that Zepbound or Wegovy will not result in more weight loss. We are all very different and have so many variations in genes, enzymes and other factors that affect the way we as individuals store energy in our body. All these biological variations also affect our appetite and very differently person to person. While I do think it's worth it to titrate up to the 15mg dose of Zepbound, I do not know if it will work significantly better than the 10mg dose. It is not fair to you to try to simply reduce caloric intake and live your life always feeling hungry. It may be worth your time to learn from a medical doctor (Dr. Boz), a bit about an alternative way of eating. I can best describe it as Keto meets Time Restricted Eating. I am not endorsing this doctor and I have no affiliation with her. However, many people have finally found success using her methods. Here is a link to her channel and best of luck to you! th-cam.com/video/fO4xAj3h0x0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QJRk0IOnyKK_Yz3J
I'm week 8, still on 2.5, and I've lost 25 lbs. I did see that injection site matters. Sromach is a no-go. Left arm is a gold mine 😂. Thighs and right arm are average.
@veena-usa I have a long way to go, 100 lbs minimum, but it's a majorly appetite suppressant for me. I love the way I feel on it. My world doesn't revolve around food anymore 🫶
I am interested in the dose of early responders who went past 2.5mg and when. I am ending wk 5 with 20# lost from 265#to 245# 65yo 6'2" sedintary 1200 to 1400 calories a day I have trouble eating more being too full.
First of all, congratulations! Not only are you an early responder, but you have already lost more than 7% of your body weight on the starter dose! To answer your question, the study participants increased their dose every 4 weeks. It sounds like you feel very full on such a small dose and since you have already been so successful, you are probably wondering if you should stay on that dose. Here is what happened in the study: The main clinical trial had several groups that titrated up to 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. The doses were increased every 4 weeks until they reached their respective goal dose (1 of the 3 doses). The mean % weight change at 72 weeks for each group was: • 5mg dose= mean % weight change -15.0% • 10mg dose= mean % weight change -19.5% • 15mg dose= mean % weight change -20.9% These numbers include everyone in the study, the early responders and the slow responders. We don’t have any studies that look at people staying on the 2.5mg dose long-term. However, the data from this study does show that the 5mg dose may be effective long-term. If you feel like you do not want to increase up to the 5mg dose right now, then definitely discuss this with your doctor. I have had a couple of other patients that felt similar because their appetite was so blunted, they didn’t see a point of increasing the dose. Congratulations and best of luck to you!
Belly shot was of no help but after a laxative 2 weeks ago stunned my loss I went down 1/2# today .I walk 2 mile a day now and alternate light weight bench to tone for more reps.thanks for listening.
Are the GLP-1PLOTTERS good enough to tell us how much medication in in our system accurately? I was wondering if the could be a home test kit for this maybe like a glucose meter.
I checked out the GLP-1 plotter and it seems like a good estimate for an average person. It is really just an estimate though. Our bodies are all so different and with different enzyme levels and capabilities to break down a medication at different rates. There isn’t a home test that I’m aware of to check blood levels of medication in the body.
Hi Veena😍 I have been on Mounjaro for 6 weeks now. I had my 7th injection today and on 5mg now. I think I’m a slow responder as i only lost 3 lbs for 6 weeks. My HbA1C is high(pre-Diabetes). Do you think that is the reason why I don’t lose weight that much with Mounjaro? Luckily Mounjaro is much cheaper here in UK (£219 per pen) than in US
There is a study that shows people with Type 2 Diabetes lost a bit less weight than non-diabetics while using Mounjaro. The difference was 14% of body weight vs 19%. But both groups actually did very well. Since you have pre-diabetes, I am not sure how this applies to your situation, but we know from the “slow responder” study that you have a great chance of losing a clinically significant amount of weight if you can hang in there for the long term. Yes, Mounjaro is very expensive in the US. However, the manufacturer has a "coupon" that brings the price down. It's a very complicated medical / pharmacy situation here. I have heard that we pay the highest prices for pharmaceuticals. Best of luck to you!
The music is horrible and distracting and takes away from what you’re trying to convey here. Seems unprofessional. Makes it sound like an informercial of some sort and you’re not selling anything. Lose it … is my advice.
Finally someone explains who I have t lost weight , I’m at week 9 on 5mg….definitely a slow responder.
Keep the faith ❤

I just got a prescription for Zepbound yesterday afternoon! So exciting!!! Thank you for this video so I don’t get discouraged too soon!
That IS exciting! It’s the most effective in my opinion. Best of luck to you!
Thabk you for your video. Thank you for the encouragement ans educating the masses!!!
