Watching this video while my son is finishing up his CLE Level 5 Reading and he is excited seeing this review. It's our first year using CLE for reading and he is being challenged but loves it! This will be our 3rd year using their Math (on level 5) and it's been a perfect fit due to their spiral approach and detailed teachers manual. Added their LA and study bible too. Great academic curriculum for an unbelievable price. May not be as colorful or "beautiful" but my son really is enjoying learning with CLE. Switched our LA from TGATB simply because he needed more explanation written within each lesson and examples. How blessed are we to have so many available options?! Really enjoying your channel :) There aren't many reviews on CLE curriculum so I appreciate this one.
That is awesome you are another CLE Mama! It really is so great! The only thing you mentioned that I haven’t used is their Bible. So glad you enjoyed this!
We love CLE. I have graduated 5 of my kids using the LA, Reading, and some Bible. I have 7 more kiddos using it right now. We have used all 8 levels of the Reading units, and all the LA units through high school. Most my kids have gone on to college and easily breezed through English classes and Communications. Thank you for sharing this with others!
We started CLE level 2 and we are using the entire curriculum. I love the simplicity and no nonsense and fluff of it. I’d love to see a flip through of some of the higher levels. I watched your level 3 Math. I’d love to get a better idea of how the curriculum progresses. I’m also thrilled that you decided to go back to CLE. That makes me feel better about choosing it.
I’m so excited to be going back too! That’s awesome you are another CLE mama! I will definitely be doing a flip through and review of the higher levels in the near future! 😁
Hi! We are using Christian Light Education for the first time this upcoming year. We decided to use it for my daughter entering first grade. We will use the Grade 1, Learning to Read. I'm excited to get started :) Thanks for the helpful video!!
Oh girl these look great actually I am going first year with CLE and I don't know much about it I just ordered science 7 for my older He said he wanted his own science and hoping it's more self driven Thanks for sharing The reading looks great....trying lit. Guides this year 😬 we shall see....

I don’t know yet what we’ll do for high school, HOD is an option for that. But for the next couple years, I don’t plan on using HOD. As much as I loved it, It’s too much for me at this point with 4 kids.
So, can you use the same curriculum for multiple years? Say you have a 3rd and 4th grader. Can the same materials be used the next year for the 3rd grader? Or do you rebuy the work books every year?
You don’t have to rebuy the teachers books or the reading books, but you will have to rebuy the workbooks bc they are consumable (but very affordable!)
Many of the subjects can be completely independent. If your child is younger or needs help reading, there might be more help needed from the parent. Reading is one subject that has oral reading every other day….other than that it’s so independent.
Yes we used CLE Language for some of the younger years….maybe up through 5th grade. We really liked it! It’s very thorough. We just switch to change things up a bit. I haven’t used their history or science.
I haven’t personally used CLE LA but I have used TGATB LA and found it to be very scattered and too artsy for my boys. And it jumps around on topics and I didn’t love the spelling for older grades. And I felt the younger grades were too advanced without a lot of “teaching” if that makes sense. A ton of people love TGATB but it didn’t work us unfortunately.
@@MW11-3 thank you so much for your Input!! I have 2 boys that are schooling and thats my only hesitation with tgatb i feel like theres alot of fluff that would bore them becaise you know boys right!! They are very much straight to the point and move on!
@@Lipstickncurlsfitness We will be trying out Abeka LA this fall but I highly considered CLE. My boys will be in 7th, 5th and K4. Let me know if I can help with any other questions you may have!
I have a very analytical, right to the point, engineering minded little boy and he loves The Good and the Beautiful LA. I think it might be because we talk together instead of a bulk of the lesson being workbook work or heavy writing (though he does write every day) and he says he really likes the poems and art surprisingly. At almost 9 he tells me all the time he loves his school. We have used all kind of things (not die hard The Good and the Beautiful either by the way) and I do like the new updated versions better than the old. I have also used CLE and I like the smaller light units and there are aspects of it being all in one lesson that are similar yet different. It definitley can depend on your family and your kiddo what works best. And sometimes its not what we would ever think of as being a good fit. What you could do is download a few lessons from The Good and the Beautiful and one of the samples of CLE and see how it feels to do one lesson of each :0)
I'm debating using this curriculum vs writing strands vs learning language arts through literature. I haven't used any of these...anybody have any ideas?
I have only used CLE out of those 3. So I can’t speak for the other 2, but definitely would highly recommend CLE! Straightforward, comprehensive, challenging and Christian…..it’s so good!

Hello, I’d love to see a flip through of reading upper level.
I have 3 kiddos in different places in the CLE kindergarten books. We really enjoy them.

I haven't used their Science yet, but everything else I've used has been fantastic! You'll have to let me know how you like the literature guides. 😀
Looking forward to your review of their reading program!
The orange kitty is so cute! 😻
Can’t wait for a flip through.

This curriculum really does seem good. Maybe you can do a flip through of the teacher's guide and student books and how you teach it?
It really is good! I will definitely do that very soon!
Just curious if you’ve used the social studies from cle. I’m not finding any reviews on it.
I have never used their social studies, I’m sorry!

So I originally saw your HOD video. I have been curious if you were going back to HOD and maybe keeping CLE?
I don’t know yet what we’ll do for high school, HOD is an option for that. But for the next couple years, I don’t plan on using HOD. As much as I loved it, It’s too much for me at this point with 4 kids.
I was just thinking the same thing about kinder 1 being a little slower for my already reading kiddo
Yes….if yours is already starting to read, I would look into the Learning to Read Program! That is so good!
Would you say the Teachers Guide is recommended for the Reading curriculum?
I definitely think you need the teachers guide!
Have you done CLE science and or social studies? I have a 6th and 8th grader. Thank you for your video. Great job!
Thank you! ❤️
I haven’t used their Science or Social Studies before.
Can you do how they had gone this yr? really would love to see at the end of the yr as to how it had gone! Please thank you
Yes I will be sharing how our year went….we’re just not quite done 😁

Do you think the stories in the level 7 reader are a good mix that would appeal to boys and girls?
I do! They seem very neutral...nature centered and some adventure. It really seems like something either a boy or girl would enjoy.
How involved does the parent need to be in the lessons with CLE? Does every subject need to be teacher led?
Many of the subjects can be completely independent. If your child is younger or needs help reading, there might be more help needed from the parent. Reading is one subject that has oral reading every other day….other than that it’s so independent.
Have you done the CLE language arts? Grade 7 or any grade? What do you think of their science and history?
Yes we used CLE Language for some of the younger years….maybe up through 5th grade. We really liked it! It’s very thorough. We just switch to change things up a bit.
I haven’t used their history or science.
I’m considering doing this with my kids for kindergarten
You will love it! I LOVE their Kindergarten level! ❤️
