  • Learn how to regroove tires on a semi truck and save money in this video. It's easier than you think and will extend the life of your tires. It can be completed in about 3 to 5 hours for 8 tires. Make sure your tires say 'Regrooveable' on the side before doing this.

This is the first video about regroovg I’ve seen with not a single comment about how “dangerous” this is, tire companies just want to sell new tires and all people fall for it🤦🏻‍♂️ just don’t cut them to much and it’ll be fine I would put any front tire you cut on the back though.

For sure. I'm shocked too that there's no negative comments.

I've been calling around to see but I don't think any shops regroove anymore. unless it was a liability thing I feel it's just a way to sell tires especially when it says regroovable stamped from the manufacturer. Even being conservative with the cutting depth would get you a few hundred thousand more miles well worth it.

I believe there's some places in Houston that will do it. Probably Dallas too. I get another 4 to 6 months out of the tires.

I’ve always wanted to do this to get some extra life from my tires but I’ve always been scared of taking to much off

It's very easy to go too deep. I always use something with a sharp end like a test light or an ice pick and stab the tire til I feel cords. That tells me how much rubber I have and I can figure out how much tread to take off. I check the tread depth on the other tires and if it's the same, then I just leave the tire regroover where it's at. Practice on an old tire first to get the hang of it. I wouldn't recommend my tire regroover. It's cheap. The more expensive ones are much easier and safer to use. They pay themselves off with just 3 or 4 tires. I think there are some places that will regroove the tires for you in Houston and maybe Dallas. I would go to Google maps and search 'regroove' and see what pops up.
