I had the same issue and stumbled on a fix which includes the solution put forward in the video. The problem with this device is that if it is not used for a period of time the battery controller essentially gets confused and the device ceases to recognise that it has a battery. The solution is to employ the elastic band to turn the device on and then leave it on and make sure it isn't set to sleep. When the battery drains the device will switch off. Then, plug it into a charger and use the elastic band trick again. As soon as the device is fully switched on, take the charging cable out and again wait until it powers down. After doing this once or twice the battery will be fully drained and this resets the controller and the device will once again recognise the battery! Then, simply put it on charge and leave it for 3/4 hours and it should charge up again as normal and work as it always did. Problem solved!!

I googled the part number, it seems like they only replaced your LCD screen, and the LCD cover ADHE is just the adhesive they used to seal it. Don't see how that's related to any burnt chip

Hi, can I ask how you find the Wi-Fi strength on the Mini T102HA? I'm returning mine because it barely picks up any wi-fi networks, and the wi-fi speed is only good when close to the router. With a couple of walls between the T102 and the router, the T102's speed is terrible compared to every other device I have. I'd be interested in your experience. Thanks.

In the bottom toolbar on the right near the clock you should have a wifi signal strength bars. Click that and open the list of available wifis and you can view the signals of all that's listed. The highest signal will have 5 bars lit up.

Sorry, I should have worded that differently... I shouldn't have used the phrase 'how do you find' :-) I was just wondering if your T102 has poor Wi-Fi like mine, which I returned today. My Wi-Fi speed was great if I was next to the router, but as soon as I moved out of the room the speed dropped. All of my other devices get good Wi-Fi speeds around the house, but the Asus T102 needed to be near the Wi-Fi router to get good speedtest results. Was that your experience too?

At home it's usually within 20ft from wifi router, works no problem. I did use it once at a McDonalds on their public wifi and even tried it in their parking lot with no problem when I first got it.
Hope they get it fixed for you.

Ummm..so how long did the take them to repair it?...mine will be at the service center this Friday 31st (it's taken a whole week to travel from CT to Newark, California/ Asus Service Center). I'm wondering if they would repair mine quickly, for sure they know what is the problem with this device, they should do a recall on this computer, until they fix it from factory before selling more units. Thank You for posting the part 3 of this headache Mini Asus Transformer.

I agree the travel time takes a while. They had mine around 3 or 4 days I believe before they sent it back. Be sure to do the survey they email you if there is any issue with the repair. Inspect it for damage also.
They didnt have to factory reset or wipe drive clean to repair this problem.

I'm having a problem with mine right now about a week in to ownership. Do you notice that when you let it sit for an hour or so and let it sleep, does it wake up when press the power button? When mine sleeps for a while and you press the power button, a battery indicator pops up for a second then disappears. Will not start back up. If I hold the power button plus volume rocker it'll start back up as if it was shut down.

If you hold the power button pressed will it stay on as long as the button is pressed? And is the battery icon in the bottom tool bar? If it's not showing then you have a issue and will n Ed to send it in for repair.

Hi I've got exactly the same problem. Thanks for your original video I managed to turn mine on using a piece of sticky tape to hold the button down. I've done a bit of research and apparently resetting the battery will fix the problem. Its not hard you just have to unplug the battery and then replug it in. The hard part is getting the screen off, I've got the tools for the job so once I've attempted a fix I will let you know how I got on. Obviouly this is not recommended as it will void the warranty but I'm not really interested in sending it in to get fixed.

On the repair sheet is says the problem is- Damaged Burned-Out Verision Error/Chip Defect
      Hope this helps.

How did your adventure go? I just bought a refurb, and it's charging as it's flashing orange when I plugged in to charge. From what I read, it seems pretty common that the issue will happen again so I'm prepping myself.
