A bit too dramatic in my opinion. I felt like his character completely changed throughout the season. Jokes got less well written, timing seems not as good, and character motivations seem less true to who we've gotten to know over the years. I know he's a beat cop, but what happened to the proud cop who fought discrimination for decades? Suddenly he's a beat cop for a year, and just gives up caring about being on the force. He should be pushing the boundaries of being a cop, putting the detectives to shame. Not sulking around, making cheap jokes and complaining about everything.
