King Kutter FM-72-Y - How to adjust mowing height on an old pull behind finish mower.

Height Adjustments.
I bought this mower used, old, and beaten. It had some maintenance done to it like the fittings were greased and whatnot, but definitely not maintained up to my likings.
One thing I like to do is leave my grass long. I like around 4 inches.
Now you may say long grass will look uncared for, but no, when grass is all cut at 1 length, regardless of the length, it will look good. The longer grass length helps protect your lawn during storms and helps things like bugs and critters survive.
Seriously. it's not about making your yard some golf corse looking perfect thing. It's about the entire ecosystem and plant diversity.
I took a look today. most of my yard isn't grass. 🤷‍♂️. it's moss and flowers and clove and all these other crazy little plants that you can eat, or bugs can eat, or that are just down right pretty.
Anyways.
These mowers adjust their mowing height based on the wheels. so to adjust the mowing height is truly a maintenance/job. You have to lift the deck in the air, bust some old cotter pins out, and drive the wheels down and out.
Now I'm sure this would be a MUCH easier job if my deck was newer, or maintained. but it wasn't. I was dealing with a rusted insert and rusted spacers.
I messed up and mushrooms the edge of one of the spacers. Don't do that. Go grab you a rubber mallet and take your time.
This time around I just got it back together. Come winter, I'm plan to that it back apart and slightly sand down all the inserts. There's no need for the fitments to be that tight.
