Love how the floor joist is cut in half with no mention. Heaviest thing in the house when it’s full of water & a fat guy. Don’t be shocked when you hear cracking
This little th-cam.com/users/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.
Hi, is it possible to bend the flange of the tub in order to make it fit? I have a porcelain coated tub and the space is about 1/8-1/4 inch narrower than what I need it to be. I know that the flange of the tub might make a difference Thanks
As a young apprentice my farther showed me a trick to protect the side of a tiled fire surround that needed a nailed fixing on each side nailed into a wooden plug, 1969 he used the back of his Bricklaying trowel both to protect the tile face and to guide his hammer strikes sliding on the back of his trowel.
Thanks for sharing. I have a Duravit tub and from the floor it measures 45 centimeters at the drain end and 41 centimeters at the head end. Do you know how to frame this uneven tub?
The only other comment I will make is there should be a waterproof lining that comes down over the raised lip of the bath to prevent water splashing and running down between the bath and wall.
I am replacing an old cast iron tub from the 60’s with a new steel enamel tub. That joust was already cut. I did attach another length to it to hopefully strengthen it. Actually the foam sits at a cross piece installed between the joists, so maybe I will get a few years out of it.
Probably not the greenboard that was the problem. The reason you had mold was that water came in from somewhere and could not drain out. Need to use a system including a water proofing membrane.

Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.
Thanks for watching...
Would I still need to add a mortar mix underneath or does the Styrofoam pad take care of it
Needing to know this too.
Instructions say nothing about leveling compound.
When nailing fixing the bath edge to wall put some cardboard maybe folded to protect tub in case hammer slips off nail strikes.
That part of the video made me want to scream. Swinging a hammer an inch away from the finished surface of the tub, big brain move, not.
Use screws! I cringed when I saw that hammer.

How do you install the drain on a concrete floor
when connecting the pipes after placing the tub in are you doing that through an access wall ?

Well done!
Step 1 buy a quality drain not a crap under sink style drain.
So cut a floor joists install ??
"Your video's are all so simple & helpful thank you so much! You truly all are so awesome 100%! Oh yeah P.S. Please keep up the good work!" (:
Karyz'ma Jenkins thers not much help here. They just say follow instructions. See tilemasterga channel
Thanks!
Nice

Well done, thanks!
Some good tips, thanks for sharing.
I'm not even a professional and I know never to use those flexible pipe drains.
The tub surrounding is drywall?
I've seen it done but it tends not to last. It's just far too vulnerable to water.
Why are you using that accordion drain extension? Those are crap and not code in many areas? NO NEED FOR THEM.
thanks
Why not pre drill some holes on the side and drill stainless steel screws?
The only other comment I will make is there should be a waterproof lining that comes down over the raised lip of the bath to prevent water splashing and running down between the bath and wall.
Flexy pipe crap.
The Styrofoam that covers the underside of the tub creaks like crazy.
Mortar bed without much water works well and is inexpensive.
New install and you use crappy corrugated PVC. Guess that's one way to secure business when that's clogged and needs snaked out.
No Tile?
Have a partnership with Home Depot? This is the exact same video they publish.
3:44 lol hacked the fuck out of that joist

Should not call this Install because it is a replace, and what if the tub i acrylic.
Green board is a bad choice, I had wet moldy greenboard from the 70s behind my tub wall while taking it down this week.
Probably not the greenboard that was the problem. The reason you had mold was that water came in from somewhere and could not drain out. Need to use a system including a water proofing membrane.
Instead of green board maybe you can use Hardie backer.
It’s illegal in the US that an accordion style drain cannot be used EVER. The stores shouldn’t be able to sell them
bzdura
Ok
don't cut floor joist move tub to fit between
Emily Mese ck
All good but I would hard pipe it instead of using tubular.
Just wrong on so many levels. The only good piece of advice was to be careful of the pipework when you refit the bath in place.
Bad diy video. Where is the mortar to support the tub? Acrylic tubs need a mortar base.
Pretty sure that it's a metal tub
