When I saw the Benelli M4 Tactical for the first time, I immediately thought, "Now that's a modern-looking shotgun. It managed to look aggressively tactical and subtly refined all at the same time.
At the time, I didn't have the money to buy one, and when I finally did, I got distracted by ARs and handguns.
That said, I finally got my hands on the M4, and as they say, the rest is going to be tactical history.

Well my unintentional response still kind of works but in this video you are definitely more correct! At least in terms of stopping power as an AK bullet might go through somebody and not all the foot pounds are absorbed...
That's a great shotgun. I've had my eye on a Mossberg 930, more in my price range. Of course, right now I'm saving up for a down payment on a dozen eggs, and a loaf of bread.
I have a friend who had a "Bkackwater Edition" 930 Tactical, he had overly disassembled it and lost a few pieces. He sold it to me for $150. About $80 later, it is good as new.
No reason to buy a Benelli when you can buy a Mossberg 930. Seven plus one and you can ghost it for nine rounds. I took it to a tactical course and I fired hundreds of rounds in the five day course. I love that thing.

Bought one as soon as the armorer wouldn't issue me one. That shotgun just gets better with age too. It never used to cycle low brass target loads consistently but it sure does now. Had mine for 13 years and just picked up a 1301. Half the weight and twice the recoil. the M1014 is an end of the world scatt gat for sure.
End of the world scatt gat is now solidly in my vernacular.
Well yeah you gotta break them in on high powered rounds. Once they smooth out they should shoot most rounds fine.
You prefer the Benelli m4 or berreta 1301?
@@colesnyder7640 M4 hands down. If I can’t break it, it’s probably unbreakable. I have the collapsible stock, Surefire quad rail with light and fire grip, eotech and 6 shell Mesa tac side saddle.

@@votered3539 it’s happened more to me on my m2 but the carrier is the same. Not fun. I replaced it with one without the cutout and solved that problem.
Replace it with a TTI carrier and see all of your issues disappear. I don't normally get things from TTI, but they knocked it out of the park with the carrier. Smooth as silk

@@JoshhHood Dooo eeet :P Makes loading so much better. Only caviat that I've found, however, is that, for whatever reason, it doesn't want to let you over or under a round into an empty chamber without hanging up. A simple tap on the carrier relives that problem, but still, annoying none the less. That said, that issue is definitely not a deal breaker and with some practice you get used to it.

Had the same model m4 for years. Love it. The Argo gas system kicks ass. Handles light target loads to high brass flawlessly. Just take the pistons out and oil then wipe everything down well. Replace the fore grip with a tri picatinny rail and throw some furniture on with a nice holo on and u have a sturdy home defense/ bear/ clay pigeon/ etc gun. From slugs to birdshot, It suits ur needs Enjoy my friend
There was a gun store in the area, it burned, my son went too the fire sale…. Paid 20$ for one. This thing had 9mm projectiles melted too the barrel, all plastics gone, I scraped the barrel while my son loosened the action up, 45 minutes later fired 3 rounds… 2 weeks later, cerakote rebuild, new furniture… 250$ total…. Baddest shotgun I’ve ever handled, shoots soooo fast!!!

They have come down in price after Beretta came out with their 1301 Tactical shotgun. Both great firearms.
Proud owner of m4 as well, just need to change up some parts from upgrade kit and we'll be golden. They're a bit of a bitch to change parts for tho.
I highly recommend going toward the tactical and retractable recoil tube/butt stock route. Better to have it than not. Just make sure to get 5 position and not 3.
Typically the tube under the fixed stock m4 is notched to accept a collapsible stock with three positions. The 7rd tube changes the game and scalar works makes a mount for a rmr that is a must have. Congrats on the 1014. They are a lot of fun.
Can confirm
Here's a couple of things I learned about owning a benelli m4 and upgrading some parts. Some of the aftermarket hand guards will sheer off the piece that the stock hand guard rest in. Out of all the hand guards I looked at I didn't see a single one mention this. Benelli is well aware of this issue and will install the hand guard properly for a little over $100. i broke mine after three shots and learned the hard way. the second thing is if you replace the stock magazine tube pull the trigger pack out of the shotgun while heating up the tube. i stopped part way into the heating step and told myself i should remove it and then said it would be fine. i warped the polymer enough that the lift tray I think its called couldn't move properly up and down. that was another $100+ to fix. hopefully this helps someone out.
Got my M4 H2O version 10 years ago. I still like it as much as the day i bought it. Very reliable and the recoil is much less than most shotguns due to the ARGO system. no other shotgun even comes close
I picked up mine this year once the gun store got stocked. Quickly made it California non compliant...

Surprisingly even a all kitted out and dolled up version of a Benelli M4 is California legal.
It's not New York, New Jersey, Maryland, or Connecticut legal though.
@@buzz2393 It is California legal from the factory as long as you don't have the adjustable stock on it. If you do, you have to pin the stock so it can't be adjusted.
@@l84cabo yeah as far as I know you can have every possible upgrade on the M4 as long as the stock is fixed. So the normal fixed stock, the skeletonized stock, or the adjustable stock pinned in place.
In New Jersey, closest bs state to me, you can't have more that 6 total shots in a shotgun (so ghost loading can get you in trouble) and adjustable stocks are a no go as well. It's all stupid as far as I'm concerned.
So good to see other people geek-out when they get a new one.
The Benelli M4 is amazing. I’ve got one in desert camo, and it’s just a beast. Especially with an extended tube and breech plug.
My buddy and I both Marines and both with service with a gov't agency tried REALLY hard to create a malfunction with my and aside from extraordinary measures we couldn't. In short, it is a combat shotgun that will be there when you need it.

Technically they did; Owing that Benelli was acquired by Beretta, the Beretta RX4 Storm/Benneli MR1 rifle probably inherited the trigger design of the Benelli M4 🤣
Ah, I didn’t know know that Beretta had bought Benelli. Beretta, 1500 years of gun making. Benelli, the most reliable shotgun, kicks more, but failure is unknown.

RX4 was replaced by the A300 and so on. I'd love an RX to go with my CX and PX, but what I wouldn't give for an MX4. The X makes it Xtra cool.
Benelli is under the Beretta ownership umbrella...they are brothers.
Now it’s time to replace that tube and get the collapsible stock to make it the proper military M1014.

I bought a Turkish clone of the benelli m4 earlier this year, copolla t4, love this thing. Eventually I will get the benelli m4 too.

Between the Berretta 1300 and the Benelli M4 a lot of people have been saying they waited years to get them and would never go back :) that’s a sweet shotgun bro!
Beretta pro comp 1300 maybe not as tactical nor usrd by theDoD but gets the job done and haven't failed me in 5 years of thousands of shots

Went with the Beretta instead of the Benelli. Its a smooth shooter for anyone trying to save a few hundred bucks.
Beretta makes a great shotgun too. I believe beretta owns benelli so yeah both are great.
Picking mine up next week. Going to slap the Agency handguard and extended mag on it for good measure and to up the cool factor. I decided that if I was going to get a shotgun, it was going to be the best for the job (and the job ain’t dropping ducks.)

@@beerman9807 Hard pressed to find a reliable drum mag. They typically don’t work too well. Only thing I’d suggest is maybe a SDS Lynx 12. Takes standard AK and Saiga 12 accessories as well as Saiga mags. Just stay away from promag

I love my Benelli M4 with the fully length titanium magazine, side saddle, tactical light mount and collapsible buttstock.
The Ferrari of shotguns. Fun to shot . Lower recoil than most. Love it. $$$
That recoil isn't bad at all. Man shooting my friend's shotgun think its a Mavrik. Blowing our your shoulder.
The Benelli m4 is probably one of the softest recoiling shotguns out there. Especially with heavy loads.

I love mine.. I have the H20. Looking for the collapsing stock. I have a std. stock. The stock is long for some and if you wear body armor, it's nice to have adjustment. Added items, tactical light, door breach compensator and side saddle ammo holder. Adding the 7 round tube and will allow me to ghost load with 9 rounds. Fun to shoot slugs at the range. Loudest guy in the place.

I too have waited upwards of 10 years to buy one. The $2,000 price tag for a close quarter gun essentially made me hesitate to buy one. Fortunately, I picked up a used one for $1,200 in brand new condition. Thing was spotless and immaculate, and still is. Absolutely my favorite gun, but wont tell my others that. especially when you close the bolt on it, that sound is other worldly
Save your money and get the Baretta 1301. It's essentially the same gun, for $700-$1000 less.

@@JR-mc4wg i own a 1201fp witch is comparable to the 1301. Neither one is remotely comparible to the m4. The barettas are toyotas while the benelli is a Lexus.
@@abelincoln2562 The "Toyota" is affordable. It actually has aftermarket accessories. The B.L.I.N.K. gas system is fast. It also seems pretty reliable, we'll find out. I'll take the 1301 over a 5 shot Lexus, with no possibility of expansion.
My 1301 holds 9 with a ghost load. Take that Benelli!

I finally got my paws on one of these after waiting almost 21 years. Was introduced to the M1014 by a buddy who was in the Marines at the time and added it to my bucket list. At the time I was living on weenies and beans so the dream was far off. Finally hit that point last month and started shopping. Last night I brought it home and put it together. Today, I'm calling in healthy to work to put 100 shots through it. I'm sharing the dream, Colion, and subscribing to your channel as well.

May I suggest the Benelli M4? Custom bolt carrier release and charging handle. Textured grips, should your hands get... wet. An Italian classic.
M4 is great! Fire the Mossberg 930 SPX tactical. You’ll be surprised at cycle speed, handling, recoil, you will be happily surprised. Many people reviewed both and like them equally. For well less than half the cost of the Bonelli. 2 A Strong !!

@@bub305 if $2,000 is a fortune for a good gun to you. Check your priorities. I’ve got multiple benelli’s. They’re all around that mark. I have a SBE2 and a SuperVinci that all easily have 5k rounds through them. 50% of that being 3.5” steel. Benellis are worth EVERY penny. Best shotgun on the market by far.
Finally got my Benelli it's a class 3 14 inch barrel and I love it.🇺🇸🇺🇸

When debating between a SCAR17S and a Benelli M4, i think id have to pick the Benelli
I've got both, you should get both.
@@sternonisoil Tempted, becauase i want a lightweight semi auto .308 accurate enough for elk and deer hunting 500yards minimum.
My MDRX isnt a lightweight for humping it up mountains. the SCAR is 0.5 to 1 lb lighter.
But i could build an AR10 for 2k and get similar accuracy if i go for a quality barrel, BCG, and trigger. and weigh 7lbs or less. a full lb or more less than even the SCAR.
but then i cant flex on the poors either.

@@douglasshouganai2516 I have no doubt you could find/build an Ar-10 that would work as well or better. Especially when you consider flexibility of parts/optics and there are still a few Ar-10's I wish I had now and will get someday down the road but the scar is always gonna be one of my favorites.

Question: is the M4 hands down Better than the M3? I like the convertible option of the M3 but the m4 is sweet too not sure which to buy.
I'm in the same boat I wish gun ranges/ gun stores in my area. Rent out both so you can have a back to back comparison.
M4 is really heavy, that’s my biggest complaint
An m1 Garand is heavy. The m4s weight. Makes the recoil so nice. It truly is not heavy if you handle a M1 all the time.

Bought one a couple months ago, set off 50 rounds of slugs my first day out and had to rest my shoulder for weeks lol amazing gun though!

I like it. I have thumb hole on my center fire rifles, I think with the pistol grip would take alot of recoil off yer shoulder

I remember a guy on a task force I was training reported to the range with a freshly parent department issued, but not new, Benelli with a 14 inch tube. He went to load the mag, but it would not accept more than 3 rounds. We took the cap off and found a precious user had apparently used a twig as a field expedient plug - was probably trying to hunt with it. I’m not a shotgun fan in general - sort of recoil sensitive - but Benelli makes a nice shotgun. Great video review!
