Thanks. I remember as a kid we made them. Always a treat when checking the traps. Caught possum too! This really brings back great memories. Sounds like a church bible school project in the near future.
Looks like you're in Florida from all the plants in the background. Where I live I see maybe one rabbit or a turtle every few weeks. None of them bother me, more concerned about rats or mice but everything else just kind of comes for a visit and takes off somewhere else
Could put a small window and cover it with wire. I dont think a rabbit will beat its head and nose on it like wire on the end traps and you could see whats in it.
Best bait for rabbits is no bait if u can put a tame rabbit in your trap for a couple nights or spray rabbit cover scent no opossums this works great guaranteed
That's funny. When I was a young boy, we made these traps for rabbits. Didn't have hardware cloth, so couldn't see inside. One day I went to check my traps and one of them smelled like skunk. Left that trap never to return to it.
I use 2 screws on each side of the door. I put one at 3.5 inches from the bottom and the other at 4 inches from the bottom. Same thing on both sides of the door.
never build one trap, you will starve 😏. I have 30, and a full freezer of critter meat. I love you design, I will make my replacements this way, most likely 2 or 3 a year. the sides, top and floor of mine are saw mill slabs with the bark pulled off
This guy litteraly took the easiest trap design there is and made it WAY over complicated just so he could claim it's his design... I wouldn't buy anything this clown makes
Great job! Thank you a ton. I’m looking forward building some and putting them in rabbit runs
You are a genius 👏
Very nice job! I like the swinging door design. It seems more reliable than a sliding door, which is what I built as a kid.
Thanks Rickey!
Now be wery qwiet. I'm hunting wabbit. 😁
Thanks for the clear description and sizes on materials 👍

I caught rabbits, maybe a cat, and possums as a kid 60 years ago. Never a skunk...it was really fun as a child...
I like your design on these traps. Seems better than A Lot of the other's I've seen being made. Thank You.

You may very well be right. I have just done better without wire.

Bait it a few times till you have the smell from wild rabbits then you don't need bait
Good job
Thanks

Muinta coverssa não fica legal.

What if you catch a skunk and cannot tell what is inside?

It needs to age.. but for how long?
I usually build them in the spring and set them out in the weather until the fall. I start using them in the Fall.
I get the 4 inch mark but why the 3 1/2 inch mark

Hey can you make a porcupine trap. Thank you!
I wouldn't know where to start.
