It's cool that these videos usually focus on showing how each piece of gear can be so useful all by itself. Loving it. This one sounds pleasantly dystopian haha.
@@remyvegamedia Thanks! Yeah that part about squeezing the most out of one piece of gear also has to do with how the tune comes to be, which is mostly in standalone. That's how I prefer to work with the Syntakt. Appreciate the feedback about the vibe of this track, I definitely see what you mean!
Thank you! Yes, we record our jams via Overbridge and mix them in Ableton Live. This realizes the full potential of the Syntakt. In the Syntakt review video we posted earlier this year, you can hear this exact jam unmixed straight from the Syntakt if you're curious about how it sounds out of the box. :)
Thanks! The snares (or maybe some might describe them more as toms?) are actually from the digital SD Vintage machine. I even think it's a stock preset, called SnareEdit. The kick is BD Modern, the hats are made using the "3 HH Tighter" preset. In fact, all of these drums are baked into the same single track 4 because I was using track 12 for the white noise atmosphere instead. Working on another tune that uses the SY Chip machine though! It's pretty great, actually. :) Are you finding some good use for it?
@@sinewaymusic Baking into one track is always so much work.. 😀... SY Chip is really good for those commodore/NES/SID stuff. This tutorial on the new machine helped me a lot: th-cam.com/video/76j7O7fgZVY/w-d-xo.html
@Riekeberg Yeah it takes some extra work for sure, but it's nice to be able to free up the other tracks. 😊 Will have a look at the tutorial, thanks for sharing!
There's a really great buildup in the energy level for this track. Even more impressive that it's all from one box.
Hey there, I really appreciate the feedback, thanks! I listened to some of your tracks on SoundCloud, very nice! Are you also using a Syntakt?

Straight fire. The sound quality is outstanding. Do you do any mastering in post?

Sounds good! Some of the drums reminded me of computer games from the late 80s. Used the new sychip for that?
