    You might have noticed a difference in Pau's demeanor during "ANIMOSITY". That is because the song is very real and personal to her. She wrote it regarding a friendship gone afoul, involving lies and betrayal and whatnot. You will see how she is much more open during "Z". These sessions were recorded at Victoria Records Studios in Monterrey. Thank you for another amazing (and cheezy) The Warning reaction!

    Ale has been a sponsored Spector artist since she was 13 or 14; that’s her custom 5 string that she received a couple of years ago. She chose the finish to look like molten lava, and the company now calls it Ale’s Inferno. Dany is a PRS artist and that’s the guitar she has been playing the last couple of years. She now has a turquoise version, and she also plays the Gibson Explorer given to her by Lzzy Hale on some songs in concert. These sessions were recorded in Victoria Studio in Monterrey; it used to be an old mansion.

    Not only is Ale's bass made especially for her at the Spector custom shop in Woodstock, NY. It also has a finish made specifically for Ale made to look like burning coals. The Finish is called "Ale's Inferno" and is now available on other Spector basses. And yes, this is the first song by The Warning where Ale uses a pick for the whole song.
    As for Dany, yes, she can definitely shred! If you see them live, you finally realize how effortless their playing is. They are all MASTERS of their instruments!

    The orange Spector bass, red PRS guitar and white DW drums have been TWs primary instruments onstage since they returned to touring this year. The white drums are an identical copy of the set Pau uses in The Cave. Ale also has a second bass with beautiful wood finish and gold fittings, Dany has a nice black PRS as backup, which recently got nudged to third place when Lzzy Hale gifted Dany a white Gibson Explorer during the first Halestorm support tour.

    • @KelleyJ303
      @KelleyJ303 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I think that black PRS is now in fourth place. Lately, we've seen Dany also sporting a beautiful new blue PRS while on tour. She still uses the red one but switches between that, the Gibson, and the blue during their sets.

      Blessed! Been a Stryper fan ever since 1985 (14th album Final Battle) but "the Warning" late last year when I first discovered these talented ladies (I later found out opened for Stryper in Mexico 2 years ago) is my next favorite band now and I usually stick with listening to Christian rock and metal or praise & worship since I'm a singing metal/rock/praise drummer at our church for past 37 years. Pau is such a pauerful drummer (pun intended) and a great inspiration to me as a singing drummer, but my wife Ursula (22 years so far) doesn't like the fact at 63 I'm watching all these young female drummers like Senri, Junna, Lulu and now Pau in rock bands like Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh (GFM on hiatus) and recently in 2022 discovering the Warning and their incredible 100 show Mayday Tour. Not many bands can do such a tour. What I'm also so amazed at is how great their audio is on these live recordings, usually it's really muffled or muddy...but not with the Warning! I say the Warning sound/stage/tech crew really knows how to mix live music!!!

    In your previous video you asked the question, is there a live performance? The automatic answer is yes, if you look through TH-cam you will find live versions of every song in their discography, some better than others, the newer ones with more recordings than the older ones. There is one glaring exception and that is the bonus track from the Error album, Breathe. It was a last minute addition to the album and supposedly was added under the condition that they would never have to play it live. Not sure why, but this is the story.

    Animosity is one of the few songs that Ale uses a pick with her bass. She says she likes the sound. But she appears to only use a pick when the song calls for it. Being a bass player, I can say it is possible to play faster using a strumming motion to pick and back-pick a string rapidly as it seems Ale is doing here. But some of the best bassists can achieve amazing speed using fingerstyle. Ale is pretty damned fast playing either way. Z has been the song they usually open concerts with during their current tour. They seem to enjoy playing it and it definitely pumps up the crowd. If you notice early on in this video Ale and Pau exchange a glance and Pau smiles at her. This sort of thing happens a lot during their concerts. When they were opening for Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless during the summer, they were often limited to the front edge of the stage and so Pau's drums were set off to the right and not centered, with Dany between Ale and her. The only times Ale was able to get close to Pau was whenever Dany was doing a solo and she and Ale swapped places.

    One of the first things I noticed about Dany's playing was her ability to play complex riffs while singing. In some songs she'll even play the same notes that she's singing (ala George Benson style). In all the years I played, I could never do that.. regular chords, yes.. no problem. But if I wanted to do anything more than that, then i had to quit singing or I'd lose track. They are on another level musically, and I'm so glad Lzzy Hale saw that too, and essentially took them under her wing and is touring with them and then blew everyone's mind when she presented Dany with that custom shop Gibson Explorer, in the middle of their set, like she was handing over Excalibur!💖 They just keep getting better and better. Imagine what they'll be like 10 years from now?😮🎵🎶 *EDIT:* I didn't see anyone else respond to this, but that 'room' is Victoria Studios in Monterrey, MX where I think they recorded their first full album, XXI Century Blood.😉

    Dany's solo in Z is amazing live! They usually use Z as their show opener now, although they have gone back to Dust to Dust a few times recently. Earlier in the Mayday tour they would extend the intro for Dany to introduce the band. ANIMOSITY was my least favorite song when the Mayday EP first came out but it's really grown on me and Ale's bassline in that song sounds fantastic. I know there are other bands that feature the bass more prominently than others but I've never heard it consistently at the forefront like Ale's is. Happy Dany Day 🙂🤘!

What incredible company Dany is in. You mention the work of the rhythm section. They actually speak about how they paid close attention to the relationship between the bass and percussion for the Error album. Hey Cheezy, another one with two of my favorites. Then again, you could play any two TW songs and I could say that. The music video for Animosity is a colab they did with the Webtoon comic I'm the Grim Reaper that they are all big fans of. Either as a reaction or just for your own personal enjoyment, there's a great video of them reacting to that video for the first time.
    By all rights Z should go down as one of if not the rock anthems of Gen Z when we look back on this years from now. It is also the song they usually open their sets with. With the stage dark Pau starts off with the drums, then Ale walks out adding that bass line for a few seconds and then Dany runs out does the quick "welcome to the show" thing and starts jamming - it's an absolute rush to see that live.

    Already 30 comments in about one hour after uploading, you made it man. I would be very interested of your reaction to Revenant and 23, both sung by Pau. Complete diffeent alley, but after some times hearing them, I completely fell in love. And when playing it live, its even better (as always).

    Nice Cheezyxyz, just throwing this out there, but there are videos that have Ale teaching Dany how to play bass. Dany teaching Pau to play guitar, hilarious. And Pau teaching Ale to play drums. Just thought I'd share; these videos are pretty long though.

    oooh and Ale's playing power chords on her bass in this song! Not many bassists do that.. she does it in the part before the chorus on that note she slides up to (haha I guess that's the pre-chorus duh... only heard it on the first time they did that in the song though) and in the chorus on one note each time... you can see the huge stretch of her hand to handle it on bass... "it's killing ME again" on the ME part...... oh wow in Z they toss the vocals around through al three pretty evenly this time.... dany, dany/pau, dany/ale, pau/ale... very cool! and dany playing a lead line while singing the 2nd half of 2nd verse.... didn't notice that before

    The Warning performed in that same wood panelled studio intheir home town back in 2014 aged 9, 12, 14 ish. th-cam.com/video/M6cRrWjFSak/w-d-xo.html
    They also recorded their own version of Enter Sandman last year for the Metallica Blacklist album in that studio complex. If you do a reaction to Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara, then you could do a two for one - the official music video plus the behind the scenes at this studio.

    I love the lyrics in Animosity.. Mayday mayday this ship is going down...Pau kinda explains that it was a very personal song for her to write. As for Z, the rare but really great Dani solo shred, and Pau is an animal behind the drums, screaming 'what she thinks' ;) Fantastic but subtle bass from Ale, full of change ups. Gotta love it!

    Welcome down the Rabbit Hole...love your reactions.
    These girls are amazing. I haven't followed a band this much since Metallica in the 80s. They are the future of rock and roll. I haven't seen this much hype and quick fan base happen to a band in a long time. QOTMS has got to be one of the best concept albums I have ever heard...and coming from 3 young teens is mind blowing.
    I suggest listening to the softer side of the Warning and going for 23 and Revenant lyric videos.

    Cheezyxyz, I just love watching your reactions dude ! Your facial expressions are priceless and seeing the gears turning when you suddenly "realize" something musically or technically is going on and rewind it is really cool! OTHER reviewers it's annoying, but you make it cool and always go back a few seconds! Pau is a great inspiration for me as a singing rock/metal/praise drummer!!! I do have a question about your disclaimer...would that also cover someone doing a drum cover on youtube? Reason I ask is I did 2 covers back in 2010 and then had some internet issues where I was offline, when I got back online I noticed 2 red flags from youtube. I responded explaining my dilemma and asking "...what's the problem and how do I fix it?" But instead of getting a response the 3rd red flag showed up and I was banned losing all the content I had. Will this claimer work or is there another one I should use? I want to do more drum covers this year...maybe even some of "the Warning". I also have another question...I noticed all your background is flipped...why is your video always backwards?

    • @Cheezyxyz
      @Cheezyxyz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Roger! The disclaimer helps but it doesn't always work. The Warning is very good about removing their copyright from Reaction videos (personal experience) and from others doing covers (from what I hear).
      Other bands, and their management, will block the video's visibility if they get an alert of possible copyright. You can always dispute and appeal as well.

    These studio lives are great, but a bit sterile, after seeing them perform these Live. They all feed off the crowds energy, and respond in kind, making each song even better then expected. Simply amazing how they can take something already incredible, to the next level. You just have to see them in person to fully get it, but there are some great live videos (like tons) to check out until that time comes.

    I would love to be a fly on the wall when they brain storm these pieces of art. Who decides to play what, when.etc. when did they decide to have pau close out Z like that? I love it, so unexpected, yet it makes total sense.
