Florida State was such a dominant program back in the 90's.
Over a 20 year period, FSU & Bobby Bowden AVERAGED a TOP 5 finish nationally.
Bowden was there before FSU was in the ACC. They were an independent school. They had a smaller stadium that barely had grass on the field.
He literally built that program from the ground up, and not only built the program, but built it into an absolute powerhouse.

Bobby will always be a legend, he was the reason Florida state was a thing and he made it and it was such a culture change but also just the way an attitude people around the team were like and just talked about family play like a family play like a team, play for each other, lift your head up high, work hard, get rewarded. The reason I became a FSU fan in 2004 was my dad, he was a huge fan but he also loved Bobby, he was an awesome coach and just an awesome person he cared about everyone no matter what you look like. He got to know everyone and he remembered everyone. Everyone needs to watch the Bowden legacy documentary.

Rip Coach Bowden. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was such an inspiration for so many. My sisters went to FSU back in the 80s and were in the band. So we went to many FSU football games.

Great interviews. Bobby's players absolutely loved him. All Nole fans love Bobby, he was one of us, he was the face of the university and FSU could not have been better represented. He was a great coach, he attracted a ton of talent, the wars with UF and Miami were epic.

Bowden doesn’t have the record but Paterno has Sandusky. I bet Bowden wouldn’t trade.
