I’m so happy we chose Macon. When visiting the area, I was worried I would be driving to Macon for food and entertainment and had I moved to WR, I definitely would have been doing that.

FYI, the Macon Bibb County quote you posted about needing to carry a gun at all times and when you're pumping gas is from a parody page. That post was not actually posted by Macon-Bibb County.

@@frankhoward2632 thanks for the heads up! I’ll try to find the screen shot on my phone, but someone posted is a while back

MACON is better all around, especially if you want that bigger city feel, WR feels more like a spawling suburb and has always been in the shadow of Macon. I grew up in that area, and for a long time, WR was just a suburb of Macon until recent years. The US Census broke them up as 2 separate metros, but together as a CSA, which is crazy.. The only thing that WR has over Macon is RAB and the school system, which Macon Bibb New Superintendent is making a lot of positive strides, and it's changing. Most all of the jobs and industries are in Macon.

I agree! We live out in Jones County, but we started in WR. For convenience, Centerville had anything and everything you could want. Macon has fantastic dining options, and the downtown area has improved in the last decade. We also dislike traffic.

@@laurenbausch8686 Plus, Macon has a new development called "The Yard" coming to its Downtown/ 7th street Industrial District, a 2-story Golf driving range facility with 32 bays, featuring shot tracking technology and games, along with eight outdoor, covered pickleball courts. Very similar to TopGolf.

I would definitely choose Macon. So much more history and natural beauty. Better restaurants and festivals all the time. Live music, museums, parks... Downtown is fantastic. Does Warner Robins even have a downtown (I know they keep trying)...just urban sprawl...Bless their heart.

I know the mayor of Warner Robins is tag teaming with the city in order to create a downtown area. They purchased some acreage behind the mall on Watson and they have a budget set aside for it! When will it happen? I have no idea…
You’re right about the downtown over in Macon! Thanks for adding value to the conversation!
