Very nice , thanks for sharing !………. It looks like the area somewhere north of Wickenburg back in the hills maybe Goodwin masa area . I know you don’t tell locations but it looks a lot like that area .
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not sure you can call what we do "hiking". There are no trails to these sites except for an occasional game trail. Sometimes we just have to climb a hill through sparce vegetation and you could call it hiking. But sometimes we find ourselves neck deep in briars or thick manzanita trying to scale a slippery talus slope. But you really forget all the hard parts when you get the view that somebody chose hundreds of years ago.

The main site with about 9 rooms might be a little bit elaborate to be a hunting blind, but the two outlier sites with only one low-walled room could have been hunting blinds. They were both located on high ground overlooking a shallow valley with some vegetation. Seems like it might be a good place for a hunting blind. Other suggestions are that they were field houses or lookouts. They could have been all three . . . or something else entirely.

These are hunting blinds. Its the best way to bow hunt deer when you dont have high trees. We bow hunters today us store bought hunting blinds
