Ah, your mammy is a real Sweetheart! Just discovered your channel and I am subscribing. Never knew my Irish gran as she passed when my mother was a young child in Minnesota (gran married a midwestern American when she came over with some of her siblings through Ellis Island in 1926!). Loved this Gemma I do one but it has raisins in too..yum yum...love your moms lil nuggets of tips. See your comments over US calling it cake to have with a drink where as in UK it would be a flavour, this is why we need a video off you of variations, alternative ingredients and our stork measurement conversion to the stork butter US use. PLEASEEEEEE tfs

Can we use apples which we get in our country?
Yes, you can. Use the kind you prefer. We just recommended what works well for us, but if it's not available where you are, you can use what is there. Hope this helps.

It would be good if you could list out the measurements of the ingredients below all your videos instead of having us clicking at the link.
I know this is difficult to understand, but people around the world measure in different ways. We have to give cups/metric measurements and imperial measurements. It takes too much out of the flow of the presentation, and really slows it down. We know, we tried it before, and it was just as tricky. We put the link to the recipe right by the video for your convenience. I hope this helps.
I did not understand what you said you did before and not to do something about cake pan
Hi, Valerie. I used a cake pan before with a solid bottom which made it very hard to remove the cake. Check out my recipe here, I used a springform pan this time: www.biggerbolderbaking.com/irish-apple-cake/
I never had a problem what I do is I normally line with parchment paper and I also butter a flower them very lightly and when doing like cheesecake or softer cakes I do same but to my parshment paper I put little like rectangular feet’s and just when it’s cool from fridge I pull out and make sure nothing is stuck on my borders but it works
