If you want to have MORE fun shooting, and increase your skill, get involved with the CMP. 😄 Here's my recommended "Quick Start": 1) Attend Small Arms Firing School (SAFS) / Rifle 101. They are both essentially the same class. This will give you a solid foundation, or fine tune skills you already have. 2) Sign up for a CMP Games match, called a Garand, Springfield, Modern Military, Vintage Match (GSMV). These are 30 shot, 200 yards only, matches that allow coaching. You get 5 sighters to get a 200 yard zero, and your scorer/verifier will gladly help you. You can use the rifle you likely already own for this match. There is a long list of eligible rifles, including the non-match grade AR-15 you already own. Camp Perry and CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park are not a place for experts. They are a place to help YOU become an expert.
Visit our website at thecmp.org/cmp_sales/eligibility-requirements/ to view our Eligibility Requirements. Feel free to email us at info@thecmp.org with any questions. Thank you!
@@CivilianMarksmanshipProgram i did yesterday and im waiting to hear back. It looks like I need to send in a copy of my birth certificate, copy of my CCP and maybe a driver's license with the application and money order.
@@stevekelley2341 Yeah, just use the check list that prints with the order form. You'll also need a "MEMBERSHIP IN CMP-AFFILIATED ORGANIZATION". There's a list of qualified organizations on the CMP website. Fill it all out, sign before a notary and mail it in.
I would love to compare the grade point averages and criminal histories of the kids in these programs to the kids involved in other sports. My money is on these kids doing FAR better.
CMP... The BEST firearms organization, hands down.
Agreed. 😄
