That's certainly a memorable, hairy, paddle. Wind and open water, and a shifty ballast. Good on Maggie for helping keep the front of the canoe down.

"Some good hot nosh." 😊 When I was a young boy scout in the United States back in the Dark Ages (or so it seems), and later as an adult scouter (a boy scout dad volunteer) with my boy scout son who is now grown-up, we would call them one-pot meals. Now the backpackers use dehydrated meals which I recognize are necessary, but there is just something missing about dehydrated meals compared with a well prepared and cooked one-pot meal. "Stick to your ribs" food we used to always say about them. A joy to see Maggie again with you on this your most recent sojourn. Great video . . . as usual. Keep safe from that nasty virus!

Great vid as always, I do love the broads recon i will try and get there next weekend, I like to do Horsey to Hickling then to West Somerton, only a shot walk back to Horsey to pick up the car. Funny you should have Ginge from Cornwall, I am down in Cornwall this week Kayaking, I tell you Simon its not natural down here they have these things called "hills" they will make any East Anglian feel giddy, like I say not natural. LOL.

This is the second time I’ve seen Richard’s twig stove in action, the first with Richard, and both times it has been served well. Again I’m admiring your cedar strip canoe, beautiful. Looks like great fun for the day, even with the wind and moisture. Glad it was tolerable. You and I talked about choosing a boat. You advised that I might look at the Swift canoes and I did give them a long a thorough look. Still looking, still enjoying your adventures, dreaming of someday having my own. Have you ever considered a sail for your canoe? I live right on the Corpus Cristi Bay of SE Texas and a sail goes well here. Give Maggie a scratch and a pat for ‘Ol Jeff. Texas

What a great adventure Simon, had a bit of everything in it. Food look amazing and that last part seemed a bit of a struggle, but what is life but a bit of a struggle? Hats off to Maggie she truly made this video. Cheers Mike.
