Hey Jj is there any way you could do a dummy course on how to hook electronics in certain channels and go over set points for servos? I'm not sure if you have or not but it would sure help me out! Great video
I use spektrum receivers and throttle return springs. The spektrums have a failsafe for radio loss and the spring returns the throttle to full closed if the rx goes dead.
if you lose power, say the radio box switch glitches, the servos stay wherever they are and you crash the boat. It happened once to me, and I also threw the boat in without the radio box on once. destroyed engine free revving on the bank both times. So that is why I run dynamite and/or hilanstronics kill switches that automatically ground the ignition and stall the engine upon battery loss and radio loss. also had the carbs butterfly shaft bend from over extending it and boat wont stall because it cant close the carb. $35 cheap insurance.
Pretty interesting indeed! Thanks, JJ! 😃 BTW, have you heard of the Radiomaster MT12, ExpressLRS and so on? The MT12 is a car/boat radio with EdgeTX and ELRS. ELRS is like Crossfire, but open source, so many companies make receivers and so on. And there are PWM receivers for it. The major difference from Crossfire is that it's 900mhz or 2.4ghz. And people went 100km (around 60 miles, I guess) with the 2.4ghz system. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks so much for this video. I now have fail safe on all my boats and I know how to use it thanks to you. Great video!! You’re the MAN!

ya really should lol..
Which brand hydro did you build? I’m looking to buy one but heard you would put it together on your channel and then I would buy it complete?
what are you looking at?
@@jjrotogeek looking at ml boatworks , any of the hydros look good to me. Whichever one you wanna build I’m good with.
@@jjrotogeek you think you would be interested?
