A useful shortcut that I don't see a lot of people use is in Music Park. At the turn right after the bouncing notes, there's a tambourine that you can bounce off to skip the whole turn and go straight for the finish line.
I was turned off by that shortcut at first because it would always send be off-road, but I've recently gotten the hang of it. I'm pretty sure it's developer intended though, but so is Tick Tock Clock so what can I say.
I always do one you didn't talk about. In "Wii U Rainbow Road" after the conveyor jump, go on the lower track and drift boost into the Gravity Pin at the end of the road to get launched into the two roads right after it.

I struggle with Tick Tock Clock a bit but that's usually because I get greedy and try to go for the wheel afterwards and end up launching myself off the map. I knew about Mute City as well and was able to do it a few times but not consistently. The other ones I didn't know about until watching and I was able to get the hang of Donut Plains, Big Blue and GBA Mario Circuit. The only one I haven't been able to do yet is Dragon Driftway, that one is WAAAY harder than it looks. But I'm sure it'll come with some practice.
They don’t describe how to do these shortcuts at all here. The ultra mini turbo is vital in the dragon driftway shortcut, then you need two realignment hops, then drift into a mini turbo and jump. It takes a lot of practice… but in this video they just say you need a mini turbo and then to jump at the right time, which won’t work.
I was going to go for the Dragon Driftway shortcut when I was playing online, but someone bumped into me right before I was about to cut the corner and killed my momentum 💀
200 cc Mute City Entire last section can be skipped by using the shortcut the right way. Can you figure out how it is done? ( hint: it uses a button many forget to use when jumping)
For any shortcut that includes a hop, do a neutral hop. Neutral hops always give you more air time/height, and are triggered by hopping with no turn input at all. Just don't touch your L stick while hopping!

In Mario Kart Wii on the other hand i can do all the shortcuts and all the hidden techniques like delayed drifting or lowtricks. By the way the Flame Runner isn't the only vehicle that is viable for online. You can also have a good chance of winning with the Mach Bike, the Bullet Bike, the Sneakster, the Dolphin Dasher, the Magikruiser and the Spear.
There is another shortcut on big blue(yes this track is full of them)It is right at the beginning of the 2nd lap.You,have to fall to the right then go to either the top or bottom path the you move to the left facing the next area.Then you have fall of while holding down on the control stick.It is similar to the mute city shortcut where you can skip the entire lap.It works on both 150cc and 200cc. Lord that's a mouthful.
These might be insane if you just know Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. But for Mario Kart Wii these are just liike the easiest and smallest shortcuts. Insane shortcuts for Mario Kart Wii would be something like the Rainbow Road Ultra Shortcut or the N64 Bowser Castle Ultra Shortcut.
Yeah that GBA Mario Circuit one isn't that hard. The thing is you don't have to take the off-road shortcut just before it as well, you can just go all the way around it and use a mushroom in between the trees if you need to practice your alignment. Then you practice the off road bit as well
