@djsonicc I can definitely appreciate what you are saying and I absolutely mentioned what I thought stood out from an evaluation side. It can sometimes be a challenge as a vehicle evaluator to pull data when only testing one tire. Although, we didn't have an opportunity to compare other brands or the OEM tire that day, I do prefer to see differences when testing. My job was to test the vehicle and the new ADVAN Apex on this car and I thought it did well as a tuned package. What I mean by this is the tire really matched well from a steering yaw response feel and clear directness from an on-center stand point. Ride comfort was good from an impact shock side as well as being clean with low vibration characteristics. In the end just mounting up this tire and testing it, I thought it did well.
Andrew S I recently tested the Michelin’s on the 2020 Supra as well as the APEX tire. The Michelin is a great tire for sure and had slightly better directness on center feel. Grip is amazing as well and pretty balanced in limit conditions. Can’t go wrong with the Michelin, however the APEX was on its heels and beat out the Conti Extreme Contact Sport in a direct comparison evaluation. The price point on the Yokohama’s are under the Michelin’s and I would be willing to give up some slight performance differences for that saving. The cost of the Michelin’s and performance gains are not justified enough for me. Both great tires all around IMO.
@@sanddrifterjb Thanks for the comparison and information. Just picked up a set of the Yokohamas for my Camaro SS. Price difference out the door was about $500 between them and the Michelins so the value was much appreciated. I liked the factory Goodyear Supercar 3's but replacing front/rears at 20k/10k miles got old at $1200 a set, and they were very poor in any sort of weather.
@@Sniggwaffles I am looking at these for my SS as well replacing the sc3. How are they comparing to the sc3 ? Do you track them? The sc3 only lasted me 6months with 5k km with 5 track days
I absolutely hated my ST2 when it had Kuhmo Excasta. Once that car gets a proper fit forshoes, its literally gameover for V8s 😂 those cars are peppy necksnappers! 😮 OTS E30 tune and vamenos! Off to the races 😅
Thanks for the review. I grow over 1,000 plant varieties in San Diego! I have a 2015 STI with a bit of extra power. I can't decide between this tire, getting the Michelin PS4's again, or the Potenza RE71R tires. I might try these out.
Did you end up getting this advan apex bro? I just bought a set from tire rack.i like the tread design on this that look simple,which those small rocks won't get stuck most of the time.

I just put these on my focus st. I would definitely give them 5 stars. The cornering is amazing on these tires

@@ChrisspyO do it! I had Firehawk Indy 500 on my hawkeye. Replaced those with Yokohama Apex and it was a night and day difference!
