No nonsense cooking great video, looks delicious! I have just invested in an instant pot and can't wait to start using it, but never used a pressure cooker before so thanks for this channel, I now know what to do when it arrives. when I don't use dumpling mix I use my mums old recipe, equal quantities of beef suet and flour, pinch of salt and herbs, adding water bring to a dough and plop them in, if using self raising they come out light and double in size, if using plain flour they come out filling and heavier but far tastier in my opinion, nothing like a hot beef stew in the cold of winter :)
this was yummy :) the dumplings - to save getting it to pressure again or puttingi it on saute and cook them that way - bung them in he microwave in shallow dish with a spoon of liquid from stew. 3 minutes and perfect dumplings, quicker and cheaper (power wise)
Dumplings looked perfect, essentially if the raw dough, wasn't sticky, and wasn't overmixed, dumplings will usually turn out correct, and delicious. End result looked fantastic.
Hi Keith I had a stove pressure cooker given to me years ago l used it once it and it hissed when the drsam came out af knew point I thought the weights were going to fly off well that putme off pressure cookers but seeing you use your electric one I'm thinking of getting one I don't want to get anexpensive one just incase I don't like it are they worth getting love fran love to you andmel xxxx
In the States one bunch of leeks is $4.49. Your vegetable prices in the UK are great, you guys have no idea how lucky you are! Good for you, we’re just not so lucky 😢
Hi Mate !! Bought the Same pressure cooker from asda last week. Tried bolognaise sauce .turned out tasty but used way too much liquid .. the instructions that come with it are poor. Could you please answer a couple of questions? How do you know how much water/liquid to use ? Ì used 8 of 5he plastic cupful that comes with it. Turned out more like a soup!😂 Second, what in the world do they mean by texture?? I can't find an xplanation anywhere anywhere in the booklet. I'm finding it very hard work. Thankfully came across your channel while looking for info. Trying stewed sausages tomorrow. Keep up the good work 👏 sandym
Hi Sandy I will be pleased to help. First of all, with the cup don't use anymore then 2 cups regardless of what you cook as 2 cups is plenty. As for the texture button it means how much pressure you want you're food to cook at and it only works with the manual button. Press manual then texture and cook food on high is always the best. Hope that helps you out.
So good to see a normal everyday person showing recipes. We need more like you, good man :)

after you added the dumplings what heating did you use? I can't quite hear on the video, thanks
When you add the dumpling just put the lid on press manual and put it to zero mins and when it reaches pressure they are done mate. Hope that helps
Where did 6ou get your instant pot and are they expensive please xx
I got it from Asda Diana. it's £50 but they have them on sale for £40 at the moment
@@oldfoodguy thank you xx

Atora suet….add double sr flour to suet, add water mix till holds together. Shape into balls cook 20 mins on top of mince…easy 👍
Thanks
Yer I thought he missed the suet out too, but did look good, it would of been nice to see him taste his dumps .
No suet required, that was the point, shows you don't need it.
looks lovely what did you use to thickening the gravy
It's called xantham gum you get it in any supermarket mate
You could also make a cornflour slurry to thicken it, 3 tsp cornflour plus same amount of water. Add in and stir until thickened!
Try adding a dash of polsens gravy browning
Gordon Bennett... Have you seen the American versions of dumplings?? Talk about a crime against cookery!!!
