A few tips for climbing Sri Pada (Adam's peak) sanely:
* Don't use the route you guys took if you like to enjoy the scenery or escape the crowds. There are 3 main routes up (a few more minor more adventurous routes), and the one you took is by far the shortest, and therefore the busiest. Because of that, this route has a lot of stalls, noise, pollution etc., and does not provide a classic wilderness trekking experience nor the scenery that the others would.
* You're right. It makes much more sense to climb up and down during the daytime to escape the crowds.
* Don't visit during a weekend or a public holiday!! Just don't!!
* Off-season climbing (May- December) is much better to see the environment in a more pristine condition if one can handle some rain/fog. The climbing season for pilgrims is from December to May, and hardly anyone is there during the other months.

18:29 Sri Lanka has 4 major religions. You guys missed the Hindu religion even though you have visited the Northern Sri Lanka. " ௐ " (Om) is symbol of Hinduism. And also the Ambuluwawa Tower has these 4 religious places. When you are getting in your Right hand side their is a Hindu Temple, a Buddhist Temple, a Church and a mosque.

Guys.. I've been watching all of ur programs in sri Lanka. Even though I live in uk I'm a sri Lankan. About the "dhalada Palace" where the Lord Buddha's relyc there, all I can say is u guys went to there in wrong time and may be a wrong day.
Most probably, in weekends, full moon poya day and when special programs going on its absolutely fully crowded.
Go there in a week day at 6:00 am. That will be a fantastic experience for u all. I have taken in my British friends and they all spent hours and hours. Sitting around the lake, feeding fish, museums, and many more.

It's not about the day or the time, just wrong expectations. Do you go to Meccah and say it was overcrowded? It's the same here. I do not blame the budgeteers though, they just felt bad about being on the way :)

Point to consider when hiking up Sri Padaya:-
* There are like 10 different routes to climb up the rock and you had used the busiest route. Some of these other routes are amazingly beautiful. But they could be tike consuming and bit more adventurous which is the best part. ❤️
*Unless you go there on a non-holiday, it’s gonna be heavily crowded.
*You can climb up a bit early and rest there inside 2 cave rooms where local people stay which gives warmth. So, it’s easier to go & see the sunrise 🌄
*Don’t miss out all the scenery by trying to hurry home 😀🤘🏽

Also on a side note, before climbing the mountain people who go on the pilgrimage observe a vegetarian diet for at least a month.
Erm guys, Adam's Peak isnt the tallest mountain in the country ..it's Mount Pedro, (Pidurutalagala), in Nuwara Eliya..

We call it Sri pada place where Lord Buddha's foot print is. British people saw the footprint didn't accept it as lord Buddha's and called it Adam's peak thinking it was Adam's footprint

I felt the same way at the Temple of the Tooth as you did when I visited it. I hope that other tourists will be sensitive to the presence of pilgrims on their spiritual quests. A great episode by the way. I was really scared for Lina on the crazy tower.

Nice epi guys :) that scary tower you tried called Ambuluwawa, And I tried that when we were kids. We had a field trip, that time we were able to make it to the very top of that :) You just refreshed all that memories for me :) Thank you 3 for that :) :).
And as for the Adams Peak. Well you guys were lucky to be in the top to see the sunrise :). Last time we tried we were in the last 100m for around 5-6 hours :(. That's how it is.

You’ve chosen a pretty crowded day to travel maybe it’s a holiday and the path you’ve taken is the most common and crowded path, there are less crowded very relaxing beautiful treks to Sri Pada( Adam’s Peak). Anyway great job guys another adventure 👍👍👍

Best sunrise I've seen is Mount Masada in Israel near the Dead Sea. We walked up at 3 am and took a sky tram down. Unforgettable.

Loved this video. ❤️ You guys are amazing. Just a small correction though. Adamspeak is not the highest mountain of Sri Lanka. Its Piduruthalagala which is in Nuwara Eliya. The top of it can be reached easily on a vehicle.

Guys, I really do enjoy your videos, but, being a traveler walked far and wide in Sri Lanka and as a one immersed in landscape, history culture and wildlife of this beautiful and culturally rich island, I have to point out one thing. It is, you guys have not researched enough and studied enough about about Sri Lanka which is a culturally and environmentally most valued hot spot in the entire world. This is pretty much evident in your comment regarding Adam's Peack (The holy Shri-Paada) and the (Holy) Temple of Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). Not to downgrade your otherwise amazing videos, I really appreciate then, to emphasize tht you guys are just touching on the ,ere surface of Sri Lanka without trying to delve in to the depths she has to offer. Thanks.

Yes we almost don't research anything, or at least as little as possible to not spoil our first impressions. Its all about the travel adventures and the surprises of discovering new things for us.
Thats our main goal.
As you say, it would be nice to be fully researched about a topic, region and culture but its simply not possible with the time available to us. If we would be making an actual informative documentary about Sri Lankan culture, we would obviously take a month time to research and speak with locals but we don't have the means to do so. We go so many places and have no set plan.
We learn on the road, by what the locals and other travellers tell us. Naturally we don't get all of the facts right, we try to find a fact checker next time 😁👍
The best sunrise I've ever experienced was over the Igatpuri Hills, around 100 Kms away from the outskirts of Mumbai! You get a beautiful view over a valley spotted with lakes and ponds. The reflections on the water and just watching the sky change colours was just amazing!

I have so much respect for you guys for honoring the sacred place and its importance to the people who are there for their pilgrimage.
