Thanks! It’s a smooth, pretty predictable flyer and just has this “floaty” aspect to it. This plane definitely flies differently than most that I own, and it certainly looks different, too!! I keep it for those reasons, and obviously it’s insanely fun and the price point is nice because it means I can be a little more brave with it. 🙏👍😎💯⚓️
I'm so disappointed the UMX version has no ailerons. They could have easily made it brushless added ailerons and kept it under 250g. 😥 Call me a Whambulam!
Honestly, if I were dreaming up a UMX SUS, that would have been it, too. However they went a totally different route here, which I guess was fine, also. The last ultra micro they came out with was the UMX Vapor I believe, so there’s been a lull for that class of airplane. Maybe that’s why they went this route? 🤔🤷♂️ Either way, I love the bigger SUS for $199.99 minus however much because of whatever points I have accumulated 👍💯😎😁⚓️
I love rudder elevator setups like the little one and the little radian as well. They have their place. I do need an indoor plane. Winter is on the way soon in South Dakota. I bought a Chinese “Ice Cream” that arrived non-functional. So this would a more quality replacement. Or the night vapor.
I own a first release vapor. It doesn’t have any safe or self leveling on it, but it flies incredibly smooth. I can even fly it outside in a gentle breeze. It actually is a little more fun to fly it in a gentle breeze. Looks like this UMX can handle a little bit more wind. These make great trainers. Things happen very slowly and it’s a good for your coordination when the plane is coming or going from you. They are tough planes. I have yet to buy a prop for mine and I’ve nosed it in a number of times. My recommendation is that you buy a lot of batteries so that you can just unplug and plug in a new one and you’ll have a great time.
She said she wanted to try this plane again which gave me an opportunity to fly my old but very fun Slow Ultra Stick and I’m so glad we went out to do this! Fun!! 👍💯😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors that’s awesome and beautiful weather too eh my friends it’s been raining 🌧️ here in Canada but at least it’s hot outside still 😊😊😊⚓️⚓️⚓️
Today is actually the first rain we’ve gotten in Months!! We are in a record setting drought right now believe it or not. It only rained for maybe an hour, if that but wow we needed it. All grass is 💀 and many small trees are starting to hit that level too, as well as flowers and shrubs. Lots of brush fires lately too. Hoping you get some nice weather soon my friend! ⚓️
Good to see Abby getting some more stick time. I want one of those lil guys..I like em both really. Too bad the smaller guy's a little pricey. 6:42 Not unlike "Launchfidence", I think you should trademark "sportrainer" too. Yeah, I liked that bigger one the day it came out..
@@TheRcSaylors I get it, for someone getting into flying or still learning, taking it out of the box and flying quickly it’s okay priced but I come from the world of helis and being in the hobby for 20 years, that being said you could build something better performing for the same price. Plus I’ve seen the same style of plane for $139-149 this just has the horizon tax lol
Enjoyed your review of these 2 planes. The micro UMX stick is a good first try. However, I think a better pick to fly would be another micro stick plane that comes equipped with all the bells and whistles and comes in a great color (red or brown). Check out RageRC for their Micro Vintage Stick X4 RTF with PASS, all for around 100 bucks that has full flight controls and runs on an included 1s 400mAh JST battery. I would love to see you do a review on this micro stick plane.
What is it that you like so much about the NX7? You seem to use this particular TX a lot. Ps. Love to see comparison videos. And ... love, love, love, seeing Abby on the sticks. 👍😊
I wouldn’t say that I love it, but have been testing it thoroughly since its release on day one! It has some pros and some cons though, and I’d be willing to bet that I have more flights on this transmitter than anyone else in the world, lol! I’m hoping to do a short video on it soon-ish. 😁👍😎💯⚓️
No code for it, it’s just $199 BNF at the regular price which is awesome! However if you buy it using our link, not only do we get a small kick back, but you earn points on the website which will discount your next purchase!! 👍💯😎🙏⚓️
Very good take off Abby. Ya both flew great. Abby you forgot to see 👀 if your mini me > will it snap < mini deserved to have a go @ it.😊😊. Maybe next time. ⚓️⚓️👍💛🧡💚👍👀👍⚓️⚓️.
In all fairness, they did make a Habu that is technically a trainer, yes. I think it was basically their first EDF trainer ever, and the beautiful thing about it, is how slow and stable it flies. While it might not be the best trainer in the world, it’s certainly the best EDF trainer and definitely falls safely under the “trainer” category! We’ve done a few videos on it and it totally checks out! In fact, a couple of our good friends have made that Habu trainer a part of their early RC flying learning experience and love it!! 👍💯😎⚓️
Yes, it would be really nice if the small version had ailerons too. I know what they were going for here on this, which is very nice for casual indoor flying. However I’d have loved to see something higher performance in the UMX family. I’m sure a lot of people will buy these that live up north and fly indoors year round though. 👍💯😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors I bought a used one but haven’t flown it yet. I ordered that red foamie Abby had so much fun flying today. I have about 55 planes but always looking for new stuff. lol. Love your vids.
I should probably turn that off. It is however, on by default. I assume you mean the beep that happens when I either go above or below 30% throttle? 😅⚓️
The Vapor is more expensive. Any good reasons to justify the higher cost? Wait, I see I was looking at the Vapor RTF vs UMX SUS BNF. Well, I still wonder which one to get to try to fit in a small backyard.
@boomupengineering both you can fly indoors but the vapor has lights making it easier to fly later and even at night with low lighting. The umx stick does have a foam wing making it more rigid but the vapor is easier to fix wing damage.

The larger Slow Ultra Stick is by far my favorite plane I’ve flown since getting into the hobby.
Nate I really like how the larger version is so airpobatic you make it look so easy

I self taught myself to fly on a simple stick plane over 15 years ago so they will always be part of my small collection of planes 😎
If there were a brushless SUS with ailerons between the UMX and full-size plane in terms of size, it would be perfect.
I'm so disappointed the UMX version has no ailerons. They could have easily made it brushless added ailerons and kept it under 250g. 😥 Call me a Whambulam!
You are 100% right! But the whole point of the umx version is to be super light weight and fly slow. Sort of like the night vapor.
Honestly, if I were dreaming up a UMX SUS, that would have been it, too. However they went a totally different route here, which I guess was fine, also. Yes, just like UMX timber X got flaps, and everything and is the same price so I feel you on the ailerons

Sux from the price. Not worth it. Buy a vapor.
Nate, you're camera work is getting better man. But, Abby's multiroll fest with that umx slow stick was amazing!

Great job guys!
Nice! New version of the Ember. Loved that plane!!
Yeah! It’s a great little indoor flyer, or something small for a calm day of relaxing flying. 👍😎💯⚓️
Not worth it for the price. $100 plane at best
I just ordered the Rage R/C - Vintage Stick X4 Micro RTF Airplane with PASS System. Comes with everything and it's full 4 channel control.
Yes, I think it looks cool and I love the history. How is a remake from back in the day that’s pretty cool.
The choice is clear.
Great FUN flying!! Thanks Saylors!! 💟👍😎
Absolutely!! Uploading a video now that I think you will appreciate more than our usual airplane content 😉👍💯😎⚓️
Nice flights! They fly nice and slow too.
Thanks Dark!! 🙏👍💯😎⚓️
Great job! I going to get one for my birthday! 👍

$200 for a stick with wings is crazy.

Take a sports cub anyday over the ultra stix
What transmitter were you using?
Looks like an nx7e
Abby - I hope he has interest in your hobbies.

Sweet planes. Love seeing Abby and looking healthy🙂 Take care guys!
👍👍
👍😎💯⚓️
I can't believe the money they're charging for these crude stick and foam board planes.
I think it’s more about the electronics than the foam, but I could be wrong! 👍💯⚓️
Coupon code for the larger slow stick?

she's looking at this little plane like " you mean size doesn't matter? Poor thing...."
The full sized STILL isnt worth the cash however at $40 more than the umx its well worth it just for the ailerons.
Insurance is a scam
Ailerons which is why I'd never buy the umx version

only good for indoors lol...

That darn radio beep is so annoying!!!!!
