I totally hear what’s being said about connection to the world mind, but at the end of the day, it is still an extra card in your hand for free and that’s always gonna be good.
That’s totally true. Objectively it’s a good card! I just felt like, for Nova, an additional wild resource isn’t what he needs? His helmet often provides plenty and I’d rather have another event over a resource card. With that said, like VT said: if this was just a resource card it would be in every deck ever.
Connection to the Worldmind is crazy strong I don't get what he means. It essentially makes your deck smaller, which means you are hitting all your good cards mote consistently. If it took up one of your hand size then it'd be not great, but it only is additive (unless you randomly draw it with another card draw effect).
Boomguy is crazy ngl. Worldmind doesn’t even use a hand, you can hold into it for the big turn. It also makes your deck 2 less card and the only wild resource in his kit for his ability. I understand you would rather have event but this card doesn’t even steal a slot and actually make you draw your event faster. If there is a resource that has “draw a card” when you spent, everyone would run it. This does that every turn.
This is a fantastic summary. Respectfully, Boomguy kinda went off the deep end with this one. Connection to the Worldmind is fantastic. It's free. It's a wild in a kit that cares about that. You can just hold it in your hand until you need it without punishment. It's pretty good
The argument that you would want a "Power of" resource in place of this doesn't really hold up once you analyze it: In a 5 card hand, the "Power of" resource is a double for, let's say 2 of the 4 other cards in your hand. Otherwise it's a single resource. In a 5 card hand, Connection to the Worldmind is effectively a double for ANY card because it draws you another card (you draw 2 cards in a "spot" in your hand that is 1 card for every other hero in the game). But it also gives you another option. Say that sixth card is an event? You have five options of cards to spend that resource on. It doesn't reduce your options (# of playable cards in your hand) like any other resource card in the game does. It's completely free
Boomguy is pretty crazy…awesome…but I don’t think he’s off the deep end that Nova generates enough feel bad moments with Connection that it’s not out of the running. It IS a great card, and I don’t think it’s the worst. Nova is a card drawing fiend. Unleash Nova Force draws a ton, he can consistently play Avengers Mansion, he loves Champion Mobile Bunker and Moon Girl, and he has Jesse Alexander. It’s likely to draw Connection when you’d rather have an event to solve a board problem. Drawing Connection in any of those situations doesn’t feel great. It nice once it’s in your hand, sure. But paying for things isn’t a problem Nova has, even if holding it harms no one. I disagree with Boomguy, but I don’t think he’s super off-base here
Boomguy , your rant on Cap marvels crisis card was hilarious!! 😂😂🤣 you have great comedic timing! And then villain replies its great card with that contagious VILLANOUS laugh! haha Loved the show, gentlemen!
Before villain says what he’s gonna say about the daily beagle I gotta hop in. (Please take the following with love and in the spirit of the silly pig himself) I know boom guy doesn’t like to flip down, but this pig has three confuses, an Alter Ego support, and a huge recovery with a special ability attached. Of course he wants to flip down!!! OK now I’ll let Villain say what he’s gonna say Edit after the discussion: this was a travesty of justice
It pays for itself, give a resource that is bankable, and also power up your identity card like Ham it Up or to ready with Organic Webbing. It accelerates your game because you don’t have to wait for villain to hit you which happens once per round.
You only need to flip down twice for it to be resource positive, which is pretty reasonable considering his 3 confuses and tons of thwarting. I'd also argue that it can be worth it if you flip down 1 time because it's a banked resource and some of his toon counter effects are worth more than a resource (a ready for him with organic webbing is worth it, for example).
If you are playing multiplayer together, you guys need to play Kang (with one of Mister Sinister's mods... maybe?). Not sure if I've seen a multiplayer or two-handed video of Kang on the major MC content creator's channels. Perhaps when each player gets wisked away to their own Kang, you could each play (but record) those on your own without the other person seeing and edit it together for the video. Would probably be a lot of work, but an amazing showcase of the scenario.
And I think I agree with Boomguy about the power of the player cards in this wave. There are many cards here that have had a lasting effect on the power curve of the game.
Personally for Sp//dr I would say her worst card is ejection protocol, not because it’s bad but rather the card I feel I use the least in her kit. It’s very rare I feel like I need to exhaust for the emergency health and tough.
That is the first one I think too. It’s 0 cost but you do exhaust all your interface which means there is technically a cost. This prevent you draw 2 cards or even heal.
I love that Ejection Protocol. Even if you use it at 6 hp, it's a 0-cost Tough card. Because you can just flip back to hero form with no difference. Just make sure it's the last thing you do and the Interface thing doesn't matter - exhausting them isn't a cost. At any lower hp, you also get some healing. It can let Uncle Ben draw you more cards. And it's bankable on the board, so you can play it when the going is good to get breathing room when you're hurt.
Excellent episode. My pitch for Nova's card not being Connection is that Connection is an extra wild resource card, as long as it is drawn at the end of the hero phase, that empowers you to deck build for more resource intensive builds. True, if you only played a game with his 15-card kit, then Connection might not be that good, but, in a full deck with aspects and basics, Connection allows for him to add higher cost curve cards or to play resource-matching cards/pay for encounter cards. That to me makes it better than his dad, the support card. Looking forward to the game play video!
Based on the discussions at the end of the video, I think that the bottom half of A and the top half of A feel meaningfully different in terms of power. I'd suggest moving the top 3-4 of A to the S tier. Cosmic Ward may be the best card (so far), but there are still several very good cards that have separated themselves from the pack as well.
For Peni Parker it's SP//DR command 😉 Venom can just win games, his potential is by far the highest among the 3. And web trap is too good and consistent with that low cost. SP//DR Command is less consistently useful and doesnt swing/seal a situation as hard as venom.
SP//DR Command is one I often skip over playing on the first pass through the deck, but once Host Spider is in play it essentially becomes "discard one card to ready".
Let's not read anything into the fact that the D shrank as the curve appeared. More seriously, great discussion! I wouldn't put Beagle and Jesse that far apart, but I can see the argument for them doing different things in their respective kits. I think I personally rate Jesse higher than Beagle, but Nova and the pig are among my least played characters so take that for what it's worth.
I don’t think I buy that argument “he shuffles a card in and lets you draw a card, that’s just good”. No, he shuffles in the card you dislike and lets you draw a card, increasing the chances of you drawing the card you dislike and you can’t draw cards unless you increase that chance.
Connection of the World Mind is probably the worst hero resource card, because if you draw it outside of drawing up to your hand limit it is just a single wild. That said, I think Jesse Alexander is still a weaker card. When it comes to VEMON, I almost always find it to be a win-more card. Once I'm playing it to full value the game is already winding up.
That's true about Connection to the World Mind, but you can also choose to not spend it and it will gain it's value back the next turn. Of course you may need to spend it and not get that luxury though.
Very jokingly disappointed that USA basketball rules were explained but not the difference between USA so-called streaky bacon vs UK bacon when Winning Hand said VT was "achin' for some bacon" 😅
I am going to point out something that you didn't mention about Jefferson Davis that actually makes me love him. It is his S.H.I.E.L.D. trait, very handy when I am looking for cards to exhaust for a Homeland Intervention. Which as signature supports go, actually being useful in hero is pretty rare.
I think another one for spdr is the defence alloy. Let's be real you only drop this card down cos it's an interface that she requires but it's definitely the weakest one and you bearly use it's actually text on the card.
Gonna dive into this episode....so I'll make my choices and see if they line up with yours!:) Worst cards: Miles - Jefferson Davis Ghost Spider -....is there one? Lol..I guess Parental Guidance SP//dr - Ejection Protocol Ironheart - Sector Scan?...(worse in that I've used it least) Nova -...geez it's hard..maybe Pot Shot? Spider Ham -...this is too hard! Lol Keen to see what you think!
Looks like my comment didn't post! Or I'm blacklisted by now. I hadn't thought about Web-Binding since Change of Fortune came out. Sounds pretty fun. I find Web-Binding better in multiplayer, as I can still defend and trigger my response. Not a fan of Parental Guidance outside of turn 1, because I don't flip much with Ghost-Spider. I think there are strong arguments for both cards. SpiderHam its Hogwashed, though its still a good card. I flip a TON with the pig, and definitely get a ton of value from Daily Beagle. Also, not only are toon counters resources, they also pump up his thwart with Ham it Up. I actually think Boomguy made some good points about Connection, and there are times I draw it during a huge Unleash Nove Force turn where I wish it was a card that DID something. However, you can hold it for no disadvantage to your hand. I rarely flip down with Nova, so I never play Jesse unless its a turn 1 draw where I also drew connection, or I'm just really rich. Jesse is the correct choice. SP//DR for me is Ejection Protocol. I've used it, but its not even close to every game. The other two are getting played every game. Miles and Iron Heart you objectively picked the correct choice ;) For heroes, you need to play the two with the worst cards so far, so She-Hulk and Valkyrie!
I totally hear what’s being said about connection to the world mind, but at the end of the day, it is still an extra card in your hand for free and that’s always gonna be good.

With that said, like VT said: if this was just a resource card it would be in every deck ever.
It’s totally bankable with no drawback and lets you run a little higher cost curve if you want. I can’t ever see that card as bad.
Connection to the Worldmind is crazy strong I don't get what he means. It essentially makes your deck smaller, which means you are hitting all your good cards mote consistently. If it took up one of your hand size then it'd be not great, but it only is additive (unless you randomly draw it with another card draw effect).
About the only time it'd be bad is against Stryfe where you might not want to have an extra card.
What I'm hearing is that I need to have Boomguy play a Nova deck based around Connection to the Worldmind
Boomguy is crazy ngl. Worldmind doesn’t even use a hand, you can hold into it for the big turn. It also makes your deck 2 less card and the only wild resource in his kit for his ability.

I disagree with Boomguy, but I don’t think he’s super off-base here
@ yea, the bad thing is when you draw it on a combo
I wonder if Boomguy doesn't understand how this card works. It essentially makes your deck 38 cards.
I accidentally play Venom at 5/5 with ease every game. I’ve never triggered Ejection Protocol.
Congrats to the winners! That’s such an awesome get
These can't come out fast enough! So excited for the next wave, keep up the good work both of you
Always look forward to this series. Thank you guys! 🎉🎉😊

My 12 year old son loves Ironheart, and I asked him what he thought..... Without hesitation he said Sector Scan 🤣
Hahaha! Perfect. He knows his stuff!
He's 12, he's not stupid.
I think Boomguy is right. Strongest wave for hero cards.
@@andyn2854 see!! “Boomguy was right”
Surprised you didn't pick Ejection Protocol for SP//dr. Would be my choice with AM&UB. VEN#m is one of my favourite signature allies.
Ah I'm a huge fan of Ejection Protocol, it's a bankable 0-cost Tough with other benefits

Today I learned that we now live in the AHT (After Honed Technique) period of time.
I feel spdrs weakest card is actually venom😆. Feels like it really needs the set up with interfaces to make it high stats. It's also a 4 coat
Boomguy: "None of these are bad cards."
Me: "That's where you're wrong, Iron Man's War Machine ally is bad."
I proposed a “jump ball” a few episodes back. Glad to hear it’s happening.
That Boomguy has some good points.
Very good points, he should start a podcast where he talks about Marvel Champions, one card at a time.
@@TheOlopsI wish I had thought of that first, it’s brilliant!
A very non-bias opinion
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think his cat also made some interesting points about Gwen. That cat should be a guest on his show!
For the gameplay VT should play vision and BoomGuy play star lord with some commentary on the different play styles maybe
I love that!
Yesss my favorite series!
For the gameplay, why not try to build decks around the heroes worst cards and put them in situations where they can shine.
That's a pretty cool idea. 🙂
