Man I added this kit to my X3 Max RRS and what a difference in the noice level❤️We can talk now easy around without shouting at each other👍
The very first modification that should be done to any x3 is an gusset kit. I told myself I didn’t need because I didn’t ride rough but now after 8000 miles. My a arm holes are egg shaped. Gusset kit would’ve prevented that. So my advice is gusset kit as the very first mod.
The decibels don’t tell it but man it made a difference on my x3.
Great video, I could tell the difference in the noise, it took that annoying high pitch sound out.
I just bought a 2021 Can-Am X3 DS model side by side, thank you for the video but as a dad where's your safety glasses when you were using the cut off wheel? I did subscribe to your Channel because you put out a great video but please use safety glasses from now on please.
I took my 2020 rr to can am about the 5k ram rattle and they are having the shop pack the driveshafts with heavy grease and put a set screw in the shadt where it meets the motor. According to can am its the drive shafts that rattle not the clutch
Hmmm now that’s one I have not yet heard.
So what I'm hearing is they just messed with everyones driveshaft?!
@@cristiansalas2458 idk, it made it more quiet but I can still hear it. So idk really. Probably a combination of things. As far as my can am goes. I have no regrets buying one,, but the noise is a downfall.

Cheaper to just stuff the hole with pipe insulation. The cover on the back is not sealed so a ton of air will find it way in !
I wonder if a trunk box would get in the way of that. Most of those things sit up high and mount somewhat flush to that.
Jesus, how hard would it be for BRP to remold that air intake? How many years have they had to correct it now? (Among other things) What is going on over there? WTF?

I feel like a lot of the noise is something to do with the exhaust. Like the springs and the heat Shields.
Ever figure out the actual rattle? Sounds like heatshield at 5200rpms
That piece of foam isn't sound proof you need real sound proof insulation like they use in music studios..... I was wondering if adding snorkels would help I was thinking about putting some on mine..... but man they ain't cheap
I guess snorkels wouldn’t hurt anything, it’d bring the air intake up around the roof line

You got like $3000 in speakers above your head in that cockpit. Turn those subs up! Drowns out any engine noise or otherwise!

Did you ever trim your windshield to fit better around your intrusion bar clamps ?
I have a 2018 I think some noise might becoming possibly from the spring loaded exhaust manifold at high acceleration

How do you like the windshield? Also with the air filter turned around do you think if you hit water or play in mud would you think it would sling mud or water in air filter? I am putting a rear window in mine. Would i still need to turn mine around. Where did you get the fender flares and your roof? Nice video and good information keep it up. Thanks
I love the windshield! Only wish they had a wiping version. Only thing to watch for on getting the rear window is not good airflow to the inter cooler. Fender flares off amazon and the roof directly from BRP
It does get loud, if you have a 4 seater you dont hear it that much.

Sounded the same but really how much do you hear with a helmet on?
It’s hard to capture sound wise on camera but honestly there is quite a difference. This one makes the most difference for the guys like me who ride with the windshield on and no helmet on the road and sand dunes.
Most of the rattle is lack of grease in the driveshaft sounds like a heat shield rattle
Put a lot of grease on drive shaft splines

It sounds like the clutch sheaves.
On my 2019 XRC we have a rattle on Deceleration that sounds like a heat shield might be vibrating or something, is this "normal" It occurs after a high rpm launch, when the motor rpm is coming back down... Not redline.. just if you hit 5k rpm or so then back off.. .. I'm assuming it does not have some sort of after market blow off valve or something.

Two years from now most of these machines will be 5- six speed gearboxesI just realized I’m gonna wait another year or just buy a used X3 or Maverick Sport now and here’s why 30 mph requires 5000 RPMs (extremely loud Eliminates being able to just cruise) the whole time my mind is screaming change gears! The Engine is wound out at 60🙄 because it has a CVT clutch the new Yamaha has a five or six speed gearbox W/paddle shifters and it’s idling at 60 miles an hour ,in top gear, noise eliminated much better fuel mileage and people that have driven it said the gearbox performance is unparalleled by a CVT in anyway. And All have said once you drive a paddle shift gearbox you don’t want to ever go back to CVT , They work great on snowmobiles which they were invented for The machines are too big and powerful now and are lacking because of it. Love your ad on videos.
I just sold my yxz an bought a x3. The yxz has its place but the type of riding I do. Cvt is the way to go. But if your at the dunes or some or able to drive in the street you cant beat it. But it's def low on power campsites to the turbo stuff
Lol, you know cvt transmission are in cars right? And you never run up the rpms in the yamaha? Seems all the ones I ride with pretty loud. I ride in Mi, lots of woods and 2 track stuff. Yamaha doesn't really come alive till 9-10k rpm. And very the rpms just as much as a cvt transmission
Hey Rustbelt I’ve been looking at SP tools compact 3/8 vs the snap on one but there’s no videos on it. Do you think you could do something in the compact 3/8 range and one for cordless ratchets because I know Milwaukee is good but their ratchets lack as oppose to the new long necks from snap on

would a rear glass help the sound damponing as well. i would say you were still hearing quite a bit of the buzz just from having no rear glass.

No it doesn't help, a helmet and/or ear plugs is the best thing. Get an intercom system to talk

I have a xrc rr also.. looks like your wheel is the left to go straight also. Its annoying me. Lol

@@RustbeltMechanic I need to look at mine again. I looked at the service manual and it appears that only the outside jam nut (spindle end) gets loosened.. which explains why I was not having any luck getting movement out of the tie rod with both ends loose. I need to make sure the rack is centered also. May just need to pull the wheel off and recenter.
Is your can am have a tough time turning in pavement ? Ours has idk if its normal 😕 and in the grass it rips it out with the rear tires when you turn
Unfortunately that’s standard. It’s a locked rear end full time, they don’t build them with an open differential.

You have to take off the intrusion bars to use that windshield I believe.

Stock front flares are useless.
That noise is horrible...I can’t even ride in a X3 without hearing protection. 👂
