@@jaysonsmith7264 As far as college teams are concerned; in the late 90s Chris Weinke was injured and out for the year. The backup QB Marcus Outzen lead FSU to a victory over Florida and FSU played for the title against Tennessee. // in 1994 Tommie Frazier developed blood clots and was out. Brook Berringer took over as QB and while Nebraska's offense was not the same he lead them to wins. In the Orange Bowl Brook got off to a bad start and was replaced in the game by Frazier who won the game for Nebraska and the national championship. Those are 2 examples off the top of my head.

The committee went with the teams that generate the most money. Now, we know the criteria the ACC should sue the NCAA to get guidelines on paper before this new playoff system or it will happen again.
Sorry but with the new playoff system it won’t matter, the acc winner will get an automatic entry into the tournament, everyone saying this will detrimentally affect the acc is wrong because the acc will have a guaranteed spot in the playoff as of next year. No reason to sue + Florida state had the weakest schedule of any of the competing teams. If Travis had no gotten hurt yes they’d be in but they aren’t the same team and that was shown against Florida and Louisville.
@@bentreacy4806 By the ACC getting guidelines for these decisions on paper every D1 team knows how to ensure a place in the Playoffs. Even with next year’s 12 team entry only the top 4 teams will get a bye week. The committee still gets to determine who those seeds belong to giving those 4 teams a clear advantage. There are 11 different conferences in FBS and only six of the highest ranked conference champions are guaranteed a slot. After those teams are selected, the remaining 6 slots go to the highest ranked teams not already selected. The CFP still determines the final rankings of each season without clear guidelines. They even control the money through the bowls. The committee chose the teams that will generate the most money.

Danny you are not being realistic. Ohio State has been on top forever so they stack talent each year. Michigan's Olineman got hurt (not a QB). Texas RB got hurt and they are loaded at that position. So you are comparing apples to oranges.

Alabama scored 37 in that game against the #2 team in the country. Fsu managed 16 against a team outside of the top 10. Big difference.

I'm not a huge fan of college ball, but even I understand that they got shafted. In my opinion, they should massively expand the cfp. It doesn't have to be too complicated, just expanded. If bad teams make the playoffs, let them get their asses kicked, but at least they've got a chance. And I'm not saying Florida state is bad, I'm just saying that it should be much fairer
