Back when I played Myth 2 for the first time, I always assumed that the Myrkridia who appeared in that game were effectively feral; that whatever process were used to summon/resurrect and control them left them without their knowledge and intellect, leaving only instinct. The regular-sided skull pyramids and flag design did not seem like the product of mindless grunting claw monsters, but of a society. An aggressive and hegemonistic one, maybe, but a society nonetheless.

Honestly that would probably make the most sense. They're literally not what they used to be, after a really, really long time being sealed away. More or less they went entirely crazy and like you said, feral.

I would hope so, but I think they overall were better off left unshown. I mean batmen are not really screaming "undescribable undefeatable horror" to me. And I don't mean that they should have been some sort of squid monsters, but they should have been never shown.
I think, the best way would be for you to have a mission to interrupt the ritual to summon them. Have them be hidden behind a giant portal about to open.

To be frank it's far better if we don't consider Myth 3 canon to The Fallen Lords and Soulblighter and just assume that the Myrkridia in Myth 2 are the devolved, feral remnants of a once great evil.
Besides, I didn't even know there WAS a Myth 3.

One big hint Mandalore doesn't bring up: once the cyclical nature of the universe is brought up in the ending, immediately the literal Halo theme melody starts playing.

These are by far the best reaction videos to Mandalore content I have seen since you actually pay attention to everything and not just to the jokes. Really enjoyable.
As you said Limbo of the lost is kind of a must watch, more so since you liked Druids and well Limbo is more of that pretty much.
As for other recommendations, his Thief and Homeworld videos are some of my favorite but honestly you can't go wrong with pretty much any of his videos.

The identity of the Head is revealed in Myth 3. It is Mjarin, the head of the Warlocks of the Scholomance and Myrdred's/The Deceiver's tutor. He was the Leveller of the Wolf Age, who resurrected Moagim, the Leveller of the previous age, to use him as a dupe. When Connacht beheaded him, Mjarin's head just kept on living, and since they didn't know what to do with him (and they wanted to suffer for all the pain he had caused) they just stuffed him in a box and buried him underground.
About the Myrkridia being an underwhelming reveal, what Mandalore failed to mention was that the Myrkridia were the bane of mankind in a much more primitive age. In Myth 2 humans have armor and weapons of steel. Imagine having to fight them without armor and with iron/bronze weapons, and suddenly it makes much more sense to be terrified of them.Connacht is said to be the one that defeated them because he's the one who taught humanity how to fight them. These storytelling dynamics are those of IRL legends and myths.

25:10 it's very true, sometimes "tell don't show" is the way to go, ESPECIALLY when it comes to things like gods or eldritch horrors. The W'rkncacnter for example are NEVER shown, not even indirectly, only ever told to you about, which makes them incredibly effective at stimulating your own imagination.

Wanna make the rabbit hole even deeper for no real reason? The Myrkridia sprites kinda look grey hunched vampire/ghoul sprites from Pathways into Darkness...

As someone who is currently reading the Black Company books I feel like Myth 1 and 2 have taken so much inspiration from then you might as well call them unofficiall games.
I highgly reccomend everyone who found the story of Myth 1 and 2 interesting to check out the Black Company. To give a bit of a synopsis and name a few of the similarities.
The story is about the Black Company, a brotherhood of mercenaries, being hired by a person called Soulcatcher to fight for the empire against an army of rebels. The empire is led by the Lady and her lieutenants "The Ten Who Where Taken". The book is written from the perspective of Croaker, the annalist and physician of the Black Company, wich gives it a very down to earth kind of storytelling.
Also I've found the actual audiobooks here on youtube ......

I am a huge EYE fan, it's my favourite game of all time. The game, although fantastic, remains very hard to get into for obvious reasons, so my best guess would depend on what you'd want to do.
If you just wanted to stream the game once or twice just to see what it's like, you likely wouldn't complete a playthrough and so Mandalore's video would be great to watch first. It would give you a more complete picture of what the game is like when you get into it proper.
If you wanted to play it to completion (10-12 hours for a complete playthrough, and then 6 to 8 more to if you wanted the "true" ending), watching the video after would then be better because Mandalore spoils important story beats alongside key mechanics that are enjoyable to discover on your own.
Regardless, I would warn against installing the english fan patch. As the game is in my native language I never had this issue, but the game's tone is very colorful and bizarre even natively, and its wonky translation really contributed to making the game fun for many english players. All in all, I would consider the official english version as part of the fun!
Regardless of wether you end up playing it or not, I hope you get to enjoy EYE's unique blend of madness.
May your brouzouf be plenty and your legs ok

One of the reasons why the bug for Myth 2 is so well known is because it actually got reverse engineered, IIRC. Instead of a proper search, the Uninstaller just looked a directory level up and started from there.

You are effectively at the beginning of the end of the Bungie rabbithole, Weeb.
Now that you are here. I'm going to tell you what ties them all together.
You see, Pathways leads to Marathon. But, through the effects of the W'rkncacnter, the security officer/Recon 54/Mjolnerd brought forth a reality through dreaming.
In Myth, dreaming is power. It's what gives the world it's cycles of light and dark, as sometimes you have to wake up and then go to sleep again.
Halo (the original trilogy) starts and ends with Chief waking up and then going to sleep.
Destiny is about waking up and keeping reality at bay. The Darkness is literally the embodiment of the physical.
In summary, only by dreaming can you unlock your potential to be anything and do anything.
In the words of the great SpongeBob, "It's imagination!"

Mandalore's theory of what the Devoid is, gets ruined when you remember that the game specifies in no uncertain terms that it was made by a tribe of people (which were somehow destroyed in the process), so I don't believe at all that it's a W'rkncacnter. It would also be impossible for a W'rkncacnter in the Devoid to be responsible for the Leveller since you have records of the people who made it, yet your records don't go back far enough to have any Leveller's besides Balor. This means the people who made it must have existed after the Leveller that preceded Balor, and therefore the Devoid could not have caused any of the previous Levellers since it wasn't there. Also as far as I know, there's no mention of time travel at all throughout both Myth games so whenever Mandalore brings it up, I've got no clue where he's getting it from, beyond wishful imagining.
Mandalore declaring the Devoid the source of all magic in the setting is an absolute bonkers declaration, there's nothing at all supporting that notion and it's not even a fan theory. I tried looking up connections online, and that's seriously just his own headcanon. It's partly because of stuff like that, that I'm not as much a fan of this review as Myth 1, because while I like fan theories, I hate seeing people force in connections that run contrary to what you see in the actual games.
To add onto this, Mandalore is wrong about what the Summoner does, as the codex specifies in no uncertain terms that he "resurrects" the Myrkridia (they specify that directly), so really he should be called the Resurrector, but then again this is a game where the Deceiver was loyal the whole time, so names aren't too descriptive about what people actually do.
The possible connection with the comet is also very loose, I highly doubt there's anything concretely there either, and from the looks of it, that's the general consensus in the online discourse about the subject (especially from hardcore fan groups). Future Bungie games make extremely loose references to Myth (we're talking cameo levels of loose, like having Balor on the side of a crate and that's it), but it doesn't seem as though Myth itself is referencing much, if anything at all. I also very much doubt Durandal would call a comet a "rogue star".
In fairness to Total War, there is a lot more going on in that game than the Myth game, a more accurate comparison would be Age of Empires 1 to Age of Empires 2 since like Myth, they are based around single models forming into units (and which can be broken back up into single models again). The pathfinding in AoE 1 is awful, whereas in 2 it's pretty good.
I do disagree that it would be impossible to represent the Myrkridia in Myth well, the bat people are just too simple. Make them 5-legged insectoid things with no faces for instance (or something from the movie the Thing), and suddenly you have a weird creature that you can see why the people wanted to avoid recording any descriptions of them.
So a thing about the Emperor in 40k, currently GW is still doing their tabletop Horus Heresy series, and while it follows similar beats to the Black Library books, is also diverges in interesting ways. It's as if the point is that the BL books are only one telling of the story, and a while ago GW preferred it that way. Their motto was even "everything is canon, not everything is true".
Finally, Mandalore's review of EYE will 100% spoil the game. You can stop the review before his spoiler segment (and the portion before that is almost guaranteed to make you want to play it), because inside it he will reveal key details about it that will almost certainly lessen your enjoyment of it.

Destiny has way more durect conuctions to Marathon and Myth with actual refernces of weapons coming from different universes. I love Destiny 2 but ya the game is vast and due to some of the deleted campaign stuff, I cannot reccomend it to anyone.
D2 is a great game if you are able to get the past first few hours of grinding and get to build crafting (which imo is really really damn good) but ya the new player onboarding is horrible and the furst few hours with the game are gonna feel bad....which is a shame because I think Destiny is a great game burried under nonsense.

Hearing the studio that did the animated cutscenes in Myth 2 is the same one that did Blue Gender was a real surprise. I remember that show aired on Adult Swim around the same time that FLCL and Lupin III were airing, so about 2003.
