Marauders are worth it, but there is no need to buy an expensive fit. A T2 fit will give you everything you need, the bling just makes you a more attractive target. It's worthwhile to know the area you fly in so you know who the bad guys are, and it's best to have an alt who can scout ahead.. if the gankers show up in your mission hub abandon the mission, dock up where you are and go do something else for a while. The ship will pay for itself in due time if you're diligent about your surroundings.
If you don't bling like a mad man that is not too relevant. Most groups just gank what they get. Way more important is ur EHP cause that defines how many ppl or ships are needed to bring you down 😇

I don't bling and I do tank even though it's not needed for the missions when done in a marauder. Of course, having your own spotter and recognizing when it's time to dock up makes it mostly irrelevant!

@@hellfuckinyeah I see your point, but to me it's pretty big. From an ISK standpoint I'm pretty comfortable, bordering on rich for someone who primarily lives in HS. Marauders and missions are farming implements to me for the most part, and like any "business" the need to replace an expensive piece of equipment cuts into profit. Of course, my profit typically gets dumped into another alt who regularly loses Lokis for fun, so that extra billion equates to about 2.5 Lokis. 😁 I've actually lost 2 Marauders, both my own fault. I lost my first Vargur because I was flying it to my home system after shall we say "more than one" adult beverage and failed to notice I was flying through low sec. Until I hit the gate camp. The second was during the recent Winter event to Concord when I did several stupid things in a row. First I ignored the fact that gankers showed up in local, ignored them again when they showed up on dscan, and decided I had time to scoop the loot before docking up. Then I forgot my safety was set to "Red" and started shooting at everyone in sight trying to get on the killmails. Turns out they left one ship in the group as bait and I didn't distinguish my targets properly. I shot the bait ship like an idiot and got myself Concorded!
A few other traits of the bastion module: Prevents you from getting remote reps and remote cap but makes you almost immune to electronic warfare except neuts and scramblers/disruptors. So tracking disruption, ecm etc. have almost zero impact while the module is active. Also something very important especially for low/null: once you turn off bastion, you get a 60 second timer during which you can't dock or jump gates.
Marauders are definitely worth it if you keep them alive, particularly in null sec. Ive had the same vargur for 8 months and it has made me double digit billions in ISK from loot and combat sites. I haven't used them in high-sec though, gonna grab a Paladin for L4's to try it out soon
I personally can't fathom the thought of putting so much isk onto the field without proper assurances. I do very well with 1 ishtar 4 gilas full skills needed no implants. I recently saw someone use 5 sotmbringers and finish havens in 4 minutes. I can use the group and finish a haven in 5 to 8. Been training into the stormbringers, will be done couple week. Each fit is 800m, even if I F around and catch a dread, most ill lose is 1 and if anyone tries to drop me thinking it's only 1 per site, that's free KM I guess. But to throw a marauder down just seems idk. ONLY because bastion anchors. If it anchored for less time then maybe. Also if you can't own multiple accounts or run multiple clients safely then yes, a great choice. Personally, not sure the point playing even with a solo account. Not if you wanna spend real money longer term. Simple, a marauder will PLEX you. Downfall, lmao, you don't get it today.

I find the idea of comparing 5 accounts worth of ships to a single ship with a single account a bit odd, but even so at 800mil fits you're putting more investment in space than the marauder costs. you can get a perfectly acceptable ratting marauder fit for ~1.6bil, which is double a single of your fits but not as much as your full 5. And a marauder can defeat drone hordes in ~10 minutes, not much slower than you're getting with 5 accounts. Honestly with 5 accounts i would set 4 to afk drone spinning while I spend my attention on one in a marauder, and that will make much more isk than ratting with 5 on the same grid.
@@anthonyzullo not everyone is lifeless to play on 5 accounts like you do, some of us wana log in kill stuff get isk and log off. ive had the same paladin for 9 months doing rogue drone sites and they clear the site in less than half the time your ishtar or gila takes to clear one. i get 40m a tick, thats 3 of your gilas and ishtars in one account. you must either have a weak alliance that cant warp to you when you need or you just dont have confidence flying anything above cruiser size lmao
The thing with marauders, and the t3c's is that excel with pimp mods more than most other hulls so it makes sense in that regard to throw as much isk as you can afford to really get the most out of them. Nice overview there ace cheers.
I still love the Kronos, its pretty strong for Events, Farming in 0.0 and for PvP Situations. You can use a Polarized Kronos and get around 5000 DPS with a blank 20 Minute Tick of ~45-55m depends on Waves, + ESS and Loot after, yes Super would get a bit higher ticks but not so "cheap". Also for PvP its a Beast, 8000-10000 EHP Tank with around 2500-3000 DPS is still awesome. So all in all, yes you need alot of Skilltime for it but its worth it in my option, for PvP maybe more for ESS defense, in PvE its pretty awesome and "cheap" for this absolute insane damage and tank you can easy get.
I've skilled into a Golem since I'm very heavy missile trained but haven't bought one yet. I'm kinda waiting on some new PVE content before I buy one, maybe the mission revamp patch when it happens or something. Thinking of taking one into my Alliance's WH but I do so much content in HS it's hard to devote all the time to getting my mains in and out of the WH when needed. Make enough isk either in WH or HS(I chuckled) to buy one so you have one for each. If it isn't making you it's weight in isk a month, use something else. All about "can it make me it's cost regularly?". Imo, it's to high a cost in HS, NS, LS. WHs you can make great money and a lot safer.

Me and my corpmates used to use marauders for wh pve in the past when we had more active players around. Golem and paladin and vargur was meta for c5 sites when not activating the boss wave.
I returned after years and found out my Rattlesnake had doubled in price. That made it very easy to fly a normal T2 fitted Golem for the same price and have all its benefits.
nice video. just a litte comment on your fitting, and particulary your c-type multispectrum. theres a module in the game called reactive armor hardener that cost 1.2 mill and are stupidly OP, and in my opinion the best module in the game when it comes to cost vs performance, and it dosent really show on the fitting window. so what that module do are reacting to the type of incomming damage, and gives you 60% resist in total, so if they shoot you with a single type of missiles, you get 60% extra towards that damage type, and rougy 30% on each dmg type on the weapons that split it. so this would easily cover the massive explosive hole you have on your resist with this fitting
I don't think there is any dispute that they are powerful, behemoths, both offensively and defensively. But are the worth it? Admittedly, I've blinged out my Golem, but in Hi-sec, PvE, it's a tremendous amount of expensive overkill. Seriously, there is very little that it can do, that my well equipped Cruise Missle Rattlesnake or HAM Tengu can't do. In fact, for most Hi-sec DED and L4's, the Tengu does them in about half the time. I don't ever plan on selling my Golem. I absolutely love the sheer brute force, but the level of overkill, it's slow movement, and the inherent risk of flying it, all combine to make me reluctant to use it for most things. Not that a Rattlesnake or Tengu aren't tempting gank targets, but I've rarely been concerned for them.
Yes they are very much worth it. I love my Vargur and so what if its an expensive ship to put on grid.... what is the point of having a nice ship and just let it gather dust in a hanger.
i dunno how the game is now, but when i used to play the game 5 years ago, i guess they would be worth it if you have a solid group to run incursions with. Although there are cheaper fits you can also use.. this marauder probably would be like the top tier ship to run them. Incursions is a really good way to make isk, so you would recoup your investment really fast.
for new players who don't know, you can get scan and enemy can jump and locked down on you anywhere to 5-15 seconds, depending the experience of the enemy player(null sec). personally i ran into high experienced enemy and i was not even in bastion mode when i got jumped. (also be aware your own corp members can be spy)
I'm a newbie on Eve. I have played several evenings. I'm stuck on one mission where I have to warp to a location, and destroy about a dozen bad guys, then warp again to a stargate, activate the gate and engage in the mission goal of destroying a Pirate Outpost station. The station has protection from about 8 ships that I also have to destroy. I keep going back but can't destroy the outpost and can only destroy a few of the guard ships, then I keep getting destroyed. I have the most basic ship. I am trying to only fire on 1 ship at at time. I lock onto 3 but only fire at 1 until it is dead. I have also tried ignoring the guard ships and just firing on the Pirate Station itself, but the guard ships soon get me. It seems like I am no match for this mission. Any suggestions?
What ship and what fit, that matters. Don;t just grab some random cookie cutter fit. Read the missions guides, very helpful. Feel frre to message me in game and I can help with fit or even the mission if you need.
Problem with marauders is when you DC or the game fails. Siege module keeps you in grid and if you have active tank you’ll probably die before your ship warps out. The time the game takes to recognize you’ve dc. Then 1 min siege, then it shuts off modules and tries to warp out. Lost two golems this way. Had to refit to cap stable and max tank and turned off the emergency warp out. To where ship will not warp out just sit there and tank in a dc
I love it to make a mission with the golem, the problem is. a Marauder is instant targets for gangers :( I miss the old time that was not a problem to flight a marauder. I have try it now with the navy scorpion with full puffer Tank. gangers was on my but was not success. one of the reason why i ended after 13 years playing eve online :(
Lol ran paladins for incs trained marauders 5 just for that....between battleships warping slower and Bastion mode I eventually stopped running incs and sold the pally and never really used it again, especially given the price tag. Then cursed myself for wasting time in marauders 5
Marauders are, imo, the most fun you can have for pvp. But I'd suggest using a few clients pve in null/WH to pay for the costs of them, if you're not proficient in indy/PI. In PVE null/WH, if you're dropped, a simple ship can end your billions career, where with multiple clients running sites you'll lose a simple fraction before getting everything off grid, saving you billions and heartache. I use 1 ishtar and 4 gilas and make over a bil a day. Including loot no salvage, also including maybe officer spawns, not including dreads. I prefer that than the anxiety of MAYBE looking away for 60 seconds and being tackled losing the only way to make isk. If you've got the spare isk, and it isn't your main income, marauder is worth it. Would I put it ahead of other things, smaller ones, no. By tome you skill into a marauder from newbro, you could skill into 2 3 different multiple t2s that are cheaper and more viable if you wanna play more casually.

You can easily solo kite in a Battleship for Trigs and L4, but it is boring. Doing the same in a blaster Kronos is fun and engaging; however, with Triglavians you will lose one once in a while as CCP will fuck you over with weird unexpected escalations. Losing the ship isn't so bad, as you can salvage half of it in most cases, but getting podded happens as often as not too. That stings if you are using implants.
Interesting but very expensive and notging for Alphas. Only good BS for Alphas price skills and performance wise is a Praxis. sure a raven or similar would work also fine but the best for alphas is the praxis but that is only my opinion.
DO USE THEM. Any ship can be caught and killed. Marauders are more or less built for HS. You dont need to bling them, ive got a cheapo T2 fit golem, been using it for at least a year, made me way more than the 1.8(ish) billion it cost me. But i suppose if you live anywhere near Safety space then thats your issue.

Kronos and Golem where game changers back when I played. I would say hell yeah they are worth it.

Torp golem is wayyy better for events. Cruise for missions can't be beat, and it doesn't even have to be super blingy.

I'm limited by my targeting range, not the range of the weapons. My Rattlesnake can target out to almost 140k, but my targeting range is around 120k
The Rokh with rails can hit to 250K. missiles are bad at range do to the flight time. Turrets hit instantly.

Love the kronos. Insta gun DPS plus kin/therm seems to work well on almost all targets.

You can easily solo kite in a Battleship for Trigs and L4, but it is boring. Doing the same in a blaster Kronos is fun and engaging; however, with Triglavians you will lose one once in a while as CCP will fuck you over with weird unexpected escalations. Losing the ship isn't so bad, as you can salvage half of it in most cases, but getting podded happens as often as not too. That stings if you are using implants.

If you're planning on being alpha for a while (there's plenty to do as you skill up), consider aiming for a Gila.

Interesting but very expensive and notging for Alphas. Only good BS for Alphas price skills and performance wise is a Praxis. sure a raven or similar would work also fine but the best for alphas is the praxis but that is only my opinion.

DONT USE MARAUDERS on High sec… they are ganking that marauder like all day long
DO USE THEM. Any ship can be caught and killed. Marauders are more or less built for HS. You dont need to bling them, ive got a cheapo T2 fit golem, been using it for at least a year, made me way more than the 1.8(ish) billion it cost me. But i suppose if you live anywhere near Safety space then thats your issue.
