Not having Jack Harkness latched onto the outside of the TARDIS during the title sequence in 'Utopia' was one of the biggest missed opportunities in the show.
Women who were famous in the 80s look better now than they did in the 80s, haha. I've been waiting since the late 90s for that not to be true and it's almost time but not quite!
I have to say though, the Twin Dilemma one is one of my favourites. The way they did the main melody on a super reverbed guitar is so 80s cheese but in the best way
The 80's really was the start of what we have today except it was an 80's version of what we have now. Everything we can do now but much slower and complicated 😁
the fact that even today the effects used for the first intro are still otherworldly and mysterious is really a testament to the skill of the effects team back then

Arguably, Delia Derbyshire's original arrangement is a synthesiser arrangement - made for a show about time travel before the invention of the electronic synthesiser!
The person who performed the original Dr who theme was a female member of the BBC radiophonic workshop, Delia Derbyshire. She had quite a job creating this sound as there were no synthesisers back in the 60s. It was all done by recording sound and cutting tape. Derbyshire never got the recognition she deserved for her hand in creating the Dr who theme tune. The composer was Ron Grainer but she deserves credit for her hard work in realising it.
I know about Delia but I was under the impression she used tape loops AND synthesisers... wasn't there rudimentary synthesis back then? Didn't Perrey and Kingsley use synths at the time? I'm pretty sure there were experiments done since the early or mid '50s.
@@hexyko4850 I always thought sythisisers didn't come until slightly later. I saw an interview with another member of the radiophonic workshop, Mark Ayers (I hope I have his name right) I could have sworn they made music by cutting tape.

What I (still) find amazing is how futuristic the original 1963 version sounds. You can hear electric guitar in the early 80s version, and Casio-keyboard-on-harpsichord in the late 80s, but the original just sounds hauntingly unearthly.
Hopefully they stay within the same key... Didn’t like the key changes in the 1980’s.... Good thing Nuwho reverted back to the original key of the tune :D
More like 1 show that lasted 26 years, and another similar but different show that lasted about 10 years until it became a zombified mess of its former self, like the Simpsons.
@@UnchainedEruption Unlike the Simpsons, Doctor Who has generally stayed very true to its roots. Aside from Hartnell and Pertwee, the overall format and feel of the show has remained pretty much the same. Bad writing does not change the show's identity, because the show was still very much 'Doctor Who' despite how terrible Series 6,7, 8, and 9 were. The Simpsons turned from a show about a lovable family show that was not afraid to make commentary of social and political events, into pretty much another shitty adult satire show.
@Adriano I personally don't really like Matt Smith as an actor, but his performance was really good in Doctor Who. I mean that the overall writing for the last 2/3 of his run was not very good.
Nothing will hit harder than the first theme you heard. For me it's the 2005 reboot, literally gives me goosebumps, the memories of Christopher Eccleston. Amazing
Mine's Matt Smith's 1st theme, I was like 4 when Series 5 came out but I still watched it anyway, and now I've been obsessed with this show for 11 years
My first was John pertwees theme. My dad had an old video casset he got it out and told me “it was a good show when I was young but it’s not on TV anymore”me and him watched it and I loved it. One year later to both our surprise Doctor who was coming back on TV. I still have that video casset today - Death to the Dalek’s
the 2005 theme is the theme of my childhood and I remember how intense it was. I’ve never seen graphics move so fast because my whole childhood was slow moving soviet graphics
It's quite amazing seeing the old intros and thinking about how they created them in a time where things still weren't digital. Same with the theme song and how they made it, it was pioneering work back then.
The original effect is very cool considering how simplistic it was to achieve. It's literally just visual feedback, point an analog TV camera at its own monitor, you'll get those trippy visuals.
The one thing i love the most is that its always the same melody, but a different aspect of it is targeted each time. Like there is always a focal point in the tune but its different every time. It is the doctor who theme, but its not THAT doctor anymore, THIS one
The Doctor Who theme was ultra-modern from the start. The original Derbyshire mix is a piece of electronic synthesizer music sequenced for a show about time travel ... before the invention of the electronic synthesizer. Genius.
It's funny how even the doctor who account themselves forgot Matt Smiths secret outro on his last season, showing it getting greyer as his time gets nearer to losing Rory and Amy.
I note that they forgot that the S5-6 titles actually had sound effects for the stormlike vortex, lightning strikes, whoosh into the orange bit and TARDIS noises at one point.

The TARDIS as the logo and the return of the Doctor's face in the intro were two of my absolute favorite things about the New Who intros. They need to bring them back.
I do miss the Matt Smith/David Tennant era may rewatch them some day but do love how Matt Smith was introduced in his first episode as the 11th Doctor he was just epic lol

Capaldi's intro fits his character so damn well!! There's something about the mechanical ticking of the gears just syncing with him, an old, troubled time lord

My favorite will always be Eccleston. He's one of the most important Doctor's despite being around for only one season. If he hadn't nailed his performance we might have never seen Doctor Who again.
i remember as a child in the 80's ....being scared by 'crimewatch' (tv program).....and also finding 'casualty' (tv program) shocking and scary at times. And don't mention late night channel 4's 'Chinese Ghost stories'. I guess we were more sensitive back then. Or maybe its general kids reactions.

9:31 I'll never forget the 23rd of August. I was 13 at the time. My dad asked me if I wanted to watch this show called "Doctor Who", said he had the first episode of the new season recorded. I'd heard of the show, but never watched it, so I decided to give it a go. If seeing Capaldi for the first time didn't excite me, this intro did. Hearing the sounds of the clocks backing the bassline, seeing the gears disappear when the time vortex twists into existence, it was magical for 13-year-old me. My dad didn't like the show, but I did. So much so that he had our DVR keep recording new episodes. He's gone now. I wish I could go back and thank him for introducing me to Doctor Who.
For me it was 23 November 2013, I didn’t hear the intro as the episode had started but I watched it and LOVED IT anyway, it became and still is my obsession. Over the least 7 years not many things have been constant, I was diagnosed with autism in 2016, my dad almost died in 2017 and everything about this year has been a mess, the one constant has always been my love for this show, even these last 2 seasons I love at in pains me when I see people shitting on it because of their political agenda.
I had watched a few episodes out of context before, but after watching The Fall of Doctor Who by Jay Exci I went on HBO Max, and watched the first episode of the ninth Doctor's run and was hooked.
doctor who theme always gives me goosebumps. aside from memories i have with this show, i love this mysterious feel that these themes portray. it always hypnotized me when i was a child, it’s really like you’re going through time and space when another episode starts. also i think it was cool when they showed the face of the current doctor in intro. like it’s not just the current main character, it’s the current face of the show

Every theme summed up: 1st Doctor: The original creepy tune that lures you back. 2nd Doctor: Same tune, now with added celestas! 3rd Doctor #1: Same tune, new intro! 3rd Doctor #2: Same tune, bass and effects are a little louder. New visuals too! 4th Doctor #1: New doctor! 4th Doctor #2: HELL YEAH 80s CS-80 SYNTH! 5th Doctor: Same tune, bass is a little different. New doctor! 6th Doctor #1: New bass, along with more sound effects. New doctor too! 6th Doctor #2: Okay, completely new tune. This one's weird. 7th Doctor: Pretty good, especially since this track is starting the 90s even in '87. 8th Doctor/Movie: It's the movie. You can't _not_ have a dramatic intro. And it nails! 9th Doctor: It's the creepy original, now remastered for 2005! This one's probably the scariest (childhood). 10th Doctor #1: Same tune, but now more up in your face. I retract last statement to put it here. 10th Doctor #2: Orchestral! Nice twist, the strings helped out a lot! 11th Doctor #1: I like this one, probably my favorite. It pops, for some reason! 11th Doctor #2: Returning to the 80s with the whole face-in-space thing, but we've still got the 70s intro music. 12th Doctor: I love these visuals! Also, this was a nice fresh twist to the original theme. 13th Doctor: BASS! And it seems we've returned to the 60s style visuals and similar style theme.
Eccleston was perfect. In a way I wish he stayed longer as he was a brilliant doctor but it was also perfect for his storyline. He nailed the performance and without him we wouldn't have doctor who today
Too bad studio politics got in the way...Chris later said that he felt somewhat miscast...Chris does not feel that the type humor that Dr Who uses is not one of Chris' strengths...

You can get water that you can add to fruit juices and alcohol that is rich in iron. Its a much more efficient way to get your iron levels up without gorging yourself on spinach! The only problem is, if you don't put enough juice in your glass, then it tastes like rust. Its like holding a key in your mouth for too long!
It was an amazing experience listening to all of these, but I got instant chills all over my body, when the 9th Doctor's theme started playing. I'll never forget first falling in love with Doctor Who 10 years ago.
Season 7 had like 50 different openings. Well the same but just retextured and made a bit better, they did it quite a lot until they got up to the episode ‘the snowmen’ then it was a whole different opening screen

The Doctor really checks off on all the boxes of superhero...from another land, has gadgets and powers, protects the Earth, a good guy that can't be swayed, has a mysterious backstory, very few people know his real identity...hell, he even knows how to talk Baby and Horse. He even had a Marvel comic for a while.
Delia Derbyshire and Ron Grainer both lived to see the show shown all over the world, so they definitely would have known the reach the music had. Unfortunately, neither of them was still around to see the second reboot in 2005.

@@flowrianeast42 in my opinion the 80s theme is still very haunting, and to me hits harder and works better as a cliffhanger theme than the other ones. As for whether it’s rock like, it’s really not compared to the 2008 theme, it’s just that the bassline is more filled out
@@wishbones170 Yes, it was a film, but it wasn't in theaters. Usually, made for TV fare has a much smaller budget and isn't as impressive (hence made for TV). That's why the score is impressive here, because it feels like it was made for theaters.
@@Bagster321The key change was because of PAL speedup. The film was mostly made in North America, where their TV runs at 24 frames per second. Here in the UK, our TV runs at 25fps, which makes the pitch slightly higher.
This is my thoughts on all themes. Eccleston - great visually, the colours were right and having the tardis in the into is always the safe option. Tenant - even better, the way they made the tardis freeze for an instant so the camera angle can change as it enters another direction in the time vertex. I always thought having the pause and the camera turn and the tardis accelerate speed a little as it changes direction was so sick every time I watched that part of the intro I thought it was epic. The reason Eccleston weren’t as good was because they didn’t have it exactly like it and the music didn’t fit in time as well as tennants. Planet of the dead (Tennant) - the music is just pure genius. A much more active theme. One of the best things about this particular intro was how they pushed the music even more. Brilliant piece. Matt smith cloud style intro- even better music. The music sounded god like. Literally. It made the doctor feel and sound like a god. Another thing I loved so much was how they transport into the fiery looking vortex half way through. The way they sped it up slightly and the godly music increased. What a chilling experience every time. Matt smith second intro - I love the music and the colours and how they brought back the face in the intro. Sadly not much of a tardis was shown but it was different which I loved. Peter Capaldi’s - the fan that created this should be proud. The music was completely different yet the same all a the same time. You can still hear the classic tune but has a clock sound to it. This music really felt like what the doctor who music should’ve always been. As for the visuality of it, what a brilliant design, again bringing back the face in the intro. Perfect colours. I mean it’s really hard to say anything bad about this intro. Whittaker’s first intro - again no tardis, no face. The only things that felt like doctor who about it was the classic theme tune which I loved and having the title in the intro. I love that they also kept the 3D effect of the doctor who logo. Though purple is my second least favourite colour I won’t judge it on that because that’s not fair. But most of the time in the intro you couldn’t tell what’s was going on other than some purple splodges moving around. Not to be biased because chibnall wrote a bad series and a bad doctor but I can’t help but say this is my second least fav of revival who.

Watching all these back to back, it's amazing that they've kept the same general theme for fifty years and just tweak it here and there to give each era its own zing. I don't think there's a bad one in the bunch (13 ends a little abruptly for my taste), 4th, 11th, and 12th are probably my favorite.
For those complaining about Jodie’s intro, it’s meant to be a modernized homage to the original intro, which also didn’t have the Tardis or Time Vortex in it, and neither did the second or third ones

Growing up in the 70's, I don't remember the Daleks ever scaring me. And I don't remember the Cybermen ever scaring me. Honestly, I don't remember any monster ever scaring me. But every week, without fail, I would have to hide behind the living room cabinet, just for the opening credits. Because that one split second of Tom's face, when it goes all negative at 2:19. THAT used to absolutely terrify me.
I started watching Who as a small child in the mid 70s. This was during the infamous Phillip Hinchcliff Gothic Horror phase - I was scared s******s by the theme AND the stories. I had vivid nightmares of people being put into mulching machines (Sarah Jane Smith "Seeds of Doom") for some years. Doctor Who really was frightening back then.
As you may be aware, you can go frame by frame at that time by hitting the comma and period keys on your keyboard. It appears that frames that scare you occur late in the 2:19 time, shortly before the 2:20 mark. I'm sorry/you're welcome in advance.
It's the 60's themes that send a shiver up my spine. Daleks as an 9 year old was a thrill. Still think they are the greatest foe of all. Thanks for the memories.

JNT felt that as Producer, he would give the show a new look for the 1980's--new visuals, theme song, production crew, etc. About the only things that didn't change were the two lead actors--and they would be gone by the end of 1980...After all, their marriage plans took time...

I remember seeing some lady behind a car about to be killed by mannequins before they freezing in their path. I also remember seeing some sun thing in some underground room area. For years I wondered where I saw that from and then I decovered the show. Fun fact: it was because of the “Tick stock Don’t stop” X Doctor Who videos that I found the series again.

I know there's a lot of criticism for Chris Chibnall's tenure, but gods, I love the current Doctor Who opening theme and the opening title sequence with it. It's like a call back to the original but modern. So good.
The music just feels off tune for me and the visuals which obviously bigger budget than before just feel more generic. I think V1 of Pertwees feels the best design for me even if its not my favourite.
I love the thirteenth doctor’s design, I mean the doctor had always been sassy, now she’s a she! But I still prefer the theme of the twelfth doctor, it’s just something about the sci-fi noises as percussion that makes it so cool
oliver fitzpatrick well... yes they have no definitive gender, but as if right now the doctor is considered feminine... during the tenth doctor’s regeneration eleven did say “I’M A GIRL” so technically... yes they do have temporary genders
Oh wow I never actually noticed how good some of these intros are compared to each other, a lot of them represent their doctors so perfectly, it really is important to get the right intro for your doctor

I do not know why, but I like it so much when the Doctor's face is shown in the oppening. Especially when the Doctor smiles at the viewer in the oppening, it's so cute and cool. And so my favorite intro with the 4th doctor, because he is my favorite.
8:47 It is SUCH a shame they used this logo for so little time because this is the best one in my honest opinion. It just sums up everything doctor who in such a simple yet amazingly constructed logo. This one is just plain perfection.Also the transition of the logo into the Tardis still makes me smile. Another thing i deeply miss is this little touch of the Tardis closing in and opening it's doors to the start of the episode, it was a little touch but just so damn cool that i miss it terribly. As for my favorite intro... The 12th doctor takes the cake. It's just an amazing mixture of both old and new doctors. The fact that his face shows up in the intro like the old intros, the rhythm having nods both to the classic and new which too represents what this version of the doctor is supposed to be. But as my favorite version of the song... Call me dumb but i love the 13th doctor's theme. I dunno, i just love the composition of it for some reason, it just sounds right like, if you were to put it over all the other intros it would just... Fit. Love it to death.
I actually didn’t think that logo sums up the show that well tbh. You’re entitled to your opinion of course but that font in particular and the metal finish make the show feel too “epic” in a way. It seems too serious and I feel like it has the potential to age poorly.
Damnm really? I think it's the ugliest logo and it invokes the totally wrong feeling. The worst one of all of them, I'm very glad they got rid of it. The spinning logo into the TARDIS is cringey as fuck.

My favourites will always be those from the David Tennant and Matt Smith era, granted they are my favourite doctors too and I grew up with them, but the intros are simply spectacular and epic! Peter Capaldi's clockwork steampunk intro is badass too

There's something really cool but also kind of spooky and scary about the music combined with the images of the various doctors. It's all very creative, I love it. I prefer the earliest ones, they are magical and surreal. I also like how they're calmer than the more frantic later themes.

The first intros sound really creepy. They always give me chills every time I listen to them, much like the X-Files theme.

The person who performed the original Dr who theme was a female member of the BBC radiophonic workshop, Delia Derbyshire. She had quite a job creating this sound as there were no synthesisers back in the 60s. It was all done by recording sound and cutting tape. Derbyshire never got the recognition she deserved for her hand in creating the Dr who theme tune. The composer was Ron Grainer but she deserves credit for her hard work in realising it.

What I (still) find amazing is how futuristic the original 1963 version sounds. You can hear electric guitar in the early 80s version, and Casio-keyboard-on-harpsichord in the late 80s, but the original just sounds hauntingly unearthly.

The Simpsons turned from a show about a lovable family show that was not afraid to make commentary of social and political events, into pretty much another shitty adult satire show.

My first was John pertwees theme. My dad had an old video casset he got it out and told me “it was a good show when I was young but it’s not on TV anymore”me and him watched it and I loved it. One year later to both our surprise Doctor who was coming back on TV. I still have that video casset today - Death to the Dalek’s

The one thing i love the most is that its always the same melody, but a different aspect of it is targeted each time. Like there is always a focal point in the tune but its different every time. It is the doctor who theme, but its not THAT doctor anymore, THIS one

The Doctor Who theme was ultra-modern from the start.
The original Derbyshire mix is a piece of electronic synthesizer music sequenced for a show about time travel ... before the invention of the electronic synthesizer. Genius.
It's funny how even the doctor who account themselves forgot Matt Smiths secret outro on his last season, showing it getting greyer as his time gets nearer to losing Rory and Amy.
I note that they forgot that the S5-6 titles actually had sound effects for the stormlike vortex, lightning strikes, whoosh into the orange bit and TARDIS noises at one point.
But they remembered the three 2005-10 intros that are more or less the exact same.

9:31 I'll never forget the 23rd of August. I was 13 at the time. My dad asked me if I wanted to watch this show called "Doctor Who", said he had the first episode of the new season recorded. I'd heard of the show, but never watched it, so I decided to give it a go. If seeing Capaldi for the first time didn't excite me, this intro did. Hearing the sounds of the clocks backing the bassline, seeing the gears disappear when the time vortex twists into existence, it was magical for 13-year-old me.
My dad didn't like the show, but I did. So much so that he had our DVR keep recording new episodes. He's gone now. I wish I could go back and thank him for introducing me to Doctor Who.

For me it was 23 November 2013, I didn’t hear the intro as the episode had started but I watched it and LOVED IT anyway, it became and still is my obsession. Over the least 7 years not many things have been constant, I was diagnosed with autism in 2016, my dad almost died in 2017 and everything about this year has been a mess, the one constant has always been my love for this show, even these last 2 seasons I love at in pains me when I see people shitting on it because of their political agenda.

You can get water that you can add to fruit juices and alcohol that is rich in iron. Its a much more efficient way to get your iron levels up without gorging yourself on spinach! The only problem is, if you don't put enough juice in your glass, then it tastes like rust. Its like holding a key in your mouth for too long!

It was an amazing experience listening to all of these, but I got instant chills all over my body, when the 9th Doctor's theme started playing. I'll never forget first falling in love with Doctor Who 10 years ago.

Season 7 had like 50 different openings. Well the same but just retextured and made a bit better, they did it quite a lot until they got up to the episode ‘the snowmen’ then it was a whole different opening screen

The Snowmen theme was only used once, the episodes after had more percussion and bass.
There are so many variations of these title sequences that weren't added, such as the "Delaware" theme.

The Doctor really checks off on all the boxes of superhero...from another land, has gadgets and powers, protects the Earth, a good guy that can't be swayed, has a mysterious backstory, very few people know his real identity...hell, he even knows how to talk Baby and Horse. He even had a Marvel comic for a while.
I wonder if the pereon who originally wrote the opening theme, ever realized just how iconic it would have become?
I really hope she did. She was a pioneer of electronic music, so it's awesome to see how far her work has come.

Delia Derbyshire and Ron Grainer both lived to see the show shown all over the world, so they definitely would have known the reach the music had. Unfortunately, neither of them was still around to see the second reboot in 2005.

The intros for 1-4 had an ominous tone to it it made the doctor seem mysterious but for some reason also in over his head I loved it

@@wishbones170 Yes, it was a film, but it wasn't in theaters. Usually, made for TV fare has a much smaller budget and isn't as impressive (hence made for TV). That's why the score is impressive here, because it feels like it was made for theaters.
They changed the key slightly to be more "heroic" sounding rather than it be in the original minor key.
Shame it never became a full series.

This is my thoughts on all themes.
Eccleston - great visually, the colours were right and having the tardis in the into is always the safe option.
Tenant - even better, the way they made the tardis freeze for an instant so the camera angle can change as it enters another direction in the time vertex. I always thought having the pause and the camera turn and the tardis accelerate speed a little as it changes direction was so sick every time I watched that part of the intro I thought it was epic. The reason Eccleston weren’t as good was because they didn’t have it exactly like it and the music didn’t fit in time as well as tennants.
Planet of the dead (Tennant) - the music is just pure genius. A much more active theme. One of the best things about this particular intro was how they pushed the music even more. Brilliant piece.
Matt smith cloud style intro- even better music. The music sounded god like. Literally. It made the doctor feel and sound like a god. Another thing I loved so much was how they transport into the fiery looking vortex half way through. The way they sped it up slightly and the godly music increased. What a chilling experience every time.
Matt smith second intro - I love the music and the colours and how they brought back the face in the intro. Sadly not much of a tardis was shown but it was different which I loved.
Peter Capaldi’s - the fan that created this should be proud. The music was completely different yet the same all a the same time. You can still hear the classic tune but has a clock sound to it. This music really felt like what the doctor who music should’ve always been. As for the visuality of it, what a brilliant design, again bringing back the face in the intro. Perfect colours. I mean it’s really hard to say anything bad about this intro.
Whittaker’s first intro - again no tardis, no face. The only things that felt like doctor who about it was the classic theme tune which I loved and having the title in the intro. I love that they also kept the 3D effect of the doctor who logo. Though purple is my second least favourite colour I won’t judge it on that because that’s not fair. But most of the time in the intro you couldn’t tell what’s was going on other than some purple splodges moving around. Not to be biased because chibnall wrote a bad series and a bad doctor but I can’t help but say this is my second least fav of revival who.

Watching all these back to back, it's amazing that they've kept the same general theme for fifty years and just tweak it here and there to give each era its own zing. I don't think there's a bad one in the bunch (13 ends a little abruptly for my taste), 4th, 11th, and 12th are probably my favorite.
For those complaining about Jodie’s intro, it’s meant to be a modernized homage to the original intro, which also didn’t have the Tardis or Time Vortex in it, and neither did the second or third ones
But it dose have the time vortex in it but not the tardis.

Growing up in the 70's, I don't remember the Daleks ever scaring me. And I don't remember the Cybermen ever scaring me. Honestly, I don't remember any monster ever scaring me.
But every week, without fail, I would have to hide behind the living room cabinet, just for the opening credits. Because that one split second of Tom's face, when it goes all negative at 2:19. THAT used to absolutely terrify me.
I started watching Who as a small child in the mid 70s. This was during the infamous Phillip Hinchcliff Gothic Horror phase - I was scared s******s by the theme AND the stories. I had vivid nightmares of people being put into mulching machines (Sarah Jane Smith "Seeds of Doom") for some years. Doctor Who really was frightening back then.
That transition is SUPER clean tho

JNT felt that as Producer, he would give the show a new look for the 1980's--new visuals, theme song, production crew, etc. About the only things that didn't change were the two lead actors--and they would be gone by the end of 1980...After all, their marriage plans took time...

I know there's a lot of criticism for Chris Chibnall's tenure, but gods, I love the current Doctor Who opening theme and the opening title sequence with it. It's like a call back to the original but modern. So good.
The music just feels off tune for me and the visuals which obviously bigger budget than before just feel more generic. I think V1 of Pertwees feels the best design for me even if its not my favourite.

8:47 It is SUCH a shame they used this logo for so little time because this is the best one in my honest opinion. It just sums up everything doctor who in such a simple yet amazingly constructed logo. This one is just plain perfection.Also the transition of the logo into the Tardis still makes me smile. Another thing i deeply miss is this little touch of the Tardis closing in and opening it's doors to the start of the episode, it was a little touch but just so damn cool that i miss it terribly.
As for my favorite intro... The 12th doctor takes the cake. It's just an amazing mixture of both old and new doctors. The fact that his face shows up in the intro like the old intros, the rhythm having nods both to the classic and new which too represents what this version of the doctor is supposed to be.
But as my favorite version of the song... Call me dumb but i love the 13th doctor's theme. I dunno, i just love the composition of it for some reason, it just sounds right like, if you were to put it over all the other intros it would just... Fit. Love it to death.

My favourites will always be those from the David Tennant and Matt Smith era, granted they are my favourite doctors too and I grew up with them, but the intros are simply spectacular and epic! Peter Capaldi's clockwork steampunk intro is badass too

There's something really cool but also kind of spooky and scary about the music combined with the images of the various doctors. It's all very creative, I love it. I prefer the earliest ones, they are magical and surreal. I also like how they're calmer than the more frantic later themes.
