Not sure how MJX managed to make the camera look so much worse than footage from my 2 year old Bugs 2W, and that oscillation is a real worry, the video is unwatchable. Oh dear MJX...And it doesn't even look like a Bugs either!

I agree that's a pass. I also think that this level of drone is outdated. Technology has a habit of outdating pretty fast these days.
I usually wait to end of video, but halfway through I have to say as of right now 👍🎉🎉👍👍👍for lanes flying. ☠☠☠☠ for this drone. Best thing about it is the brand. That's it. This is a real stinker 🤭🤭🤭🤭.

It looked good till you got it in the air. Not much good to say about this one other than it had a decent flight time. Nothing wrong with 2k video. Unless you have a dedicated video editing computer or gaming computer most of us don't have computers that can easily handle editing 4k video.

Went ahead and purchased the X103w from Banggood. To say that I am TOTALLY disappointed with the purchase is an understatement. I like the size/weight and the finish of the drone is nice but the drone can't seem to fly in the lightest of winds. I have not had a single successful flight in GPS mode. As in your's and JD quad videos the drone is prone to a upset wobble and loss of control (not 100% sure why but suspect that the control algorithm for recovery after an disturbance/upset is incorrect. The controller gains have to be adjusted by MJX). Can break the unstable wobble by quickly switching out of GPS mode, manually regain control and putting back in GPS mode. Only successful flights have been hovering indoors either in GPS mode (zero satellites) or Gesture Mode (totally manual control). I would note that Yaw gain is very high and control is sensitive while the other control functions are dead or dampened. Have had outdoor flights where control input did not give any response.
Video is poor (major jello effect - could be props or brushed motors with no camera stabilizer) but still pics are OK (high shutter speed). Tried Point of Interest mode with total failure. Drone started circling, wandered off, lost control and wobbled to the ground. RTH = Rise to High Altitude (not sure if this feature works as advertised return to home). Will play with it some more but based on my experience I would rate this drone as a ZERO out of five. I would not recommend to anyone and in my case, not worth returning to Banggood.
Wonder if the SJRC Z5 has similar problems.
Not sure why they would make a drone that cannot be stable, regardless of the price. 1080/2k/4k... that still confounds me. I have a 4k TV but there is no real content yet. A few folks may want a 4k as a pro drone but 1080 is okay for all other drones. Bottom line, in my opinion is, even a starter drone must be stable and easy to use. This did not make the cut. Thanks for this.
Too bad MJX doesn’t put a ginble on their drones and the brushed motors are a mistake that kid is a great at flying planes, I hope mjx doesn’t start dropping the quality I like their drones, well great video guys as always ⚓️⚓️👍

Well, the X103W is a bust, as we now know thanks to this episode. I hope MJX can regain its usual standards. I like the track! I enjoyed Lane's aerobatics!
No thank you I would like a GPS drone like the bugs 3 or f 11 for that price or around 250 with a better camera and brushless motor
Thanks for the video and the honest opinion. I was hoping for a good recommendation on this drone also... you just save me a few bucks. I think the candidate for my first foray into drones (after a couple tiny indoor toys) will be the SJRC F11!!
I have a MJX x103W. It works for me but I paid less than than $90. I guess my expectations are lower than most others.

I think you are right. When you can get the Zino for in some cases $250 ... why buy a brushed motor drone?
Good video I just ordered that drone on eBay for 60 bucks hope I have better luck with it than you did. I seen some good reviews and bad reviews.
I have one it's a good flying luv that's right the GPS is good you have too set it up before flying or it want fly right set it right every time before you fly don't luv brush motors but there easy too replace if the motor burns out you can look up a set of motors all 4 motors too replace I replace the motors in my husband 105 desire with GPS had no problem putting in new motors at all it depends how much you fly it I have a bunch of drones that the motors are brushless motor that last longer but cost a lot of money some of the drone I have are over 500 hundred dollars they get really expensive best of luck to you Mike Holden out of north Carolina said that
Between that and the new "Bugs" that MJX recently released, it's not looking good for that brand. Both of them are pretty terrible IMO. Hard pass.

Terrible video quality from this drone.
According to the product page, "Mechanical gimbal stabilization. X103W equipped with single-axis mechanical gimbal, which can reduce shake and keep shots stable effectively." Think of this statement while watching the footage recorded by TheRCSaylors. Have you stopped laughing yet??

I like the app a lot BTW. But the drone is made of snot it seems with props in view. Trust me, they can build one with good video alright for $100. But they won't. It is politics.

This toilet bowling can be a problem with the magnetic sensor. Did you calibrate?
Generally, drones with position hold requires a camera gimbal for camera stabilization. The drone will trying to keep it's position using pitch/roll and this will give you unstable videos.
If you can disable the position hold I think the video will be more stable. Or even better if you fly acro mode.
But this one also have a ton of jello which is probably imbalanced props.
There's no point in buying a camera drone if the camera isn't useable . You'de be better of buying a non-camera drone that works well for 50$ than this one. I'de rather spend 150$ on a used good condition phantom 2 of 3, that would make more sense. Great video guys as always.

I agree with your assessment, Nate. This drone is not worth it. I'd rather spend a little more and get a more stable drone. I like my Hubsan Zino which I got on sale now that it has its latest firmware updates. And it has 2 points of cool factor with an RC Saylors sticker on the front! ❤️⚓⛵😁

I just received a X103W and it is the worst flyer with the worst video of all of the UAVs we have used and tested. The terrible results were surprising because our B4W works well except for the poor video quality. This is going back for a refund or credit towards another B4W. This was of interest because it weighs less than 250g , has electronic cam tilting and landing/search lights. If you are considering the 103W just pay a little more and get the B4W or a DJI UAV.
I think they're using a security cam for the camera...there's so much fisheye, which would kill it for FPV. This is a real step down for MJX :-( It's sad that they put out something like this when there's better than this available for a bit more or the same. The Bugs 3 was a game changer, this one is just to make a brushless more than 1080p "me too" drone...hope they come back with better!
No, I'm not in the market for a GPS drone with brushed motors with bad video! Abby is correct when she said that folks are waiting for a Hubsan Zino quality type drone to come down into the $200 range...

For someone looking to spend $100.00 and does not want to spend $200.00 I'd say this would be fine....honestly if I was going to drop $200.00 on a drone then I'm going to be willing to spend more like $400.00 to $500.00 range or more. A $200.00 + buyer is someone that is going to be doing alot of flying and is very involved in the hobby. This drone is perfect for people that want to fool around with a drone every once in awhile. I'd say in this drones price range its as equally built and performs as most others in its price range. Some may be a little better and some may be worse. You shouldn't buy this drone and expect dji or other top brand performance and quality. Just my opinion. Appreciated the flight footage and your opinions of this drone.
You-all are experiencing something I and my friends have not experienced. My camera streaming has very bright images and photos. Are you using the MJX GPS app or what? You might try the BUGS 4 app...
I don't care to have one of these. I had a Bugs 3 and I still have a Bugs 3H. But pertinent to this subject, I still trust my old standby MJX X708 Cyclone. The name is humorous, but the drone does what I need it to. I bought it after y'all reviewed it. They don't sell it any more. It suits my needs very well.
I think this drone is aimed at people who don’t live in the US cause the Zino costs around $400 in Australia. So people in other countries, maybe India and stuff will buy a cheaper than the Zino, or the bugs Range drones. I think the props of the drone are the issue on why the drone is unstable cause the foldable props loose its strength when the wind hits it. Dji drones have systems that contour this but this cheap drone doesn’t have that. Drones in Australia are way more expensive our wages are round the same as the US. This drone will cost around $200 on Banggood in Australia.

I was all set to give you a hard time thinking you were being way to optomistic at first then you got more critical at the end. I think this thing is a disgrace for this price point. My drocon dc014 is cheaper with a better camera and is more stable. There is no way I could justify 120.00 for this MJX.
Well I picked up mine at a bargain bin store looks like new in the box got it for 30 bucks was half off day 👍🏼 . Looks like it has some excellent features . Wouldn’t spend 200 bucks for a good drone so I think this will be a great starter.

Not for myself, but if you're having to find space in your car, or you want to have something in your car all the time. But I'm not seeing anything that makes me want one.
I bought one of these drones, don’t waste your money. The wobbling, spiralling, no stabilisation etc. is all I see. I think this is a fair review.

I have an Autel Evo so not in the market but I’m open to seeing new. I like the technical stuff so if you want to go deeper I wouldn’t mind.
Not this one ... I'd rather invest 2, 3, 4 hundred dollars to have a quality product that is usable and fun to fly.
I think brushed drones are on the way out because brushless prices will come down and a few brushed will still be available for beginners to learn on. Just a thought.

mine also did some crazy stuff and dropped did not hit the ground wander what is causing that ?
I bought this drone after watching this review, I so regret it. It flew very unstable, it kept flying away and last time it flipped and crashed. (Calibration process was done correctly)
Might want to check the video upload date. Any reason you didnt buy something much more recent that we reviewed? And just out of curiosity, did you happen to purchase through our link? If not, many companies sell slight variations of drones, so you may have gotten a lemon.
That drone is junk I know I wouldn't buy it. The video is bad.
