We appreciate your detailed review of the Hiboy. Your feedback helps us improve and provide the best possible experience for our customers.🥰
Thanks for sending it over! Was a fun one to test out.
You want to send me one? I do scooter reviews as well.
I’m about to change front tire on my daughters.
Your company needs to put an odometer on your scooters. Other companies do and it helps a great deal.
@@bozmeg6918 my company ? Do you mean the one I work for Bird?
I literally just got s2 today. I love it. Rode it about a mile just to test it out - I love it. I’m a 5’10 215lbs man and it was quick to accelerate. The app is good - and the scooter feels premium
Oh very nice! They make some really solid scooters especially for the price. Currently my best recommendation for budget level scooters
I bought one directly from Hiboy, approaching 100 miles. I changed the front fork to one with suspension ($100 on Amazon). Very happy.
Oh very nice, how easy was the upgrade?
@@UnboxAnalysisOfficialits pain to change. But the ride is smoother.
Can you link to the fork?
Can you link the fork u bought
4:09 "...without having to have air in the tires." That's music to my ears! I was so sick of having flats on my rear wheel of my bicycle during my work commutes, so I decided to look for an electric scooter, instead. Now the bicycle can just be a backup plan in case the scooter kicks the bucket.
I've been waiting to see this review
You should get one!
I'm planning to buy for my son. Thanks for review.
Hey very nice he will love it!
Sweet. Thank you
Congrats on winning the drone, Hope the kiddos enjoy it!
Great video Gary
Thank you!
This looks super convenient and I dont know why I just now have thought about getting a scooter.
For a budget plug and ride kinda thing this is great, some of the other commenters pointed out that if you want to mod them this might not be the best choice though!
Great review bro
Appreciate it thank you!
Ive had mine for a few days and i absolutely love it.
Great Review
Time bomb - handle bar disconnected at 20mph!! I loved this scooter until yesterday. I’m in my mid 40s and use this scooter to commute. Yesterday the handle bars and pole tore off the scooter like wet cardboard. Less than a second later I was skidding on asphalt and the scooter base went into oncoming traffic. Luckily I didn’t get run over and no one else was injured. Banged up myself pretty bad.
IMHO this should be recalled - this could have been a fatality had a car been behind me.
The design itself is flawed by putting screws in the same location as a stress point - it is just a matter of time before the metal fatigues. Was 8 months for me before the bomb went off.
Oh wow, can you add me on instagram and send me pictures of the damage/broken part? Also how many miles did you have on yours? (instagram is in video description)
I noticed also some S2 Pros come with solid rubber tires and some come with honeycomb tires. The honeycomb tires version also has different shaped thumb controls and the brake + electronics wire locations at the lower tube are parallel to each other instead of offset.
I wonder if the honeycomb tires version is the newer updated version? I got sold the solid rubber tires version and just noticed the differences. HiBoy needs to notify customers of this instead of allowing retailers to sell older versions for the same price, customers thinking it is the latest one.
On their website it shows you can get a new front wheel with the honeycomb tires, but shows the rear wheel with the solid rubber tires. Gets confusing as to which type of tire they are going to send you.
They are good (bumpy tie) front tire wears out quickly. But I would still recommend. If on budget. Much better one would be Gotrax G3 for $100 more. Much better ride
Is the gotrax worth checking out? Got any other recommendations? I'de like to order a couple diff. ones to test out in the future
@@UnboxAnalysisOfficial G4 would be best as steeps above but the G3 is what I sell to my friends.
Would you have to buy a new front tire, like once a year or something? I'm considering getting this scooter for a work commute, and I'd be riding it twice a day, M-F, maybe 14 miles total each day.
@@Kyaro8888Cari I would buy the G3. That solid front tire is very rough.
Does it come with a serial number
I have the Hiboy s2 it's great had it for 5 months no problems at all. Highly recommended. Very bumpy ride but worth the money
Hey man have you ever encountered a pebble/rock? Did the scooter simply ride over it or did it stop like a skateboard? Lmk thanks!
@@en_vy yes big time Lol
😂
Is the ride bumpy with the seat too?
@@en_vymost the time the rocks just fly off the scooter so no it won’t stop your scooter unless the rock is huge…
Appreciate the review I found it to be thorough While others went over a dozen scooters without going in depth what each could really do I was confused in my choices
🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏾
No problem glad you liked it! Just did another one on the Hiboy S2R Plus as well!
Been riding the S2 pro. Mileage is good if you're on eco. I'm 170lbs, I can get 20 miles on sport mode. No issues at all or of the box, but I highly highly recommend the four screws that come with the handlebars that you have to install make sure that you put loctite on those screws because they will 100%, lose.
Screw holes did line up on my S2. Pain in the butt.
Thats the first ive heard of that, it does sound like a pain. Did you reach out to hiboy?
Yes it is!!!
I agree!
Dose anyone know why my back fender rattling
The welded part on my hiboy by the floor board almost crack all around. 🙁 I don’t know if can still be welded again due to electronics stuff 🙁 planning to just clamp it😞
Woah, can you add me on instagram and send me pics of that?
@@UnboxAnalysisOfficial No Instagram, I opened it l, right now the scooter is disabled due to corrosion. Either battery or controller or both. Water came inside. I didn’t bother to fix it anymore due to expenses of parts plus the crack too😞
Thats just super odd, the reviews on the S2 are extremely great across the board. I cant find any other complaints like yours thats why ide like to see the pictures to send them over to hiboy. @@OKBAOK
@@UnboxAnalysisOfficial Yah I know, I didn’t expect that to happen. Then I realized and thinking, the weld is too weak or too much uses of the scooter 🤔If u have email let me know, if u really want to see it I send it to you. Thanks
Hi, it's me 123
Should i get this or the Niu kqi1 pro?
Sorry I dont know much about that Niu Kqi1, I will say the overall reviews and info ive seen regarding hiboy are really solid. But there are just sooo many to choose from!
Is it good on sandy and rocky terrain?
No way, solid tires are terrible!
Yeah I think Hiboy does not recommend taking this onto unpaved roads (like gravel roads and dirt driveways and general rocky areas). Not for off-roading. Probably more for sidewalks and the paved bicycle lanes alongside suburb/city roads.
Super duper video
Thank you I appreciate it!
How many miles on a full charge?
They said about 10 miles driven with 25 percent left so 12.5 minimum? Since they went on some substantial hills. Flat maybe 15
You should review some Massengill product soon. Nobody better than you bro!
It’s a 500w motor
0:10 the muffin man?
dang it art 😅😅😅😅😅
3.11.24 is verygood i buy in 2023 is oready 1 year 😊
Nice, hows it working out for you?
Can short girl ride this 5ft 2 or 5 ft 3?
yes my little brother is 4’11 and he rides it just fine.
The battery will die in or around 1and a half To Two years two cell go bad
You had some cells go bad in yours?
The scooter is !ocked? But if you plug in a charger the lock is disabled. Good to go. I tested this with S2 pro
Oh.. I didnt know this, i'll give it a try. If it really unlocks that easy, thats a problem
What happened to $299? Amazon has it for $485. So in the last 2, weeks since this video has posted it's gone up $185? Nope sorry, I was ready to buy at 300
www.hiboy.com/products/s2-electric-scooter-with-seat
Here you go, directly on their website. $299. Its still on sale
There is an s2 and s2 pro models
I think it's back to 300 now. At least, that is the price I bought it for (October 2023). At the time I'm typing this, I'm currently waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I got it from the Hiboy website.
@@Kyaro8888Cari Once you get it let me know what you think, Would love to hear some feedback!
They already went up to $499.
They are $299 and also a 5% off for new customers. I am considering buying this
@@vijayprithivbathey80145% doesn't apply to the S2. It does the S2 max, but not the regular S2.
Do i need a license to ride on the street
Here in my state no you do not.
@@UnboxAnalysisOfficial thanks. What about CA
"Is the Hiboy S2 Electric Scooter Still Good in 2023?" Nope, it never was. A cheap knock off of the tried and trusted Xiaomi M365. Just buy a second hand Xiaomi pro 1 (as it's the model with the biggest battery) and mod it to your hearts content? Want extra speed? Use custom FW. Want power? Get a 48v motor wheel. Want etc battery? Just add a Wildman bag with a battery of your choice. Want suspension? buy front and rear Monorim (or choose from a plethora of 3rd market).
Those 'bird' scooters and the models (bizarrely) you talk about are not manufactured by them, they are either Xiaomi M365's or Ninebots with a Bird sticker slapped on (guess who owns Ninebot? Xiaomi). These scooters are crap, you can't do *anything* with them.
A 13 minute advertorial...i'm disappointed in you mate.
Well lets talk about what the cost of those other ones are you spoke of. Do any of them come in anywhere near 300$? Think of it this way, people rent and ride my bird scooters a lot. Plenty of them to get to work and more, within 12 hours of riding my scooters they effectively spend the 300$ it would cost to buy a hiboy S2. So you really think its a bad idea? Its all about price to performance, I dont know a lot about the overall scooter world, But I know for a fact that if someone needs a cheap scooter, thats reliable this 300$ isnt a bad choice. Try not to get too hung up on modifications, and all the other fancy/faster scooters out there. I base my opinions on overall build quality and the value for the price.
Now are there better scooters out there? Of course, but not many come in anywhere near the 299 mark, and even if they do, the reviews on this scooter speak for themselves all over the internet.
That said, I do appreciate your input as always, but keep in mind not everyone wants to buy parts from 10 different companies, some just need a simple cheap basic way to get to work or get around.
Oh and the bird 3 is a far superior scooter to the ninebot Es2 IMO. Totally different league if on that one.
@@UnboxAnalysisOfficial Ok if you want to talk about cost you can buy a second hand (mint condition) M365 pro for around £200 (around $250)🤷♂
Looks like the M365 pro sells for around 350$ here in the US, and has a smaller motor with no suspension? and used. So for a simple solution without modding, its not only worse but its more money and used?@@SeeDaRipper...
Now if you're an enthusiast I get your point, but i dont think thats the point of this scooter.
Got my s2 pro 3 weeks ago, yes it is.
Hey very nice!
