    Oh I just love your tiny accessory projects! Also love when you say “if I were doing this again, I would…”. It makes me giggle but it’s also honest, gives any other makers good tips and shows how much we learn by doing. (Also when you mentioned the roots it reminded me of a hilarious Tom Cardy song about aerial bonsai roots). In any case- did the soil suddenly change in the final shots?

      Yes, I scraped the coffee grounds off and replaced them with sand I got from the Dollar Tree. I thought the trunk blended in too much with the dark soil. Many bonsais are in sand or gravel. I wanted the contrast.

    Considering how much trouble you had making the tree, it doesn't look too bad. I would have burned myself with either the lighter, or hot glue, and probably stabbed myself with the wire. And mine would look worse than yours. LOL I like the mold tray. I can see where it would come in handy making miniatures. I made a 1/12 book but didn't like the way it turned out. I liked the cover so I took it off and I'm going to try again.

    As always, you are a major genius in the mini world. Love how you give credit to those who inspired you. Maybe I missed it but why go to the process of burning a pipe cleaner to get the wire vs. just using wire. I've never burnt a pipe cleaner. Does it have a texture that you can't get from regular wire? Thank you again for sharing your ideas.

    The pot was charming, and the two tone paint effect like pottery glaze a cool touch- it’s the wee details that push these over the edge. What an adorable little bonsai! Fun to watch it take shape, and there was a lot of great tips packed in there, too. Love the clips for holding tricky to paint items, and use of coffee grounds. There is a studied artful randomness to bonsai, as it’s form is developed and refined over years. I think this would be one of those projects that I’d want to use an inspiration photo to help guide the style…else become frustrated or obsessed trying to ‘fix it’. 😂

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  ปีที่แล้ว

      The pipe cleaner was as easy as melting the fibers and twisting the two pieces together. With wire, I would have had to twist the shape and build up the size myself. It was so easy using the pipe cleaners
