I don't know what it is but the honda oem outer tie rods do a much better job at resisting rust than some other OEmS, or they greased the tie rod nut from factory as mine also came out easily despite tons of rust. (honda also adds grease between the knuckle and cv axle for easy removal, some stuff they do good on)
How has the MOOG tie rod end been? Its very cheap compared to OEM ($17 vs $35-40 OEM) so its a bargain if it lasts 60k miles. Ive always gone OEM for suspension conponents, excepot for a Moog sway bar end link that, for about a year and 5k miles, is going strong.
Thank you for this Jim....how are the Moog's holding up? BTW I use Corrosion Free 3000 made near you (in low splash areas) and it has really helped. Also the Z model Powerstop rotors really seem to hold off rust. - engineer in Albany NY, also Lake George and Syracuse is where I frequent. Rust stinks

Must be back east. Never seen much rust. All that salt they put on the road. Both of my 2008 vehicle still look new here in southern California.
Yep. Northeast in Greater Toronto area, where they put salt on the salt.
