I get emotional because I ran my first one this year, finished at 10h:37, it the most fulfilling thing i have ever done, Thank you for letting me re-live the experience, its yet to sink in. AMAZING. Well done😭😭😭😭👏👏👏👏👏
watching this over and over again and sharing it with friends and family !! I sure hope to go back -Bruce's words are perfectly interwoven in this Kieran thank you !!
I ran my first this year 11:57 the hardest thing I have ever done, you came back after you said you won’t , I suspect I am going back next year too! Congratulations 🎉
Kieran, you’ve got this knack of making me teary-eyed watching your films and that’s all about you gutting it out and getting it done. Like the announcer said (paraphrasing): find the hero you need, yourself. You do that so well. Thanks for the example. Congrats, buddy.
Yeah me too I got all teary-eyed watching this... sooooo inspiring!!!! You've certainly made us understand, Kieran, what an absolute bucket-list race it is!!!! Once again, huge CONGRATULATIONS!!!!💪🏃♂🏅🏅🏅🏃♂💪
AAAARGH! Comrades...it changes you. I also struggled through my first Up Run this year and met my maker and myself in profound new ways in the second half. Now that you have the back-to-back, you know you're halfway to a Green number (by Comrades math). Congrats!
Well done Kieran, I was there for my back to back as well. I see why people keep coming back to this race… it asks questions of you and the vibe is so special. The whole country is into it. We grew up watching it on tele. You’ve given back to the comrades community with these videos. 🙏 Nakanji!
Well done and congratulations on completing the Comrades marathon, sub 9 hours to top it up. What a great video! truly inspiring stuff! And oh man, this guy is funny! "one of those races, I didn't want it to end... but wanted it to be all over", haha.
I saw the tears in your eyes when Chariots of Fire played.....takes me back 24 years when i stood there and what a day it was.. Congrats see you in 2025
I spent a good chunk of time on my back after finishing my race too. The nausea took hold while queuing to get over one of the scaffold bridges after the crossing the line.
Congrats Kieran. I also got my back to back medal this year, what a beast that up run was but can’t explain the feeling of achieving everyone who loves to run has to do at least 1 comrades ❤
Great job. I really love your enthusiasm. I saw your 2023 video on Saturday evening, before this year's up run. It was surreal chatting to you at Phezulu, when you asked me which hill this was. I was confused by the question because that was just a bump. 😅. I'll be on the side of the road again in Westville next year for the down run. 👍
Awesome video. Well done again on your 2 bill rowans and back to back. I could feel your emotions. So cool that Bruce spoke to you guys. My first 2 years ago he also spoke to a dinner I was at Friday night. He's awesome. Enjoy your accomplishment.
I saw you along the route many times.. and we finished close, almost toghether (this and last year as well). Your videos are awesome... congratulations!
@@Manvmiles yeah.. I think that too... next year, probably not. The 2024 Comrades was my Green Number.. I am planning something different for next year... but I'm pretty sure I'll miss Comrades so much next year, after all it was part of my life for ten years (actually more cause of Covid-19)
Great video. Comrades Marathon, through your camera, is just special. If I had all the money in the world, I'd co-sponsor your next Comrades Marathon. Maybe it can be done. Let's see what the future brings. I ran 5 comrades, 2 DNF, and 3 finishes. I'm going for my Green Number, no matter what.
Thanks for the lovely video sharing your back to back Comrades achievement ! I missed my opportunity this year as I had to drop out last minute..But your video helped me to experience the up run as if i was there. Bruce Fordyce talk excerpts were amazingly inspirational !
You definitely coming back. That thing is addictive! Im 4 medals in and i keep saying im not gonna do it again after i completed each one of those 4 races. Great video 👌🏾
If you were to physically capture the emotions of a Comrades Marathon runner as they cross the finish line and bottle them, it would possibly be the highest priced item in the world! Priceless....
Another great video, Kieran. I've watched all your Comrades videos and was hoping I'd bump into you this time. I saw that I was just in front of you at the start, but I was chasing a sub-7 hour finish for my 7th Comrades, so maybe that's why I didn't get a chance to see you. Hopefully, we will see you complete another one of these races sometime in the future!
Gotta keep your focus when you're going for a sub-7 I'm sure. Massive congrats on that and a 7th Comrades is impressive. Maybe we'll get a chance to chat next time.
done 2 ups and 1 down and the down destroyed me. My quads were finished. Much prefer the up. Did you not have cup a soup at the finish...that is the bomb! as for the cokes...after years of running in SA you get used to the coke/water mix. Gives you a real boost. you don't get any coke in water tables in europe though, so have had to adjust
Congrats on your races. I looked at the soup tent and just couldn't get my head straight to get there! But now I know a cup of tea is my secret weapon for after. We have flat coke here a lot on ultra trail but I don't tend to drink it.
Made comment top of vid, seeing the look on your face. Then got to the end! Huge thanks for capturing the starting atmosphere! Reigniting my aspirations 😮😢😅

Kieran thank you !!
I’m so glad I captured Bruce. He really encapsulates the race nicely. Though it’s more than a race. Hope to see you back there!
I cried watching this. I ran my first Comrades this year. I am still finding words to describe it. Goosebumps!!! Thanks for sharing
It’s race that gets you! Congrats on completing your first. It takes a lot to conquer it. But it’s worth it.

Well done mate and thanks for coming through. We love having you over. I ran with the finishers.
Well done to you too.

When Chariots started it got me.
Cant get over this video! Such great edit!
What a poem by the great Bruce Fordyce, absolutely beautiful!
Bruce's poem is amazing!
💯💯really is!
I spent a good chunk of time on my back after finishing my race too. The nausea took hold while queuing to get over one of the scaffold bridges after the crossing the line.
It’s a race that seems to do that to people! Great to chat to you when we were both feeling better

I 100% agree. This should be on all runners’ bucket lists. Congrats again on your back to back
Shosholoza. So powerful. Thanks for sharing your experience Kieran
Was a humbling experience again. Feel very lucky to be able to be part of it.

Thanks mate. It was pretty stirring stuff. And the speech by Bruce after just topped it off.

Beautiful video. Great Bruce Fordyce poem at the back round towards the end 👌🏿

Wonderful. Your face - stress and joy altogether. Well done and good luck

If you come back next year and do your third then you are halfway to that Green Number and may as well keep going 😉 Great video!
Ha ha, halfway to Green!!

Well done and thanks for sharing... hope to see you next year. I'm going for my green number (10th comrades).
Good luck for your Green number chase!
we ate em hills champ
We did!
How about that permanent number now???
Well, it's tempting but it's a lot of money to fly out each year. If I lived closer I'd be back every year for sure.
@@Manvmiles I thought the pound vs rand makes this much easier????
@@pauldbeer That helps once you're in SA but the flights are the big cost.
Only eight more to go for your green number….
😂😂😂😂 Only...
