- Amp swap and setup for folks going for a budget build. I did get back to 20v output, I had the EQ on the HU setup for the first amp and didn't reset it first. All good now and it rocks!! Links to equipment used below. #harleydavidson #streetglide

Did you ground to the battery or chassis from the amp?
Ground lead goes to battery. You can watch Volunteer Audio install videos (they do tons of Harley audio installs) and they got direct to battery.
@@mjdcycles thanks bro I will check his video out! I'm getting static but pretty sure it's the AV connections to the, yes 😔, Soundigital 800.4 Evo4.0 amp. They share a common ground but besides that the two infinity fronts sound good. That bike stereo sounded great by the way!
@nohandsdan9353 if you are using RCA cables try twisted version. If you get static on FM radio it can also be LED light interference.
@@mjdcycles I'm using the ds18-ry harness so the AV cables are built in but I do have custom dynamics LEDs all over and all plug n play. I'll check that out tonight after work. My bike is a '21 SGS
@@nohandsdan9353 looks like twisted pair AV cables on that harness. If the static comes through on all sources it may be wiring/ground. If it's only when using the radio, it could be LED light interference. All my sources are clean but a few radio stations got wrecked after installing LED lights.
You have to upgrade the ground as well. Both wires should be 8ga, oxygen-free copper (OFC), and not copper-clad aluminum (CCA). Both need to go all the way to the battery.
Great job using the oscilloscope, but the ground is limiting you. Electricity needs to return to the source. Ground needs to be the same as the power wire.
The pwr & ground match. They are both the same length, 8ga, and go back to the battery.
He used 8ga ground did you not watch the video?
Should have grabbed a Soundigital 800.4 and call it a day.
Yeah, that looks like a great option too. Hadn't even seen that before.
@@mjdcycles worth the price and has all the real power you would ever need for upper and lower fairing speakers. And it's smaller.
