  • This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. World Peace: An intervention you should make
Born in Liverpool to good parents with a younger sister and brother, Chris was educated in one of the worst performing schools in the UK.
Aged 16, Chris was in the Leppings lane section of the Hillsborough Disaster where 96 people died. Days later, false reporting of ‘The Sun’ newspaper is listed as the worst moment of his life. Teacher Mary Wilson provided the most important day of his life 6 months after Hillsborough - she forced him to write a life plan. Followed the Mary Wilson life plan line by line from the age of 17 until 39. Travelled the world for a number of years and put his life into a global context. Collected amazing mentors. Started a business. He grew a group of businesses, made some money, and found his purpose - World Merit.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
