In this video, I'm sharing my love for the Benelli M4 shotgun and all the modifications and upgrades I've made to it. Although I appreciated its stock configuration, I had some exciting ideas in mind before I even purchased it.
So, I'll take you through everything I've done to make my shotgun better for me.
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments section.
What other modifications or upgrades do you think I should consider for my Benelli M4 shotgun?
Let's have a conversation about this fantastic firearm.

That's a very nice shotty, as an Aussie I find as much as Americans can pretty much have whatever you want, you also have an amazing amount of small rules to make it difficult. I cannot get that shotgun as a semi auto but I can get various models as a straight pull. Adding the lights, sight etc is the fun part as I have a Bioto tactical coach SxS with a flashlight, red dot sight and shell holder on the stock which is a hoot to use.

Not only is the “neutered” version already expensive as it comes, but all the things you must do to it afterwards to get it back to somewhat if it’s original configuration.
Freedom Fighter Tactical was my go to. It’s expensive but it’s decent aftermarket hardware. I got their truckee forend, collapsing stock, enlarged changing handle, mag tube extension and a few other things but it was a grip on price 💰
Only thing I’m missing is the trijicon RMR which goes pretty well with this shotgun.
Anyways, awesome gun but definitely a large financial investment. Especially if you intend to swap out parts etc. kinda pissed me off a little bit lol 🤠

There are other shotguns that are giving the M4 a run for its money, namely the Beretta 1301. But the Benelli M4 still holds the gold medal in terms of durability, reliability, and finish resistance. Many other options are better than the M4 but it still has its place and purpose and still is incredibly reliable.

Hey brother, I'd recommend putting a hand stop on your support side of the rail, up front (opposite from your light) so you can rest your support thumb over it. It's a little thing i do on my rails, even on my AR platforms. Even on a gun that's perfectly comfortable to C-clamp, it gives you somewhere to rest your thumb without making any noticable compromise in stability, as well as something to post against cover. At the end of the day, do what you want, just keep looking cool and fighting the good fight.

The M4 is only semi auto while the M3 can do both with the flick of the thumb on a selector switch. Don't expect to walk into a gun shop at any random day and walk out with one. • @whomagoose6897
      @whomagoose6897 ปีที่แล้ว

There's quite a few names for ghost loading. Carrier loading, preloading the lifter, I even heard stack loading. Same process just a different name. The only thing about all ghost loadable shotguns is you must have a bottom attached lifter. Most shotguns have bottom attached shell lifters. Only Mossberg and Maverick pump shotguns cannot be ghost loaded. The lifter is attached to the upper half of the receiver. Only the Mossberg 930 has a bottom lifter. One more shotgun that cannot be ghost loaded is the Ithaca #37 shotgun. There is no ejection port on Ithaca shotguns. All loading and empty shell ejection is only at the bottom.
Ghost loading is possible with Remington 870, 1100 and all other Remington's. All Winchester shot guns, all Beretta's, all Benelli's, all Stevens, all of the Turkish made shotguns.

The sexiest part you can add to it is the Benelli M4 Muzzle Brake with included non Choke Adapter. It turns it from wow to Holy Shit WOW. And yes keeps the front from moving pretty damn good. Mine is overly stupid rule compliant and was stupid over expensive to do. Got the H2O version. Best handling shotgun out of the ones I have. I would say the recoil is about 20%-30% less than my Supernova. Smooth as Silk. Wanted to keep the upscale H2O look so ended up ordering the Tube from Benelli-(took 4 Months to get) and changed the follower and spring. Personal pref. but I hated the adjustable stock so went with a Mesa Tactical Urbino Stock. Awesome limb saver and perfect size for me. Looks more hot rodded too and the pokey old stock won't get caught up in clolthes, jackets or other gear.. Comfortable cheek rise and solid. Spent another grand+ but it's what I wanted.

IMO this is the best combat shotgun ever built and I believe it does not need any upgrades or tuning at all, so far that you can actually make the M4 worse by adding/removing original stuff. @@zach9036 I definitely understand that rationale. The M4 is definitely vibe and I understand the appeal as a grail gun. I’ve owned both, and for the money the 1301 is definitely the best bang for your buck (pun intended). Sold my fully decked out M4 at the height of the pandemic…definitely regret it when I see videos like this.

Great video on an amazing weapon, hands down the best weapon on the streets while deployed. Carrying the M4 in an urban environment allowed you to take out insurgents where ever they hid. With the M4 you could skip shoot any where to clear ladder wells, down alleys around corners etc. You could breach entries ways and generally place terror into anyone on the receiving end with a hammered pair. Practice your tactical and combat reloads and and just keep pushing, thanks for the good memories,

Tube is worth it for sure. Larger charging handle, a way to mount a light. Everything else is just personal preference.

I just checked out one without the pistol grip, the standard stock, and I liked it a lot. I definitely liked it more than the one with the pistol grip. So all it would need is the mag tube. Around 1850. Want it bad.

My M4 is setup pretty similar. I run the DPP on the rail of Mesa Tactical side saddle it's mounted on. I have the Midwest Industries handguard as well, it's great. I ended up spending way too much money at FFT as well to undo the neutering; my M4 came with the collapsible stock, but had to replace the receiver extension to allow it to actually collapse. The M4 really is such a beautiful and fun gun!

I put several "upgrades" on my M4. An expensive ($380) well made forend with multiple M-Lok slots and Picatinny rails .Installed a laser and a lower triangle grip This was my second because the first one loosened ($285.).A 7 round mag tube was essential!
Also three different larger charging handles (steel and Titanium), an Urbino stock and a larger bolt release. Meprolight sights don't work so in the junk drawer!
The forend made the gun too heavy and the grip felt bulky so I removed it with the laser and lower triangle grip. The heavier charging handles would fly out on occasion while shooting heavy slugs so I went back to a handle that is only a bit larger than stock to have less mass. The Urbino stock had the rubber grip loosen which I epoxied back but the the entire unit loosened while shooting so I bought the 3 position adjustable Benelli stock.
Bottom line, the only accessories I now use are my new Romeo 5 Red Dot sight, a slightly larger charging handle, the bigger bolt release pad (a must have) and the adjustable Benelli stock.
The gun is lighter, more ergonomic and I now have a parts drawer with well over $1.5 K worth of hardly used parts for the M4 but I did learn why Benelli designed the gun as it did!
I should have left it as new with the exception of the stock which had no hand grip and the length of pull was far too long, the bolt release which was a PIA and the 5 round mag tube which was ridiculous.

I know you don't want too much blur but I think the video would look a lot more professional if you reduced the shutter speed a bit to make it less framey. I have a display with a really slow response time that adds blur (effectively anyway, more complicated than that) and its framey for me, so I'm sure it looks a bit tiring to watch on OLEDs/fast LCDs panels.
If the reason for it is more necessity because its really bright where you're filming, you can't increase focal length and setting your ISO higher adds noise then fair enough. If its to make the shots of you shooting look better then you could always just have two presets and only use this one for the shooting shots, something a bit "slower" for the shots of you talking.
I really enjoy your content mate and I hope you take this feedback/criticism in stride, just my opinion and if you disagree with it then fair enough!

Only reason for 922r compliant is if you decide to sell it. We need mass non compliance on everything ATF. All those upgrades you could've gotten a Langdon Tactical 1301 and went to a shotgun course with the left over money. It's criminal that Benelli M4 doesn't come with oversized charging handle and bolt release. Benelli bite is real too. Weld that carrier.

Bought my M4 in 2004 as soon as civies could buy one. Came with the adjustable and fixed rifle stock .Upgraded to 922 r and added a eotech and forward push button light. Attached velcro shell card. Oh, and added the FF extension mag with their spring . Wouldn't take 7 rds. So ordered the oem spring and then took barely 7 rds. With a ghost rd, now I've got 9 rds. 😁

some shells are longer than others so you just need to find the right length shells for the perf youre looking for. i would def run the aftermarket spring, specifically the spring from FFT, i believe its wolf or something like that.

If anyone buys a Benelli M4 - get the last of the “11715” skus. They have the collapsing stock. They have the extended tube. And they have a threaded barrel for chokes + suppressors. You don’t have to screw around with trying to find parts on the market.
Also, none of the Gen 2 Benelli M4’s have threaded barrels. Something else to think about, especially if you want to suppress it.
