It's ironic that King Crocoduck, the one named after a famous misunderstanding of biology, is the master of cosmology, and Aron Ra, the one who's named after a sun god, is the one who's focused on biology.

It's extra-ironic that the concept of a "crocoduck" inadvertantly invokes the clade of archosaurs which is what the common ancestor of ducks and crocodiles was, and something I know Kirk Cameron is unaware of

@@patldennis Kirk Cameron is willfully unaware, which is the worst kind of unaware that any of us can be. My goal, just like I'm sure yours is, is during the one and only life that we know that we'll have is to be as aware as posable as many things as we can possibly learn during this life, and to make sure those things are as true as possible.
PS: This man at the beginning was talking about biases. The same biases he uses to stay delusional. He is right that we have a bias. The only difference between him and I there is that I, being aware of said biases am on an endless journey to correct any biases I may have.

No he's not named after just a sun god. He's named after Amun-Ra. Amun-Ra was the chief of the Egyptian gods. In the early days of the Egyptian civilization, he was worshipped as two separate gods. Amun was the god who created the universe. Ra was the god of the sun and light, who traveled across the sky every day in a burning boat. AronRa chose his name because he liked the fact that the myths and lore of Amun-Ra were influential in the development of the Biblical deity of Abrahamic monotheism.

    • @Scarletpooky
      @Scarletpooky 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

@@brunaburg9377 History usually has a much lower threshold for evidence. It's because a lot of the time the only evidence they have is something written, and there's no way to test and verify it's accuracy, so they work with the attitude "it's all we have so we'll assume it's true". (and occasionally the written stuff gets re-examined and questioned if more tangible evidence, like archaeology, is discovered)
Meanwhile, science which has a much higher threshold for evidence because they require things to be testable and verifiable.
However, my comment was about people using how old something is as a factor in whether it's true, and trying to reject something just because it's old. While hypocritically accepting something that's much older, proving that their excuse for rejecting science was bullshit.
Personally I don't care how old a claim is, it's not relevant in deciding if the claim is true.
Also, historians may accept something that was written 2000 year ago, but they are not making it the foundation of their belief system, nor are they trying to make laws enforcing those beliefs on others.
If they start doing that we should expect a much higher threshold of evidence than simply "someone wrote a book".

"Trusting science is biased. Admit your bias and I'll admit mine."
That's not what a bias is. Bias is when you have a reason to believe something that isn't known information. Like family loyalty, or personal taste, or fear. It's true that everyone has biases, but science isn't one of them, and don't ever fall into the trap when someone says it is and wants you to diplomatically agree.

Something that happened to me at a very tender age and why, if pushed, I would have to describe myself as an ex-agnostic atheist. I was a very precocious reader as a child and two of my favourite books between the ages of 4 and 7 were - Aesop's Fables and the Big Blue Book of Fairy Tales. As a small child I was told about 3 mythic entities and instructed in their mysteries and observances - Easter Bunny, Father Christmas and God; however things broke down in getting to me to believe in them when I was 4. This went on to result that at age 6 I was banned from Sunday School after just 2 days of attendance and by 7 my actual school refused to take me to church for the compulsory services (something only ever else accorded to the Jewish children).
Easter Age 4 - My bedroom overlooked the garden and field were we hunted for Easter eggs and I had awoken early nicely in time to watch several adults hiding eggs for us to find later. When ushered out later on a less than pleasant day to find "the eggs the Easter Bunny left" the adults in question were less than happy when I suggested they just go and bring them back 'cos they know where they hid them, it's cold and wet and I don't want to go out and the bunny didn't hide them. This led me to be quickly sequestered and firmly instructed not to tell the other children the Easter Bunny doesn't exist or I'd spoil it for them and I wouldn't be allowed any chocolate.
Christmas Age 5 - Having thought about the whole bunny escapade I had done some research and come up with a cunning plan (well, cunning plan for a 5yr old) to test the Santa Claus hypothesis. When asked what I wanted Santa to bring I asked the one thing I always got, a jumper(sweater), but at the last moment before being sent to bed on Christmas Eve I yelled up the fireplace chimney "Santa, I want a Scalextric set" and promptly took myself to bed in hatch Phase 2. Phase 2 consisted of not going to sleep as promised, but sneaking very quietly back to see if I had induced any panic in my parents, it didn't go quite as expected. What I saw and heard through the quietly open living room door was my father rather smugly eating Santa's half of the mince pie and explaining that the Scalextric set he had bought really hadn't been for himself and really was for me whilst my mother, wrapping the set, told him it better had not be like the trainset he had bought me 6 years ago that I still wasn't allowed to touch. Boy did they jump when I jumped into the shouting "No Santa". After a desultory attempt by my parents to cover the evidence and an attempt to explain how a fat man can fit down a gas flue there was an admittance that in fact Santa did not exist and I wasn't to tell my siblings or the Scalextric would be returned to the shop by the person we all agreed had bought it.
Sunday School Age 6 - They didn't really stand a chance starting off with Noah and using an abridged New Testament for children with pictures - where did all the water come from and go to, mountains are really big, are seagulls evil and why were fresh water fish evil but not sharks, why are kangaroos only in Australia, the boat in the picture is too small, why didn't they bring extra animals for the lions to eat? That quickly exhausted answers and was told it's true because it's in the bible and the bible is the word of God and I should be quiet and just colour in the pictures provided; my response to this was to take home said kiddies-bible and compare it to the King James bible at home. When I turned up next with our KJB, a notebook of questions and an earnest expression of enquiry it took all of 5 minutes before I was banned and sent home. All I started with was - if the bible of the true word of God and these two books don't have the same words and mine is older why are you lying to me or are you doing blasphemy and heresy or is it all lies like the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus?
My RE teachers for years to come deeply regretted my parents decision to put a KJB next to the Encyclopaedia Britannica and Ancient World mythologies on a bookshelf accessible to a kid who hadn't forgotten about being lied to about rabbits and overweight anti-burglars.
Decades later I'm still puzzled why people believe in any religion when there's less consistent evidence to find than fancy eggs under a bush.

Aron, I've thrown the following out a couple times here and elsewhere, but I think we could stand to be reminded that: _It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it._
    -- Upton Sinclair
For that matter, this is why there really have been NO APOLOGETICS BOOKS which are genuinely aimed at atheist audiences. To gain credibility with informed and educated non-believers, apologists would have to confront the serious problems represented by their belief systems, and that is an analysis which cannot end well for them or their beliefs. People like Matt Dillahunty and Seth Andrews went through such a process and did so HONESTLY ... and came out the other side rejecting a belief system which *MADE NO SENSE.* So long as Pastor Bill expects a paycheck out of his BS, there is no chance that he would willingly enter into a conversation which, if he approached it rationally [fat chance!] would result in his discarding his faith in favor of fact.

If a believer is searching whether evolution is true or not when it comes to chosing between this pastors video or Aron's video they would be inclined to chose this pastors. This would usually result in them postponing their actual research which would mean more money for pastors.

i was just talking to my roommate about this. we are both theists but not christians. both of us are occultists with varying fields.
i come from an atheist background and was curious why there dont seem to be any intellectual speakers for theism that actually level coherent arguments, instead widely and consistently relying on fallacy after fallacy to justify their overstatement of their case.
my view on deity is much more modest and is, in fact, so modest that it's almost semantic and would likely offend both atheists and theists alike.
we suspect these people are largely con artists or earnest believers wrapped into double downs over non-points on behalf of con artists or dupes in their audiences. in other words, they are more invested in the social dynamics of their church than its esoteric positions. this disregard for truth in pursuit of community results in movements like this, which must rebuke science to maintain social clout amongst a community discouraged from internal dispute.
their inclination to social conformity preempts their ability to intellectually grow as a community, whereas most "atheist communities" are chaotic messes with dozens or hundreds of internal debates, keeping them more intellectually honest, if more susceptible to splintering.
im down to argue in the comments about theism in good faith btw. im not like other theists ;3

I do hold several degrees ranging from History to Genetics, and I have tried, unsuccessfully I might add, to explain the scientific process, evolution and historical accuracy to theists for over 40 years. It is rare that a "true believer" will accept anything you say. I say True Believer not to imply that they TRULY believe, but refer to those that suffer greatly from Cognitive Dissonance. The Grinning ape in this video is one such. He either knows what he saying is absolute bunk or he believes what he is saying because his cognitive dissonance will not allow him to believe otherwise. This type of personality is pointless to debate. I have focused my discussions on his audience, with some fair amount of success. There are many that know what they are saying is bogus but do so simply because it allows them to control their "flock" for fleecing later. Thank you for your efforts Aronra and King Crocoduck. I have shown your work to many people over the past and it has resulted in a fair amount of "believers" realizing their folly. Keep up the good works.

I have a channel that looks out religion through intellectual glasses (plus a few videos that don't really have anything to do with religion, but I do bring up the topics in my religion videos.) I would be honored if you'd check it out.

Cosmology proving the existence of god always comes back to that first verse "god created the heavens and the earth." *Technically possible, I guess.* But then it *ALWAYS, 100% OF THE TIME IGNORES THE ENTIRE REST OF THE CHAPTER.* I have tried every possible interpretation, young and old earth creationism, to try to see if it can align in any way to science, and it just doesn't. They're both objectively, verifiably wrong about everything. The order is wrong, the timeframes are wrong (whether you try to make them days or equal-sized eras, both wrong), *it's all wrong.*

Science is still working on it and always giving us more and more useful information , technology and healthcare as it continues. Creationism says its magic and that is that .

"I have tried every possible interpretation, young and old earth creationism, to try to see if it can align in any way to science"
That is IGNORANT to begin with.... for a LOT of reasons. But one reason that SCIENCE KNOWS NEXT TO NOTHING about EVERYTHING. So, the fact you cant align a Creation story with science means nothing. I cannot align the fact that I have to suffer with flu for 3 weeks because SCIENCE cant come up with a cure or that I have to endure SINUSITIS for WEEKS at a time because SCIENCE cant figure it out. OR that millions of people are dying with cancer and SCIENCE cant do a DAMNED thing about it. For some reason? That problem doesnt bother me very much. Science is an infant FEIGNING ADULT-HOOD but showing NO SIGNS of MATURITY.

NO, IT DOESNT. THAT IS A FALLACIOUS ACCUSATION. IN YOUR PRECIOUS LATIN ITS CALLED ARGUMENTUM AD ABSURDUM or REDUCTIO AD ABSURDUM. YOU PAINT SOMETHING RIDICULOUS BECAUSE YOU CANT DO ANYTHING ELSE INTELLIGENT WITH IT. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CREATION or HOW GOD DID IT or WHAT GOD IS or WHO GOD IS or WHAT GOD EVEN MEANS. BECAUSE ITS BEYOND YOUR SCOPE you just CALL IT MAGIC BECAUSE YOU REALLY DONT WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. LETS BE REAL, KID. IM SICK OF THIS BULLSHIT.

      @@thetruthchannel349 "NO IT DOESNT"
Yes, it does. Creationists like to insert their God into the gaps in their knowledge like a college freshman trying to get his dick wet. Anywhere it'll fit, and that's that. A creationist has never, NEVER posited their God as an explanation for something and then gone on to explain HOW their God did it. It always boils down to "God said he did it, I don't know how, but he did!"
      "THAT IS A FALLACIOUS ACCUSATION."
      How?
"IN YOUR PRECIOUS LATIN ITS CALLED ARGUMENTUM AD ABSURDUM"
No, it isn't. Also, Argumentum Ad Absurdum isn't fallacious. It is a valid logical argument that is only fallacious if used incorrectly, and since it wasn't used here at all, you're the only one being logically fallacious with your strawman fallacy.
"YOU PAINT SOMETHING RIDICULOUS BECAUSE YOU CANT DO ANYTHING ELSE INTELLIGENT WITH IT"
OOOOH! Now I see what you were meaning! You were probably meaning to talk about an argument from personal incredulity. I don't know how you got that mixed up with argumentum ad absurdum, but I guess people who aren't used to logical argumentation will find it difficult to keep up. My suggestion would be to take some courses online or something, or maybe just stick to preaching. Also, if that WAS what you meant, it isn't an argument from personal incredulity either.
"YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CREATION or HOW GOD DID IT or WHAT GOD IS or WHO GOD IS or WHAT GOD EVEN MEANS"
And neither does anybody else. That is why people had to make up stories about him and make up their own ideas of who he is and what he is about.
"you just CALL IT MAGIC BECAUSE YOU REALLY DONT WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT"
Or maybe because it fits all of the accepted definitions for what magic is.
"LETS BE REAL, KID. IM SICK OF THIS BULLSHIT"
Considering you type like a spastic and apparently don't know the first thing about logical argumentation, I'd be inclined to believe that the "kid" here is YOU!

I love the Ferrari reference " even though it has a very complex designed, it still breaks down". LMAO.... In reality because of it's complexity it breaks down more often. Complex design has a higher probability of breaking down. Just an observation.
