    You don’t need to convert everything to clips. Just leave the patterns as they are and hit C to switch to clip mode and you can layer your transition clips on top of the patterns. You can even put an empty clip on top of a pattern to mute it.

      Just wanted to write the same - that is how I do it too, for a drumbreak, simply doubleclick on the kickdrum and it will layer a clip over the pattern that muted the part underneath.
      For Transition FX I use clips only because it is nice and versatile.

    I usually have the clip overlap the pattern but is dope to see how you go about using the clips.

    I subscribed. Love how u word shit fam. I can understand when u are explaining it. U had me and my wife laughing cause when u were trying to think of the word I said it. I was like versatile. Then u said it my wife was like o shit u were right. I felt special dont judge me. But all joking aside. Keep up with these tutorials. You should start a page and do interactive tutorials. Like a person could join and download the scenes or sounds or whatever and go along with you as you explain step by step how to do it. Im just saying im a hands on learner. I been doing recording engineering for almost20 years and I was a full sail student as well as the school of f.i.r.s.t. in Orlando. And I learned more at a smaller hands on school then I ever did at full sail. Just an idea. Awesome page fam. Blessings. Holy shit I wrote a novel

    Great vid, very helpful. Quick question for you, is it better to use the swing function on group, global or just nudge? Maybe you could do a video on it. Thanks for the info.

      Hey thank you so much for commenting🙏🏾 That is a great question. Personally I rarely use the swing function on an entire group. I would add swing to a specific sound and use the variation for my drums to throw the off the grid a little. Thank you for your questions, I definitely might do a video on this!!!😁

    Man damn, CLIPS ARE THE SECRET SAUCE!!🤯🤯🤯 Thank you for this informative video!! I've just been stuck using pattern mode & would take out things in each group by copying patterns & removing what I need to. I see now clips make it much easier!! And see I'm one of those people who like to do everything in one box, so this does it for sure for me!! I love doing drops & it's easier on my MPC with track mute! But now this will be my workaround on Maschine!! Thanks again, very useful video!!👊🏾💯

    Bro, I've gotta ask! This my first video of yours that I'm watching btw.
    Is the Maschine DAW all you need? Can you Master with it? If not, what DAW's do you use? I just picked up Studio One and coming from something from Ableton it's a beast but in all honesty, I'm trying to look for an all-in-all solution (if there's ever such a thing, LOL).

    • @creativedwill
      @creativedwill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey bro thanks for checking out the channel!🙏🏾 I produced exclusively in Maschine for about two years. I did everything ( Mixed & Mastered in Maschine). While you can do everything in the Maschine software I will say it is very limiting compared to other DAWs like Studio One in a lot of aspects. I don’t know of anyone that record Vocals in Maschine lol 😂. But with Clips it’s possible I guess. The Maschine is marketed as a Groove production box. I personally use Cubase and Maschine. Most people I know will start their track in Maschine and then export it into another DAW to arrange and add the finishing touches on the track. My home boy Lowkey Jimmy (his TH-cam channel is Lowkey Jimmy) uses Maschine to produce and then uses Studio One to finish everything up. I do not think there is a all in one solution. Man I wish!! lol I’ve been trying so many work arounds and workflows and I’m still trying to perfect my workflow. I will Say Cubase Pro 12 is the best for me so far. Ima have to do a video showing why Cubase and Maschine are perfect lol 😁😁 Atleast in my opinion

      @@creativedwill Looking forward to that video Bro! And thanks for the reply and the recommendation on Lowkey Jimmy! Gonna check him out as well since he uses Studio One especially after I had spent quite a bit of money on it already. LOL! You've got me interested in Cubase too! Thanks also for your answer! It really helped clear things up as far as Mastering and the necessity to Master using a DAW. Oh and when it comes to Vocals. My Wife has a BEAUTIFUL voice and I want the world to hear it! Truly appreciate you! GOD Bless you! Definitely a new Subscriber here! Keep them coming!!!

    With clips and the audio module they have all the baseline tech needed to really take the sofware to the next level. Make time stretch/pitch easy to use with sampler or simply combine the AU and sampler so everything is seamless. Clips are dope but NI just gotta assume that in arranger mode, all we are doing is making small changes to specific parts of the beat. No need to even make it "clips", just provide the horizontal/traditional experience of a DAW right there. That way we get best of all worlds - Ideas mode to quickly play with our various patterns that we can then easily turn in to scenes, and then arranger turning all our scenes in to the traditional view to easily make small changes/transitions etc. Just seems like sometimes they get in their own way on stuff that's already there.

    • @creativedwill
      @creativedwill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thank you so much for commenting!🙏🏾 Yea if they added a liner DAW like time line that would make life a lot easier. I personally think if they did Maschine would be on a totally different level
