The title is technically wrong, OST is short for Official Sound Track... S.E.R.R.I.S. : Metroid Dread X Metroid Fusion Mashup, or S.E.R.R.I.S. : Metroid Boss Theme Reimagining would be more accurate. Even the trailers, teasers and the reports published till now I saw no hint to Serris, It was killed on Metroid 2, and what we beat on Fusion was just an X organism mimicking it. If and only If it's theme is to be used again, maybe it will be just a reference or maybe a Serris wannabe boss will be there to honor it.

I really dislike the kind of cheesy OST we can hear in Trailer 2. I get that it sounds straight out of Super w/ the horn sounds and everything, but synthy tunes like Fusion would've fit better.
I love this so much! It sounds accurare to the original, with just that little hint of Prime's sounds. I hope Dread's soundtrack sounds this good. Hopefully it'll have some new tracks to love, too.
Unfortunately Dread's soundtrack isn't as such. It's not bad or anything, and in fact I find it to fit the game's atmosphere rather well. It's just not what I was expecting lol. I still like it tho. In fact, Dread has become my favorite Metroid game, and I'm not joking when I say that. I've been waiting for this game for over a decade and I'm not disappointed at all.

May not be official but damn, I with it was. Much as I loved Dread, the one area it lacked was definitely the music. Aside from the E.M.M.I. zones, I didn't find any of the game's tracks particularly atmospheric, nor did I find them all-that catchy. They certainly didn't live up to the standards set by Super, Fusion, or any of the Prime games. This, however, absolutely does.
Interesting concept of having a Serris fight in ZDR. It'd certainly be less challenging than that damn yellow E.M.M.I. that you get the Speed Booster from.

I respect what dread went out to do with its music. Similar to BOTW, its music is primarily there to set a tone, and let the rest of the game take the forefront. Which works well! But I'd have to agree, I was hoping for another game with very heavy musical focus.

The sound design outside of music in this game is still honestly fantastic so I don't mind those taking center stage in terms of audio

These are the boss themes that personally stick out to me the most. There are also other good ones like Amorbis, Aurora Unit 313 and Omega Pirate but those might not exactly be ideal to listen outside of the game.

Imagine a final boss fight where Samus is chasing down Serris X before it can escape to the surface. But this Serris is faster than anything Samus has ever encountered before. Therefore she has to use both the speedbooster and time slowing phase shift in order to run it down. But not only is she just barely making progress towards it, it's just that fast, it's also over taxing her suit using both of these abilities at once which causes her health to drain. Thus she needs to keep defeating and grabbing onto enemies with her metroid hand on the fly to regain energy in an intense and insane on rails action-platforming-shooter segment.
