- This is going to be part 1 of many RTA guides incoming. I love the game mode and find it a shame that not more people enjoy it as much as I do. My aim here is to break down the format as simply as possible for all playstyles and heroes so more people can find their style in RTA. This series will be a complete draft guide + walkthrough starting with Standard.

You guys might notice a timestamp at 10:10 called "the most important part of the video." That's not a meme, if you can set that up for every game you draft you're looking great for a climb
This is perhaps the most concise and well explained guide on basic RTA styles. Really good examples for basics. Looking forward to more on this.

It'd be cool to see videos on how to develop your pool of heroes or what the web of counterpicks looks like for the meta atm
yeah the first topic I could probably make a video on down the line. the 2nd one is a lot harder and contains much more nuances. a lot easier to just stick to a topic like what genres of drafts look like and then develop that from there.

Great video, looking forward to the cleave / aggro videos. Got my initiators at 290+ and various DPS at 240+ so should probably be trying to push past masters now :) Accidentally ended up in challenger already just doing my game a day to stop decay.
I play aggro and my dps are 240+ too but my fastest unit is only 286, i still got to champ. If I can do it, you can do it too.

I'm a newish player, started around slime collab, and play aggro/cleave. I hit challenger today. My openers are around 295-300 so I guess I'm a little rng carried on speed gear. I looking forward to your videos on them. I feel like I literally learned to play RTA just from watching you stream. Always very informative.

My brother in Christ, you're not just a "little" RNG carried on Speed gear if you've got multiple characters at 295-300. I've been playing over 3 years & the bulk of that has just been trying to get good fucking speed gear & speed checking all I can do - I have Peira at 301 (& I achieved that like a couple days ago), A Cidd at 294 & everyone else is at least 10+ speed below that.
You've literally been handed a golden account, some folks consider me lucky because I've managed those speeds in 3+ years - you did it in less than 9 months, you've got an SG employee watching you through your webcam & feeding this gear to you. Go & speed race people into Emperor.

Q: how do you build C.Charles in standard comp? in your explanation seems like you build him slower and not fast like in cleave comp so he can get pushed forward by the dps?
also same question for Hwayoung, is it better to sacrifice some attack (like under 7k) and speed for more bruisery build (with def not hp of course)?

gonna be a lot harder for a standard closer esp since rimu/hwayoung. but if you ban around those heroes lifesteal+pen charles is basically a hypercarry w/ an alternative activation cond.
the hwayoung build you're just gonna have to experiment what works with you, if you follow link in description you can see my builds and over time I've tried many hwayoung builds and I think they all work.

It would be cool if there was like a guest speaker that focuses around each playstyle

Make a guide for the people who don't have FFC, Stene, Hand Guy, Lilibet, AoL, Aravi.
you can play cleave or tank down and it wouldn't use majority of these heroes
I just reached rank 60 but I don't have much characters built, Im a bit scared to start. T-T
one of those things where you either start early and just accept that it's gonna be a long way up or just casually play for a long time and get in when you're ready.
