If Jim reads this. I was in Basic training with you at Ft Jackson. You'd remember me. B-8-2. . I literally saved you from Charlie 21 (Darryl). I still have my graduation book. We were in basic from Oct 85-Dec 85. James was the most all American soldier type I have ever seen. I knew he was destined for greatness. He taught a bunch of goofballs how to march as soon as we got to the reception center. Not sure why he did not mention this.
Another Badass story!!! Appreciate you guys and hearing the stories!!! That Gen. Paul LaCamera guy was my BC at 1/87 INF at 10th Mountain. Served with him in Afghanistan 2001-2002. We were together on OP Anaconda when we got pinned down and ambushed for 18+ hours. Great Leader Great Warrior!!! Appreciate hearing new stories and old!!! Thank you @Mentors4mil!!!
I’m pretty sure this is dude that rolled up on my platoon in Iraq and had us stand down from a small fire fight we were in. Apparently we got involved because the bad guys fled to the area we were patrolling. Dude rolled up, asked for the PL, I raised my hand and he said, great job, we got it.

Small world. I was an enlisted soldier working for Col McKiernan 1CD G3 Trng. Like some of the soldiers Mr. Reese talked about, I was one of those wanting to be like him. I enlisted as a11X wanting to be a Ranger and such and ended up a 11C putting maps together at division HQ. I was the driver and TC M113 for McKiernan first but quickly moved as the driver/TC for MG Clark. Spring of 1992-1994. We probably passed each other daily.
Was the sgt major L Bracey? I took 2 classes in 09 with him and Kyle defoor and hands down the best training. Still got my green shirt. Brilliance in the basics

Great story interesting guy , but the feedback noise part !! , I'm driving a body shop rental, looking around putting windows up and down,, turning the fans on and off trying to find this wind noise the whole time !! Till he says can you hear a teapot sound 😂😂
Thanks for the feedback. We'll take that into consideration. At the moment we don't have the funding and equipment to video tape the shows. Hopefully we'll be able to do that in the near future.

Awesome stuff. What an incredibly fascinating guy. What a great role model as well for guys transitioning out of the military. Seems like a really cool guy too, I can see why he was such a successful leader.
HOOAH FOR James(Ranger) Reese... THE BADDEST MAN on EARTH... HE was my Company Commander in Ft. Hood, Texas... BEST TIME OF MY LIFE...

I was planning on subbing anyway, but when you fixed the wild ass tea pot or whatever it was it became mandatory
Great podcast guys 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Listened to this podcast overseas last year sometime. No shit ran into the guy not too long after.
Small world it is. I remember 1Lt. Reese when he was assigned to C Co, 2/75 (I think) back in 1991. Definitely a high speed dude!

Yeah, the downside to when we did some of these remotely.
This was awesome. That OTC/Commander’s time in Batt program should have been retained and expanded on. Definitely a solid way to retain good officers.
Appreciate it! We may do a Part II. :)

Hey could anyone speak on how often the major in delta goes out on missions
For the most part, rank matters little in 1st SFOD-D. Every operator has a role.
