Clay Filling is suicidal on 2 counts
1) Clay will be subject to 2 types of consolidation primary and secondary.The settlement we saw in the video is primary consolidation.Secodary is the consolidation due to the escape of pore water pressure and is time dependent or long term Say after a year or so.Hence it is absurd to try to dynamically compact Clay and to feel safe.Clay filling will settle in course of time bringing down with it the floor concrete and the flooring
2) You cut off the cappilarity through the walls by providing DPC but what about the cappilarity through the filled portion..Cappilarity is increased when the pore size of the medium decreases and pore size of Clay is much less than red earth. Such floors will always feel cold due to the dampness underneath the floor..due to cappilary rise of water through the basement filling

We can fill with soft sand over the waste and soak with lot of water to fill the gap.
