Their 2018 *Queen of the Murder Scene* (all original) album is a *"ROCK NOVEL"* aka *concept* story about a woman's journey of love, despair & madness. Start with *Dust to Dust* (Epilogue of the novel) goes through 11 other songs that ends with *The End (Stars Seems To Fade).* Four chapters with 3 songs for each chapter.
    *OH. YOU BEEN WARNED!!*

With the release of not just “Choke” and “Evolve” as singles, but the yet to be named album from which they come, these sisters have not just opened up doors of unlimited opportunity, but kicked them down! As I said in my comment to your reaction to Choke, I believe they will absolutely sell out ANY venue they chose to perform, including major arenas and stadiums.
It is also worth noting that the sisters have stated on their Patreon page that they do not consider either one of these songs to be the best nor their favorites of the album. Matter of fact, they rate this one as only the 10th out of 12 songs on the entire album…..let that sink in!
LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS aka THE WARNING!

They have deep roots in the music of the '60s -'70s with elements of punk and grunge and even kpop (so they say). Their previous album, Queen of the Murder Scene, is a concept album that tells the story of a girl that goes from love to obsession, stalking, murder, and madness. The intro is Dust to Dust, which also features the drummer singing lead while drumming furiously.

Aside from Choke and Evolve (the first two singles released from their forthcoming album - which, incidentally, will be the first of a 5-album deal signed with Lava), The Warning have a catalogue of 30+ originals from 2 previous albums and an EP that were independently produced. Lots of 'guilty pleasure' covers too, dating back from when they were just younger kids. FYI Sandman was recorded when they were ages 9 - Ale, bass, 12 - Pau, drums, and 14 - Dany, guitar. The sisters all grew up playing the piano and the game Rockband, and all of their non-covers were written by the girls themselves. An enormous wealth of talent, dedication, and passion!

Great reaction! Here is your background for The Warning. The Warning is a band of 3 sisters. Dany (Daniela) on guitar is 21 yrs., Pau (Paulina) on drums is 19 yrs., and Ale (Alejandra) on bass is 16 yrs. They all can and do sing lead. Paulina (Pau) sings lead about 25% of the time. Daniela (Dany) sings lead the rest of the time, and Alejandra (Ale) sings lead when needed but does not like the extra attention. They are from Monterey, Mexico and have been playing as a band since 2013. They started by doing covers. Their most famous is Metallica’s Enter Sandman (which has over 22 million views on TH-cam) but have since written and recorded their own work since 2017. They have been on the Ellen show, played and sold out the stage at the Whisky a GoGo a few times, and been at the Hollywood House of Blues, as well as many other venues. They have opened for such acts as Alice Cooper, Def Leopard, Stryper, and others. During a Pandemic live stream concert with multiple bands Lizzy Hale saw them and was so impressed she asked them to tour with her. They were completely fan funded and independent but after 7 months of negotiating, in October of 2020, they signed with Lava/Republic Records (only after negotiating to keep much of their independence). Ale is a very accomplished bass player and has a signature line of bass guitars from her sponsor Spector Guitars US (Not bad for 16 years old!). Pau is a near world-class drummer (at 19) and Dany is not far behind in here guitar abilities. All are extremely passionate about music and do not cut corners on anything. To understand their immense talent, you need to see them from early on. Here is a 2012 video of a then 10-year-old Pau doing a complicated drum cover of Kelly Clarkson’s My Life Would Suck (please watch all the way to the very end- and yes, that is her complete drum kit!): th-cam.com/video/MUAhV8K-v3A/w-d-xo.html Now check out the band from 2014 with the video that went absolutely viral (enter Sandman). They still had a long way to go but you can see the passion: th-cam.com/video/1boUYB9LFJY/w-d-xo.html We step up to 2015 and The Warning’s cover of Muse’s Hysteria. Please note that the bass line is very difficult. The bass player from Muse doesn’t like the song much because it is complex and tiring. It has been ranked somewhere in the middle of the 10 hardest bass lines in rock but 10-year Ale kills it like she had been playing it for years- because she had. She mastered it at 8 years old!!! th-cam.com/video/fU26wmlF3yg/w-d-xo.html or a performance from the same year at The House Of Blues (poor quality sound and video): th-cam.com/video/nyGRzkr5cws/w-d-xo.html In 2015 they also released an EP of original music called Escape the Mind. In 2016 they were invited to participate in a Ted Talk where they sang 3 songs and told their story of how they came to be. At the time they were 15, 13, and 11 years old: th-cam.com/video/dyJlh0tNK6Y/w-d-xo.html They were invited back again to do another Ted Talk in 2017 where they explain their struggles launching their first Album XXI Century Blood. You can see the big difference in the quality of their performance and public speaking between the 2016 to the 2017 Ted Talks: th-cam.com/video/pj5ue3M-v6o/w-d-xo.html In 2017, having just finished their first album XXI Century Blood (privately funded by patreons and other supporters) and in honor of one of their favorite bands being in town that night they learned (in 4 days) Metallica’s Atlas Rise. This is their studio version (from their basement studio at home affectionately called The Warning Cave) after having just learned it. Keep in mind they are now only 17, 15, and 12 years old and killing this technically challenging song: th-cam.com/video/ujrHJH3yovc/w-d-xo.html
They released Choke (th-cam.com/video/TlOy0XbFVlM/w-d-xo.html) about 5 weeks ago and recently released Evolve from their uncoming 3rd album.

They're extremely mature -- all the more so for their ages -- and have a very clear musical vision that does not include patterning their music after anyone else or letting others interfere with their vision. As their biography notes, they had plenty of recording offers, but the labels always wanted to change their music, how they dress on stage (I don't even want to think about *that*), and so on. They had little difficulty resisting the lure of early stardom and have focused on building themselves up as a band, improving their musical skills, and crystallizing their vision. They're also, from *everything* I have heard, very warm, humble people (I have yet to meet them; hopefully they'll play where I can attend, and they'll continue their Patreon supporter meet and greets). But warm and humble doesn't mean weak. They're the kind of people that I believe would be successful in any endeavor that they chose, not just music.
They consider themselves a rock band, not a metal band. They're not fixed to a particular sub-genre of rock; during an interview, Pau commented that the forthcoming album is generally heavier than what they've done before, but not exclusively, and that no two songs on the album are particularly alike. Dany agreed, and noted that that's "very The Warning".
They don't rely on special effects or elaborate stage sets for their shows. They don't need to. Nor do they need autotune or anything else to conceal weaknesses, because they don't have a whole lot of those. They have informally live recorded a number of acoustic versions of many of their songs, which are outstanding. They do use a video screen where available and have produced (themselves) very interesting content for it.

    • @robertkrawitz8237
      @robertkrawitz8237 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Even earlier -- We're Not Gonna Take it dates from the end of 2013 (they were 13, 11, and 9) at the time). We've all seen endless young virtuosi play fiendishly difficult solos, and plenty of young bands that sound promising, but everything isn't quite in sync, or someone's not holding up their end. Dany, Pau, and Ale's voices, of course, were not anywhere near mature at the time, but they were all but perfectly in time throughout, and when Dany played the solo, Ale was right there providing the rhythm backing on her bass while keeping in perfect sync with Pau on the drums. A trio playing music written for four parts is going to sound hollow if there are any weaknesses at all. There were no weaknesses.

Thank you for saying that you don’t think the Warning sound like anybody else, I think your right, they don’t. They have their own sound. Every song is different, which is amazing in itself. And for people to try to pigeonhole them into somebody else’s sound, it’s not fair to the Warning. They have lifelong influences from other artists, but that doesn’t mean they copy the sound of those artists. The warning is very unique in their sound. And in my opinion they sound like no one else.

Now it's time to go back and watch some of their earlier stuff, you will be amazed. The Warning absolutely rock!
I don't try to compare them to anyone, but their influences are: Dream Theater, Muse, Metallica, Foo fighters to name a few, I'm sure there are more.

Dust to Dust and The End are good choices for next imo. They both have the drummer singing lead. The first has an awesome bass intro and a heavy riff, the latter is a power ballad and one of my personal favs. Honestly though, you aren't going to find a bad song and you would be hard pressed to find one you didn't like a lot.

Great analysis of the music. You're right, this is hard rock but they don't really sound like anyone in particular. Their sound is the classic hard rock sound with other elements added. Some songs have a punk vibe, some have a pop vibe, there's even some elements of grunge. Most are just straight-up in-your-face rock 'n roll. They are probably at their best performing live and there are many pro-shot concert videos available. Pick one, they're all great.

Nice! Shot with 18 iPhones and a drone in a car dealership garage in two hours. See how they shot this here: th-cam.com/video/sky1zeuLM04/w-d-xo.html. Second single off their upcoming third album. And yet the bassist (Ale) is only 16 years old, and the drummer (Pau) is only 19. The song (as well as Choke) was produced by David Bendeth who produced Paramore and Breaking Benjamins. The video was directed and produced by Rudy Joffroy, their manager. It was edited by Gabo Ramos who directed the Choke video. These girls are from a suburb of Monterrey, Mexico. They became a band in 2012. Their first public performance was at their school during a Christmas event. They played a cover of the Kiss version of God Gave Rock and Roll to You. Their school was bilingual so they speak English as well or better than natives.
