This was released the promote the release of the first Blu-ray release of a Peter Davison season. On pretty much all of the blu-ray releases so far, the title text is recreated digitally (as the old film/video prints are often blurry, jittery, very occasionally have typos or errors, etc). So they have to dig up and rescan the original film prints of the intro/outro base that that text was laid over. Makes sense then to upload the whole thing blank :)
When you relies that the guitar effect is someone's mouth making that sound effect using a vocoder.

These were the opening titles I first ever saw. Thus began a thirty plus year relationship with the best television show ever. Thank you for always being there for me, Doctor Who.

@@mrbandit5755 she was the fifth doctor's actual daughter. In the episode, The Doctor's daughter, she played the daughter/clone of tenth doctor (David Tennant) eventually, in real life, they dated and got married. Therefore...the doctor's daughter, married the doctor.
@@SharpDesign , you left out more Who trivia. Gerogia Moffet (the Doctor's daughter who married The Doctor) also went to school with one of Colin Baker's daughters, (Lucy, I believe), and also she and David have two little girls, Olive and Doris.
So the Doctor's daughter went to school with the Doctor's daughter before going on to play the Doctor's daughter and marrying the Doctor, and eventually gave birth to the Doctor's daughters... in all the wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimeyness that carries.
I grew up in the early 2000s and I've looked through every title sequence and this is by far my favourite one

It's my favorite too the 9th and 10th are great too they brought back the faster theme.
it's the exact same opening and closing as Tom Baker's 2nd theme, not sure how that makes it your favourite one. The only difference is Peter Davidson's face instead of Tom Bakers. At least Colin Baker got a different theme song. Sid Sutton, who designed both Doctor's title sequences, said he enjoyed working on Tom Baker's version more because of Tom's hair.
@@acurisur Fairly reasonable to prefer this version. The photo they chose for Tom's one was bizarre and Colin's has that strange version of the logo that looks like they filmed it on a CRT TV. This one is perfect.
This is the best Dr. Who opening sequence ever!
This is such an excellent version of the theme, so unique and interesting, really gets stuck in your head. I would still say the original 1963-66 Hartnell era rendition is the best, but this version is definitely up there too.
Nah, tennants version is best.
I'm looking forward to Christmas Day and to finding the Season 19 boxset under my tree...I hope. ;)

For it to be Silver, it would have to be the Seventh Doctor, as Season 25 and the 25th anniversary story happened during his tenure.

The Fifth Doctor only had the 20th anniversary special between Seasons 20 and 21, and didn't get a 21st anniversary special.

This is my all time favorite Theme, followed by the 10th Doctor's 2008...I never get tired hearing the 80-85 theme music, it's the greatest...🙂
Hearing this theme again brings me right back to being a kid in the 1980s, sitting in front of the TV being terrified and excited at the same time. Baker/Davidson were my Doctors....love it!
I am watching this boxset right now, and really, I love the updated special effects, the restored high quality episodes, the special features, etc. Best thing that happened so far.
Lovely! You have no idea how many times I've listened to these versions of the title theme... can't wait 'till Davidson's other two seasons are released on BlueRay (and until all of his stories are properly released here in Germany)

Love these titles! So iconic and personally I'd say you hear these the most like on the DVDs. Truly iconic these titles! Really great. I take it they'll be doing the same titles and end credits for all the other season blu rays they'll do?
I remember this being on TV as a child and the effect it had on me.....loved it.

Early 80s in particular. This type of sound was already out of date by about 1985 but it's my favourite style.

My first classic Doctor
I got the Season 19 bluray recently and I'm currently isolating the Howell theme tune after seeing a video made by TRoDW showing one of his Howell theme remixes using some isolations from a 5.1 he got. It's amazing what you can isolate from this theme!

My first Doctor. Many years ago, my brother saw it on PBS and decided to tease me about how I "would like this because it looks weird", later being surprised that I did indeed love it and watched in regularly from then on.

I'm only 19 and this is my favourite of all the Doctor Who themes.
I'm also 19 but my favourite themes are the 2006-07 theme for series 2 and 3, the 2008 theme for series 4+specials and the 2013 theme for series 7B.
